This AFTER the supposedly great day with Whitney that gave him all the clarity he needed. The fact that they switched those dates around and skipped the day portion of Becca's date speaks volumes. Their chemistry and connection was most obvious during their normal dates, the two 1-on-1's when there was no pressure yet. I imagine the day portion of their LCD was more of the same, them having fun laughing and just enjoying each other's company. Instead they spent the last two episodes focusing solely on her doubts and virginity, so as to build Whitney up as the only true option. Sorry, but if anything's following a scrip then it's that.

I totally get why Chris chose Whitney. Becca was a huge gamble and Whitney was everything he asked for. I just won't believe they'll be married until I see it. Good luck to them though!

Totally agree. Becca reminds me of the character of the real world girl in the movie The Truman Show. The one who tries to tell Truman that he is living his life on tv and that there is more out there than what he is being fed. She wasn't successful in pulling him out of the bubble, but she came darn close.

Yes, and this is what will be so hard for Whitney... you can't just not watch the show and stay away from it. Hopefully that is something DWTS will do for them, get people to stop talking about how much he was into Becca and onto how bad his dancing is. LOL.

!  I agree!  By no means do I think Whitney if a default or settled for choice, he made his choice and it was Whitney.  I did see there was something there throughout the show, and as you said Whitney was everything he said he wanted.  I agree with you, Becca was a total gamble on how long it'd take to get there - in love and Arlington, and would she really stay once she got there.  I'm just not sold, yet, that he was really sure in the end, that everything he'd said he wanted was actually what he really wanted.  The whole show he worried over making decisions and letting people (his family) down, etc. if he didn't make the right choice... he was never going to gamble on anything.  

I really do wish them the best and hope they have a lifetime of happiness together... if that's what they both want.

ETA: I do hope they eventually win me over as a couple. I like Whitney as an individual. Chris...well, I'm not sold on. Right now, I'm still on the, I think they can do better boat. Maybe that will change in the future.

We can blame the edit all we want but why is Chris still unable to say he would still have chosen Whitney over Becca? He cant because it would be a lie. He wanted Becca and his parents who were not watching an edited version saw that. They knew he wanted Becca at MTP and that is that.

Doesn't matter that he wanted Becca or not as she didn't want him. End of story to me. After that is just a futile dream of what 'could have been'.

The BODY LANGUAGE Chris displayed when he was with Becca seemed more natural, manly and sensual than anything I saw when he was with Whitney. "seemed" being the operative word.  This isn't the first time that the lead and F2 get the more physical/chemistry edit.  Emily and Arie, Andi and Nick, Travis and Moana, Bevin and Andy etc, etc, etc.   Editing is magic.  It can make certain things appear and it can make things disappear.  This is why the old time sleuthers preach to look beyond the edit.  It's not to be trusted.

You are right about that! but ATFR was live and unedited....something was off with Chris and Whitney BL.

Maybe it doesn't matter who he didn't choose, but that doesn't stop us from discussing what we think.

Lesson learned....the hard way.

I'm still scratching my head over Chris actually proposing -- not because of Whitney* -- but because he was in such a state of turmoil emotionally. It's not a great place to be when making such an important life decision. As it has been mentioned, all those crying scenes in the barn from the previews were cut. To me, those had to be about Becca. It makes no sense to me otherwise...why would he be crying like that if he wasn't experiencing a sense of loss. In the past, he shed tears for hurting the girl, but did he think he hurt Becca? Doubtful to me that those tears were all about her feelings. I think they were tears over what might have been. Throw in the fact he was pleading with Becca to get answers the night before the FRC leads me to wonder if DWTS was TPTB's carrot to get him to propose. (I think lurker's comments about Chris not being liquid rich are spot on. I can see DWTS having great appeal on multiple levels.)

*I actually do believe that Whitney and Chris have a shot in the real world. They want the same things in life; and once the spotlight is off them, they have a chance to build a solid relationship. Whitney has shown her fortitude in how she has handled all that life has thrown at her. I don't think she will crumble under this. If she continues to want a life with Chris then I don't see her quitting. I think Chris needed to get Becca out of the way in order to fully give his heart to Whitney. I think he is on his way. I didn't see him as a deer in the headlights last night, but rather as a man who is emotionally and physically exhausted. To be clear, Whitney is not a default F1. Chris rejected what Becca was offering and chose a life with Whitney. He chose her.

Sorry, I know this Becca's thread...so forgive me for getting off track. I'm actually excited for what the future holds for Becca. Personally, I don't see Becca's lack of tears as her just going through a role. In her exit interview, she indicated that she was experiencing a state of shock -- probably from GG's death and Chris's rejection. From what I see on her SM, her strength comes from within. Even in the hardest times, there can be a sense of peace. I see her as processing what just happened and her trying to make some sense out of it. It doesn't mean she wasn't feeling deeply. She just wasn't crushed by it all.

The magazines get their info from the people who are creating the story. You can't always believe sources either. I remember Tessa's roommate (a source) had most believing that Tessa was NOT the F1 even though some of us sleuthers clearly saw the dogtags sitting on the FRC table. I'll never forget the boards blowing up when Tessa's blue dress was spotted in a before commercial preview. Sleuthing screencaps most times led to the truth of the situation just like it did this season.

True. But, I it seems like Becca isn't the focus, but Chris is.

Great point. It is also important to mention that Becca wanted him just not how the SHOW wanted her to want him. The "show" expects an engagement after knowing the lead for 30 hours or so. She could not agree to that. Period. ;)
