This will give them an opportunity to test the strength of their new relationship. Whitney appears to be extremely confident and IMO I don't think she's the type to give up easily. Your fiance is on DWTS, who would not be supportive of such an opportunity to live in L.A attend the shows and experience all that there is in meeting other stars.
I don't think this will create any problems for these two at all. I maybe wrong, but Whitney appears quite comfortable in the changes in their lives. I think we'll see a very happy couple each week.
Just to clarify, this is a General Discussion thread, just like other General discussion threads for other former couples, in the Former Couples Category.
JMO, but I do think that both leads that went on the show have admitted that it created problems for their relationship(Jake/Vienna, Sean/Catherine). Obviously, I think those two examples speak to the fact that if you have a strong foundation, built on respect and trust, you can get through it and it might even make your relationship stronger. If you don't have that strong foundation, it's just going to destroy it more quickly. I just think that practicing 12 hours/day and being too tired and busy to spend any quality time with your partner would create problems for ANY new relationship. Especially one where they have only been able to see each other approximately 1x/week for the last 3.5 months. Add to that the crazy amount of fame and attention that Chris will experience because of DWTS's bigger audience. I don't fault Chris for doing DWTS. Many leads, including ones that gotten married, have said that they would have done it if it had been offered to them. I just think that it will be test their relationship.
I don't see much difference between practicing 12 hours or farming for 16 hours and coming home tired. I have a feeling that Whitney and Chris have spent more time together than most couples. If she was sneaking to Arlington, plus the safe house visits, the holidays and a possible tropical excursion, they've had some quality time.
IMO Whitney and Chris seem to have one of the strongest foundations coming out of this show. I don't feel like Chris has done anything to lose Whitney's trust or respect and I've listened to Chris all season talk about how much he admires her as a person. IMO Chris has been one of the most serious leads about finding a wife, I believe part of the reason why he chose her is that he trusted that what she was saying was true. The disconnect that some are seeing with Whitney IMO is just Whitney out of the bubble. Being a little bit more realistic about reality. I don't think it's an issue because she is also doing things to strengthen and support the relationship. Switching jobs and moving to CA. for a little while are not things that I believe Whitney would do if she's not in love with him. Yes, this will test the relationship but I don't think that's such a bad thing. Better to know sooner than later.

I don't know if I believe that Chris spends 16 hours everyday farming. Especially since he will have spent a total of ~6 months away from the farm (Bachelorette, Bachelor, DWTS), not to mention the media tour he's done in-between. I think the farm probably manages fine without him because he's not really the one doing any hard-core manual labor.

He works at least 40 hours a week at his farm real estate job. I'm sure this is less during harvest and planting. But he has a full time manager for his property. He even stated so on access Hollywood.
Again he's taken a year long leave of absence from his full time job.

I just found it odd that Chris chose to do DWTS when he doesnt need it. I understood when Sean chose to do it because basically he was unemployed that time.
If I am a rich farmer and my future wife needed to be acclimated in Iowa, I will not dilly dally and begin a life with her immediately.
Does Chris need DWTS for a new tractor, to expand his business? Men are confusing.
This is one case where I have to admit RS was right; I think Chris is just starting to like the attention and fame too much. I think that's why so many of these "stars" decide to do DWTS. Many of them have had successful careers in the past where they don't necessarily need the 125k-345k, but they just want to be in the spotlight again.
I think people do this show for all kinds of reasons. Cash, new experience, drop some weight, regain the spotlight for a moment, get a career boost etc. Money eventually dries up and we hear about broke celebs all the time. My guess is that Chris thought it would be fun and the money is nothing to sneeze at. I can't think of any good reason why Whitney wouldn't be on board. She's with the man she adores, experiencing what it's like to live in a different part of the country on ABC's dime and with her personality making a lot of new friends. What's not to like?

