Re: The Bachelorette 11 - Kaitlyn Bristowe - Filming Schedule - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*
hmm I also think whatever portion of it was staged if Nick is F1 we can actually track the flirtation right before the season -- I guess it's still an open question whether the other guys had a good chance compared to nick...if we're answering that based on pre-season sleuthing I'd say yea they def did
-- K wasn't in a relationship with N as far as we could tell it just seemed Nick was into pursuing her if she's not bette and he had to get on the show to date her...that doesn't rule out the other guys it just gives him a bit of pre show time lead but then he had to catch up with them once the filming started and weeks had passed if she'd met these guys in real and started dating a few of them casually there's almost no chance that she'd have met them in the same day
staged doesn't necessarily mean less authentic romantic or real whether or not it means that the viewing is ruined for those watching cos they can't see the initial interactions if two ppl met already
it actually might even be more romantic if the guy had to really move a lotttt of things around including in his life to try things out with a girl
imho it also may not necessarily mean that other guys had no chance if it was indeed "staged" to a degree

Re: The Bachelorette 11 - Kaitlyn Bristowe - Filming Schedule - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*
In the end, you can stage and orchestrate 2 bachelorettes with the desired bachette being picked, you can stage having former contestants enter the show a bit late, you can easily stage flipping HTDs/FDs, and setting up the FRC at the mansion. But how do you stage Kaitlyn liking/loving and ultimately picking said former contestant above all others? The only way that can be staged is if *conspiracy* she and Nick were already dating or close to it prior to filming, or he is default F1 and she wasn't in to anyone. This is all assuming, of course, Nick is actually F1, which no one can say for certain.

good post sosleepy - if nick is f1 and we don't know either way right now...N & K would have had to make some kind of commitment about their relationship to each other prior to him going on the show for it to be considered as "staged". what we know points to them potentially having met casually in NYC and even after that he was rallying for her to be the bachette and making statements on video that "selfishly he wants the bette to be britt"

california90 wrote:Staged or not, this will be a good season to watch with Nick on it IMO. I think it does ruin the season for those who are not fond of Nick, I can see that. I know that if this was Britt's show, it would have ruined it for me.
But every year we all say the same thing, in some way or another. Remember how everyone all claimed that Andi and Josh met pre-season and that was why he was F1? We don't know any of these answers in either of these cases. We'll have that sort of opinion when a contestant we like is not F1.
In the end, I can see why people feel what they feel but if we're questioning if the show is staged or not because Nick is F1, we should take a step back because this is The Bachelor/ette franchise we're talking about. I think this franchise is ONLY going to get more and more staged each season.. who knows what they are going to come up next, but I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with more bizarre things.
Good post california. The hint of staging on Andi's season annoyed me, definitely. I can see how those who will feel that Nick and K met before season will be annoyed. But I think (hope) the depth of annoyance may be mitigated by the strength of their connection.
With Andi's season I felt like her real connection (to surprise, to transform, to make vulnerable) was with Nick and that she chose Josh because he was the kind of guy she had always dreamed of. In the end, I wasn't as disappointed with that fact that she likely knew Josh before the season as much as I was disappointed about what her choice said about her (she walked away from something real) and hated the way she treated Nick.
I don't anticipate K making a 'wrong' choice or of treating her F2 as poorly as Andi did. If K authentically chooses Nick, regardless of whether she and Nick met once or flirted before the show, I think (hope) those who are not fans may be less likely to hate... or maybe I'm just dreaming...

Re: The Bachelorette 11 - Kaitlyn Bristowe - Filming Schedule - *Sleuthing - Spoilers*
Staged?
Every season:
- contestants come to the m&g with gimmicks that couldn't possibly be of their own doing - Chris in a cupcake? Lindsay on a horse?
- there are firework - Shawn in San Antonio? Arie and Jef?
- oh my, the leap of faith - Chelsey buggy jumping? Marcus rapels?
- someone returns - Kacie B? Jordan? Nick?
- someone leaves - Frank? Eric? Sharleen?
- someone goes on a boat and the couple jump off together
- the spewing of metaphors
- 4 people go on HTDs when we all know the lead isn't interested in all of them
- there will be contestants in rehearsal for the next lead at some point
- there will be live music - Drew? Britt?
- amazing amazing amazing
- someone will dance to live music
- there will be plenty of closed mouth kisses with different contestants because there seems to be a minimal quota in the lead's contract
- in recent times, there will be a proposal or hell to pay. Looking at you JPG,
- the lead will be "torn"; falling in love with multiple people
- Neil Lane will show up
- there will be a cat
Of course it's staged.
I think people watch for different reasons but in the end it is hoped by all that there will be a love story. We all pick our fav and that's who we root for because the show is set up like a competition and at some point teams are formed. True, no one is impressed when their team captain doesn't win but of course we are not the lead, not the one who actually has to live with the choice. I can't recall a season where everyone was overjoyed by the F1. Viewers aren't really united on this franchise being about love because if so, it wouldn't matter who the lead chose... we would just be happy the lead found love.
Love IMO can't be staged. You can set the stage for love, but you can't force it. That's why the success rate of the franchise is so low in the long term.
Staged? The lead is paid to date. The lead doesn't choose the contests, the casting department does. Yep, it's a love game/ play.

This is exactly how I see it. :Nod:sbolduc wrote:reason wrote:Remember I said that if they are following Bryon season they would film the final at the mansion if per tweet there was lightening there over the weekend. Guess per RS I might be right afterall.
This is the biggest reason I am thinking more and more Nick is F1. Purely based on the potential mirror seasons:
1. Two bachelors/two bachelorettes
2. Past contestants enters weeks in
3. HTD potentially reversed with FDs
4. FRC filmed in LA at mansion
Any others???

I find it quite hilarious if the shows follows this template exactly which is seeming likely it will and so awesome how early Kasha suggested this. You can just hear the producers having a meeting "Remember that season way back where we did x, y z differently. No one even remembers that season at this point. It will be so fresh and new to the viewers. Let's all go watch it and take notes."
I get people not liking the planned feeling. Normally that would turn me off too. The idea of Arie bothered me preseason because it seemed like a planted, prearranged story line, but I ended up loving him and him best with Emily. Andi and Josh felt so preplanned I was turned off from the start and then I didn't like either of them much and liked the F2, who was treated like crap way better, so kind of ruined the whole season for me.
Becuase I love Kaitlyn, really like Nick and can I imagine them being great together, it doesn't bother me the sense of pre-determination. And as someone else said, they still had to actually date, have real chemistry, develop feelings and see potential in the real world. I can only imagine Kaitlyn choosing the guy she really wants, not following a producers plan.
So I'm really excited to see if Nick is my fav for Kaitlyn, or if it's someone else, whatever the spoilers say about F1.

This is great nr! I had a thought when RS said someone makes a fool of himself and speculation started surrounding that. I felt that's nothing new to sleuthers here. I was going to make up a new fun thread and posters could guess who does what. Such as who is going to jump in the pool naked, sure enough it happened.
