Not sure about Ali but Ashley said she kept a journal during filming and also that she briefed JP each episode about what he would be seeing that she thought he might have questions about. She also mentioned that some of JP's questions were about things Ashley didn't expect him to have questions about.

I don't know that Whitney is the first F1 to have only watched their parts of the show because I think I've heard that before. Personally I think it's probably a smart thing - anyone who understands how the show works is going to know that they will see the lead courting everyone in some way or another and the show edit is going to make that seem as dramatic and real as possible, because that's what they do. I don't see how that helps a relationship; it might be different if the view wasn't distorted by the edit but IMHO it is always distorted.

ETA: I don't know that I've ever heard that Chris kept a journal but if he did I too would love to see it because I think it would have some distinct differences from the edited mish-mash we saw on screen.

There is a link somewhere here to an article that says that during home towns (but this was referring to the visit to Chris' hometown so we would refer to the date as the MTP date) Whitney asked Chris' mother about what role she played in the family business and how she (Mrs. Soules) thought that Whitney could get involved in the family business. Chris talked about that and mentioned that Whitney is very organized and detail oriented and that she could be very helpful counterbalancing Chris (who is neither organized nor detail oriented) in managing relationships with the people the business works with often. I think that plays to Whitney's strengths and as you point out - those are necessary skills in her profession as a Registered Nurse. She would also be disciplined (as all health care professionals must be) in HIPPA and the need to keep things private to protect the privacy rights of patients. I'm not surprised that she wouldn't be one to blather all about her private life on SM.

Roberto did not watch his season with Ali at all. Des' Chris only watched his dates with Des. There may have been others but those are the ones I remember.

Thank you! I knew I had heard in the past that some F1's didn't watch but for the life of me couldn't remember who it was. After a while all these seasons tend to blur into one. I'm wondering if Chris and Whitney did any behind the scenes passing of notes or candy or some other thing that only they would know. I'm hoping that once the hoopla is over and they are more established that we hear some BTS goodies. I live for that kind of stuff.

I know, in the past, couples have also spent 1:1 time either together or on phone while viewing the next episode to process what went on together.
As long as they both are on the same page, it's good.

I remember that on ATFR JP said he hadn't/wouldn't watch Ashley's scenes with Ben, then later on JKL they showed part of the Ben date which set off a brouhaha.  But IMO that's not as bad as Jimmy implying that Whitney won because Becca wasn't into Chris!

Thanks for your post stuck! I actually like hanging out in the discussion threads more now. I totally agree with you they provide a place to discuss our different opinions. I too am a bit worried about Whit because of what I saw at the ATFR and hearing Chris in post show interviews. Maybe you are right and the real Whit is somewhere in the middle of what we were shown on the show. IMO she is having a hard time and that might be why Becca posted what she did in support of Whit. I guess time will tell.

Nikki did not watch. Cat watched but said she viewed his actions as okay as he wasn't hers yet. Back beyond that I don't remember. Oops, Emily watched and started believing the spoilers about Chantal. Got to love Emily, the woman who inspired the dodged a bullet gang!

I don't care if Whitney watched, but to not watch and then claim you don't have secrets from one another is odd. Personally, I don't think the season is that bad to watch. She knows about the kissing and even with Becca he never said he loved her.

If I was Whitney the after show stuff would bug me more. My fiancé touching Jade as much as possible on WTA, the extra long hug and hanging on every word from Becca at AFTR. Not just saying that even if Becca had said ILY. Then making it clear in every interview that his family strongly influenced his choice. I would be mad at Chris for still saying things that make it seem like he wasn't sure or all in. That is what I find disrespectful to Whitney. She is your fiancé, stop talking about your connection with the other woman. Sean May have said ILY, but he spent every interview and AFTR talking about his love for Cat. I wish Chris would learn some lessons from Sean.

Sorry, but I don't know how anyone can watch this and think these two are in love. It can't be that they're over the honeymoon phase, since according to Whitney they haven't spent much time together at all. He put his arm around for a minute, while claiming he's got no regrets, but it dropped soon enough. Awkward.

Wasn't it Brad 2.0 that had to buy Emily new shoes because she was mad about something that aired? The show doesn't do any favors for the lead and his/her chosen. I remember 1F being bothered by all the kissing and physical stuff between Arie and Emily.

IMO, the most real Whitney we've seen is in the people videos. Relaxed, funny, has an easy banter with Chris. They are comfortable enough to tease each other. I thought they were funny when the interviewer asked them where they would go on their honeymoon and Chris said Arlington ( sounds like a man) and she says Greece. He says we can't do that we're on a budget then he gives her a look like yeah I know, we're going to Greece.

^^^ I agree mindless something is off but hey time will tell. I think they are navigating through a rough patch. JMHO I personally think Whit can do better but then again I don't really know her. I do think it is smart she is staying away from watching the show. I just hope Chris has been honest with her. We shall see I guess. I do think she is smart to not move straight to Iowa. Take your time and get to know Chris in the "real world." I have said that about all couples. LOL