Chris said he owns 800 acres himself. He owns additional farmland with his brother in law and he and his dad own a whole lot more.LoveGodTheMost wrote:Sean was not unemployed when he did the DWTS....in his book, he said he did not love his job at the family business before doing both shows.
Farming and related earnings are seasonal. Besides, his "wealth" could be illiquid and tied to the farm land. He works for another farmer as indicated elsewhere, so it is really hard to determine his net worth. But I am sure he is doing ok financially.
Chris is probably a good dancer and if so, he will go far. Right from the outset, Sean indicated that he was not a dancer and dancing is foreign to him. He may have been inhibited and avoided expressing himself freely or dancing too close to his dance partner...he resisted and held back dancing "all out" JMO. At least, he lasted until the 8th week (semi final), pretty good for a novice dancer.
Iowa farmland averages 7800 an acre. He has a great deal of money tied up in land. how much is owned by the bank is another question.
Probably a bunch.
When he and Whitney played the "newlywed game" she said honeymoon in Greece he said Arlington saying something about cash flow.
He's not rich, rich but he's probably comfortable. The money from DWTS means money for a wedding, a honeymoon, more land. He should take it in a heartbeat and put it towards his-their future.

That's what bothers me as well. He's way more relaxed and excited while talking about DWTS than he is talking about his engagement and future plans with Whitney. And when asked about their plans they always seem to repeat the same lines and Chris being the horrible actor that he is, fumbles. It's like they agreed in advance what to say exactly and that's a bit weird. Starting your life with the person you're in love with shouldn't be that sensitive a subject.
Obviously we don't really know what's going on, but I'm gonna speculate like I speculate about anything else that has to do with this show. They're still out there putting themselves on TV, so I'm not gonna suddenly lose interest when the real relationship starts.
They repeat the same lines because they are asked the same questions over and over again. IA Chris is not an actor and He's also not an orator. If all these answers are pre rehearsed he wouldn't be fumbling them. I'm not sure how Chris' lack of speaking skills, which we have seen all season can now be used as some kind of clue that the relationship is strained. I think most men would be happier and more relaxed talking about anything other than their relationship.
So you say Chris is not a actor so that means that he was not acting during the show too hmmmmm.
No, I don't think he was acting on the show. However, I do know that TPTB are experts at finding ways to ramp up the drama and confusion of the lead just as we've seen them do in every other season. It's part of their storyboard. They accomplish this feat with an arsenal that includes sound bites, voice overs, Fill in PI's done at a later date, using quotes out of context in VO's, putting kisses on a loop to make them look more passionate. There is a lot of creative editing that goes on to get the desired end result. I remember watching Sean yelling Emily's name in the middle of the night in Croatia and he said in an interview that he didn't holler her name and they used a piece of audio that was from earlier in filming. This show is edited to deceive and they are darned good at it.
That being said, I believe Chris when he said that he had feelings for 2 women. I just don't believe that Becca was ever first in Chris' mind. Too much smoke and mirrors in those scenes to believe it. I believe that Chris made his choice (even if he didn't recognize it) in Bali when Whitney wasn't an option for the dart board. Whitney having her LCD in his private home and Neil Lane's interview that Chris was picking out a ring with Whitney in mind tells me that Chris wasn't conflicted for as long or as hard as the editing led us to believe.

I thought that was funny when he told her they couldn't go to Greece because they're on a budget and then he giggled. Something tells me he might be going to Greece. haha

I know exactly how the show works but Chris is not that good of actor . Plain and simple I know what I saw AFTRC and he was not over Becca . He did what his head plus sisters wanted but not what his heart wanted . JMO

In the category of "take this with a grain of salt", In Touch and US weekly hitting newsstand this week are talking about Chris' FRC decision.
Obviously tabloids will be tabloids so I wouldn't take too much of this seriously...
US weekly quotes a lot from the finale that we saw and their previous article about Chris' decision.
Includes previous quotes from CH and Chris from WTA media day:
-Before proposing to Whitney Chris wept over Becca
-Says logic led him to Whitney although his heart may have felt otherwise
-Chris is happy now and thinks Whitney is prefect for him
In Touch quotes multiple Bachelor "insiders" and people close to Chris:
-Proposal was beautiful and dream-like
-Chris is not in love with Whitney, really wanted Becca for his wife
-He loved Becca and probably still does
-Says Chris felt regret immediately after he let Becca go
-Chris played it safe with his choice
-Chris broke down in front of a production assistant the night before FRC because he didn't know what to do
-PA was holding him by the shoulders and shaking sense into him
-Now he's under more stress because he made a big deal about finding a wife

They were out to dinner last night with another couple, and they responded to fans on insta saying Chris and whitney are happy and solid. So I'm taking that over tabloid sources
