I would take their observations with a grain of salt....

We were told that in all total maybe Chris had 3 or 4 days of time with Becca(paraphrased my point being not much time in reality), so in actuality how much time did he spend with any of the women in that interview--Samantha, Ashley I, Ashely S or Jillian? Did any of them know him well enough to come up with anything more than a scrap?
I would put more weight on friends of Chris who spent time with him and Whitney, or if there were people he knew at the football game that observed him with Jade. People who really knew him might offer true insight vs 4 women who he spent maybe a few hours.

Anyway it was pretty cool.  I watched because someone on here had said that they had thought he was way more in to F2.  I did not hear that in anything they said.  Again, people hear what they want to hear.

Hmmm...I don't know how important their opinions are, since I don't think they are as close to Becca/Whitney as Kaitlyn and Carly were, but I definitely heard things suggesting he was more into Becca, but that he NEEDED someone like Whitney.

- MM says that she got the impression that Whitney was rigid, knows exactly what to say, and read the book on "how to win the bachelor". Ashley I says she understands why MM thought that, felt like her facial expressions didn't reflect her true feelings, and that's why her relationship with Whitney was strained for a while.
- MM continues and says that something about how controlled Whitney is makes it seem like Whitney/Chris just do not seem natural and organic. Samantha responds by saying that Whitney had a journal, where she would write down every single thing, she was really worried about staying or going, and had it listed out who was going to win.  
- Ashley S. does say she truly thinks that they are going to last. She says that Whitney is smitten over him and Chris doesn't feel that same excitement towards her, but sometimes you can't see what you need. You learn to love the things that you sometimes don't want.
- Ashley I says that Whitney loves him, will love him forever and ever, BUT she has a hesitation right now. 24 hours ago, she would have said that they would have lasted. Now, she thinks (possibly blinded by edit) that he cared more about Becca.
- Jillian doesn't answer the question - thinks it must be weird to watch where "he's still kind of in love with Becca" and that their lives aren't typical because of DWTS and the change to the farm which puts a lot of pressure on a relationship.

ETA:
- Ashley I says she really wonders what would have happened if Becca seemed more willing to say ILY and commit right there. Ashley S agrees and says a lot would have changed if that happened.
- MM asked Ashley S what the dynamic between Chris/Becca since she was at the ATFR: Ashley S says that because Chris had grown up in a small town and hadn't had that much experience meeting girls, so for him to meet that many girls and see a rare jewel like Becca, he really admired her and she just didn't expect it; thinks that he still feels pretty much the same way towards her as when he said good-bye.  

Chris went to a University - it's not like he has never been around "girls".  There would have been plenty of girls at Iowa State - it has an enrollment of 30,000+.

I think it is important to remember that these four women (Samantha, Ashley I, Ashley S and Jillian) were all pretty much gone by the time the relationship with Becca really started developing.  They saw what we saw and are making their comments based on that.  Look how off they admit being about Chris' relationship with Whitney! They admit to having no clue that it was that strong.  I would take their observations with a grain of salt....

Anything said by MM I ignore because she is just trying to draw viewers. As for the rest, all of them admit that they had no clue how close Whitney and Chris became during the course of filming even though they were there for part of it. All of them left either a few episodes in or at the latest for Ashley I, before HTD. All of them admit that things were spliced and diced to show what the producers want, but all of a sudden they wonder how things would have gone down if Becca had acted differently based on what they saw. I don't care if they saw the AFTR live since the edit had already infulenced/altered how they were thinking. To me, this just shows how well the producers/editors do their job. Even the people involved end up questioning their judgement.

So far, everything I've seen from these two has just further reinforced what I originally thought. Both are professional and passionate about what they do. Neither is afraid of hard work. Both seem honest, realistic and down to earth. Neither is flashy and in your face with over the top PDA's. They both seem to be adjusting their lives to make the relationship work. Will it work? It is still early days, however, because they both seem to be willing to put in the work to make a relationship...or anything...a success, I give them better odds than most.

I know how difficult it is to avoid getting wrapped up in the drama and picking personal favorites. It just seems to me the only way I can come close to who might win, is by using logic.

Of course, I liked Chris and Whitney, but had no dog in the fight. I paid attention to what he said and went thru the process of elimination.  Once a person gets emotionally  involved, making picks by what you see on the TV screen overtakes common sense.

In my post, I did say that I don't know how important their opinions are since they were not that close to either Whitney or Becca. I was just responding to the poster who said that there was nothing in the spreecast suggesting that the girls thought that Chris was more into F2 than F1. I think that the quotes that I listed proove otherwise, but, again, I agree that the girls aren't the most informed sources.

I will say that I still think that Ashley S.'s explanation of Becca/Chris's dynamic is pretty telling, since she was the only one who said with complete confidence that she thinks that Chris/Whitney will make it (she truly believes in it her heart and mind that they will last). To me that suggests that she isn't really biased and is rooting for them to make it, but still can see his chemistry with Becca. Especially their dynamic when they are not being filmed, which is always really telling.

I also think it's interesting to see what they think of Becca, Whitney, and Chris separately because I think that reveals quite a bit about whether C/W will last or not.

