And was being manipulated by the producers to fully explore what kind of a relationship he could have with each of his final two - at least they were if they did what other leads have reported they do. The show wants an unpredictable ending - which could go either way - and they edit and manipulate to get that.

Exactly! Towards the end of every season we frequently hear the leads say how they had to compartmentalize each relationship and I'd think this would be especially true of Chris.

I don't think that Chris ever "acted" with any of his final 5 women (thinking Britt vs. Carly). He dug each of those women for different reasons and to varying degrees. Some of the relations stalled. Some ended sooner that he may have initially expected. Others continued to move forward at varying paces.  

I don't doubt for a minute that Chris, who giggled like a schoolgirl with Becca on ep 6, was totally into her from ep6 onto FD. That said, I do think hearing that she's still a virgin threw him for a loop as I am going to guess that the 33 year old Chris has not run into a virgin since high school.

I also think that when it gets down to F3 every lead is exhausted, confused and overwhelmed. Teary eyed Chris is acting no different than Sean who recently made this very clear in a podcast on AfterBuzz Reality Reunion.  

All this said ... when Chris is forced to show his hand, I am still betting he will pick Whitney and tearfully say goodbye to Becca.

Whitney has been his "sure thing" since episode 3. He did a great job of figuring out his relationships with all of the other women on the show.

TRUE, Chris gave Britt the GDR at Big&Rich concert as Becca fans like to point out. But, he had given Whit GDR prior week and Whit got 1-on-1 in very next episode. I bet producers told him to explore ALL relationships.

Whitney, IMO, is not only who Chris' heart wants but also who his mind wants. She is truly HIS full package.

What a satisfying job to see results like that! Who cares about revenues and expenses when you see the final miracle of your efforts! That is a beautiful picture!

^^ the guy who wrote the link has an AMAZING podcast called "the right reasons." The first 18+ minutes are hilarious commentary on this weeks episode. The podcast and this guys column are MUSTS for me.
