Every season at this point in the story, we get blasted with ideas meant to create doubt. That's one of the most consistent patterns of this franchise. In addition, everyone with a strong dislike for RS is putting forth any theory that might prove him wrong.
Personally, I see a much stronger connection between Chris and Whitney than between Chris and Becca. I do see Whitney as the more mature of the two women, but it has nothing to do with virginity. I think Whitney has a much clearer idea of who she is and what she wants. I think Becca is a lovely young woman who needs a little more time for self-discovery before she's ready for marriage.
I do as well, and like you it's rooted in maturity. This is not Chris's first rodeo and he's developed a good sense of what he needs in his life at this point (and how he sees his needs now is probably quite different than how he saw them in his early 20s). He's not just thinking "physically" - he's looking at those things that will blend into his life and last. Becca is a sweet girl but not really sure what she wants and what is going to make her happy and she has no life experiences yet to guide her thoughts. Whitney knows who she is and what's important to her (and what isn't) and that's a stark contrast IMHO to Chris.
Chris found himself in an unusual position with his final 4 women. Jade had to go - no matter how much Chris might claim that her past had nothing to do with it that's simply not true - especially in the community Chris is a part of in Iowa; Jade just wouldn't be accepted. And while she brought drama and scandal to the show she couldn't be the next Bachelorette for the same reasons she couldn't be a farmer's wife in Arlington. Kaitlin could be the next bachelorette (and it appears that she will be) so she had to go at F3. Which left Chris with no choice but to make Becca F2 and had to make her look like a plausible F1. And I think that feeds the consistent pattern you mention - F2 always has to seem plausible - usually MORE plausible than F1 - so the edit will do its best to make things look that way and we get blasted with ideas and angles to make a case for F2 to be F1.

That description makes me even more sure that Whitney is F1....I'll bet Whitney loved it and they probably talked about how he was going to answer that question. "A mother is a lover".
Yep ... I don't think he's capable of saying too much about Whitney without giving it all away. When he left it at, "mother," I just cracked up. And think about what the word "mother" means to someone like Chris who said on camera that his five year plan to get married and have a family started 10 years ago.
My guess is describing Whitney as "mother" is like saying she is a woman Chris would like to ...
- have as a lover
- marry
- impregnate
- give birth to his children
- be a life partner in raising those children
It's actually really high praise when you think about it ... like a guy saying, "that woman is going to be the MOTHER of my children one day."
So just asking this here, but if he is so anxious to be a father and husband then how does delaying the relationship even longer to go on DWTS make sense? I don't mean this as that he didn't pick Whitney, I can see scenarios for both women being F1, more that Chris has said lots of things and his actions are not necessarily matching the words.
DWTS to me is a diversion and fun and all those things, but it isn't the move of a man committing to marry and have kids as soon as possible. The hours are too long and I don't think it will end the relationship, but it takes his primary focus off of it.

Re: Bachelor 19 - Whitney Bischoff #2
I think the obstacle of Whitney not being able to leave her job to live in rural Arlington may be more in Chris' mind than in Whitney's. I think she is very sincere in being ready for motherhood and may see herself as a future stay-at-home mom. She may want to work until she is pregnant so a temporary compromise would be nice.
Chris seems to really be stuck on "who will move to Arlington" and since his former fiancé didn't want to live on the farm IMO he seems to suspect other women are "her". When he talks to any of the girls, or in ITMS, about Arlington he isn't exactly complimentary. We haven't heard AT ALL about life on his farm, except with Jade, even though that is where the most hours would be spent. How close by are the neighbors? What do people do for entertainment nearby? Are there many similar age people/couples nearby?

I think DWTS is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and anyone who's invited and physically able would be crazy to turn it down. Of course, that's JMO. I just know that if I were Chris's mother, sister, or F1, I'd be encouraging him to do it.

I totally agree. Strike while the iron is hot. I'm sure they will make it work, esp. if the F1 keeps her job for now and only goes to LA for the show...

ITA. I'd do it in a heartbeat and I have no desire to be on tv. It's such a short time and didn't stop Sean/Cat from getting married relatively soon.Bhaka wrote:stuckinsc wrote:

Count me in here too!! I would be psyched. Pretty sure that Catherine got designer clothes to wear on the show and made friends with other cast members so that would be fun too.
Plus his commitment ends in 14 weeks! I don't think that anyone expected Chris & Whitney to be married by late May... even those rumors of an August wedding/9 month engagement seems a bit fast. And ... don't forget the pay day!
While I have no clue what Whitney's plans might be while Chris is on the show, I am guessing we'll see her smiling face in the audience on a fairly regular basis and bet that she'll have her stack of BRIDES magazines on the plane with her en route to LA.