I agree with this entirely. I do get a sense of peace and ease about them. They don't hang on each other and they seem really genuine - like they have nothing to proove. I loved the People.com interviews "50 shades of Soules" because they were so relaxed and confident. It was like they were sitting on a porch talking with friends. They don't look at each other for validation when they are talking about their relationship, because they it is not necessary.

Agree that MM was trying to stir the pot, and that the girls really did not know W & C 's relationship. I did think it was fun to watch and hear the behind the scenes stuff.

B & C had great chemistry. They look like brother and sister to me. She was clearly not as in to him, and I do believe that was a nut he could not crack and it made him want to pursue it. I agree with BIL to a certain extent that B's holding back made him want it more.

I am enjoying watching W & C. I see a couple that is mature and they know how to get past the tough stuff (which there is a lot of).
Favorite part of ATFR was when B left and CH said, any regrets. C's expression was so confident and like, are you kidding me? CH laughs and said "I didn't think so". ( I know he was not about to say anything different, but it was his expression that confirmed it for me.)

Can we all agree that AS is NOT crazy.

It amusing to me when I read posts about Chris knowing Whitney was F1 all along and was  just acting with everyone else.

Did people forget how he made out with a certain long hair brunette in the open and in front Whitney and other girls shortly after their "she's the one" wedding crasher date? How he disappeared with said person without qualms - seemingly not caring about how the other girls felt about it including his "beloved".

Yes I understand that is all part of the show but I don't think I have ever seen a lead so blatantly show less regard for the feelings of the one he supposedly knows he wants. I've been watching for years and I have never seen that. If anybody else can point out an instant where the lead has done that (in front of their F1) I'd love to hear it. I've seen numerous occasions where the lead has run off with their F1 for some free time but never that.

Also do people really think he was only intimate with Whitney during FS dates?! A certain "Bachelorette" seemed a bit too surprised that she was going home, IMO. "what happened" she said.

Anyway,  it seems it's not enough to have Whitney be picked but all the other relationships need to been faked for this final couple fairytale to be more real?!  All the "smoke screen", "scripted", "producer driven" relationships that Whitney couldnt bring herself to watch all season ---because it was all so well acted, I guess

I think almost everyone thought Whitney was the logical pick. You're not alone there. The thing is though, he wasn't hiring a new farm manager, he was looking for his wife. Love isn't always rational and a good resume isn't enough to make it happen. The fact that he chose the most logical and suitable option doesn't really add credence to the love story IMO. On the contrary, there's a real possibility that he made his choice with his head rather than his heart. Not saying his heart wasn't involved at all, but compare him to Sean for example. Sean chose the less logical and more risky option, so I would say he definitely chose with his heart. What other reason could there be? On the other hand, there are so many reasons for Chris to choose Whitney, from logistics to career to family approval, not to mention his F2 not being in love with him, that I can't help but wonder just how much his heart was involved in the choice. Perhaps it has caught up with his head after the show, but watching him with Whitney, I'm still skeptical.

Well Whitney did say he gave each relationship the attention that it needed. Time will tell going forward.

You make some very good points. I remember CH talking about CS carried his emotions on his sleeve and it would take creative production to make it to the end. So the point I am making here is that we don't know if Chris was controlling the sneaking off to the concert -or- that was production calling the shots. I personally believe very little is done on the show not controlled by production.

My theory early on was that TB was going to do everything they could to throw the viewers off of the Chris and Whitney story. I believe that with week 9, the remainder was filler dictate by the producers. Not that they did not make the final weeks interesting, they did. As for Chris and Becca, choose your own theory on that.

It's amusing to me when I read posts about Chris pining away for his true lost love while faking a relationship with his fiance' that TPTB forced him to choose. But that's just me.

Quite a few posters commented on how Britt initiated the kisses with Chris in front of the other contestants to rub it in their faces. I don't recall anyone thinking that Chris arranged the Big & Rich private concert he attended with Britt or the amount of time he was away from the other ladies. TPTB could have instructed Chris to send the others home first, but that wouldn't have been as dramatic. Poor guy even commented in his blog about it. 

As to "doing the deed" in the FS, if Chris was in love with Becca as some insist, surely he wouldn't defile that love by being intimate with two other women. Surely he would consider their love sacred! Surely he would know that a contestant saving her virginity for marriage wouldn't approve. Kaitlyn did think he was sending Becca home especially after Chris pulled her away during the rose ceremony. She looked worried when Becca came back and said "oh shoot".  Whitney didn't look worried and of course Chris gave her the first rose - again.


Anyway, it seems it's not enough for Chris to validate the feelings he had for other contestants during the filming of the show. It seems it's not enough for Whitney to state she was glad that Chris gave each relationship due attention. It's not enough that Chris said during his proposal (and in interviews) that he wants the whole world to know he loves Whitney. It's not enough that they had unsanctioned visits in addition to the producer planned safe house visits after filming. It's not enough that they as a couple are actively moving forward with their life after DWTS ends. All of this in spite of the fact that their relationship began on this scripted show. Oh well. It seems that it IS enough for Chris, Whitney and their families.
