KB_Mom wrote:^ I also think being a stay at home mom is great if you can do it. Not working was not an option for me, so I gave up my career track to switch to work I could do from home when my kids were asleep at night, and I would not trade the experience for anything in the world.
What surprised me about Whitney, or at least what they showed us of the conversation, which may be misleading, is that she seemed to say she would just chuck the career and move, and be a stay at home wife, before the children come. Maybe I am just reading too much into what was probably a snippet of a conversation. We've discussed here before the flexibility of nursing and I guess I was just expecting her to say something along the lines of she is not committed to staying anchored in Chicago at the fertility center and would move to Iowa and pursue the nursing opportunities there.
Again the conversation they showed may be misleading or I am mis- interpreting it, but I just got a bad vibe about rushing into giving up her life for a guy she's known for 8 weeks.
I wouldn't either, and my kids are so appreciative of it.
I took that whole conversation as a positive. Through out this whole season they've been showing Chris as insecure about where he lives. Arlington is so small, and could anyone possible move there to be with him? They showed that conversation that she had no doubts about moving, and that being a wife and mother are a priority in her life. I don't think it necessarily means she's moving right this second, but when the dust settles, she has no problem with it.

Whitney could keep her job in Chicago and live in Arlington at least for awhile. All she needs is the right schedule. She could work MTW and then head to Arlington for 4 days. It's only a 4 hour drive. My husband used to commute 2 hours one way 5 days a week.
I was never a SAHM. Didn't want to be. I liked my job and I had the overwhelming support of my husband and my parents. If my husband or I couldn't make an appointment my Dad would step in every time. He cried the day he had to take my baby girl to get her first shots. Also, the company I worked for would allow us to take the summer off without pay and I took advantage of that for the 10 years they offered it. It wasn't until my oldest was in high school that I felt the need to be more of a "home" presence. So I went PT. I worked while they schooled and was home when they were. People have been puzzled by my choice to wait until they were "almost grown" to be at home. My answer was always, It's the almost grown kids that have the most potential to court trouble and I'm at home to make sure it doesn't happen.
My point is that women should be able to make the choices they feel are right for their family without judgements from other people especially other women.

I didn't see GMA (Georgia had a little snow this morning and the local ABC affiliate is acting like it's a blizzard and disrupting my morning TV watching. ha!) Is it a for sure that Chris is doing DWTS? I didn't see his name on the GMA twitter feed.

I am in NC and the same thing happened to me - no GMA. Tom Bergen gave a hint that the last cast member maybe Chris as he has yet to "ROSE" or something to that effect. Witney Carson is the only pro not paired yet. They think Chris will be announced during the season finale of TB.

I would think IF she is final 1 and IF they are still together, she will go to LA to be with him. Maybe that is why she "quit" her job. I think IF she is final 1, she has bigger problems to worry about after last night's show and looks like the upcoming one. They both do no matter who he chooses.

It is just too easy. DWTS. Whitney doesn't have a partner and Tom B. says I am told he couldn't "rose" eerrrr rise so early. Lara then says "Subtle".

This is totally off topic, but I wonder if Whitney does win, will she invite her step-father to the wedding? I wonder why she has never mentioned that her mother remarried and that the marriage lasted around 12 years. There was definitely a step-father in the picture. Jefferson County KY court records are available on line.

Chris has been in LA for over a week now and it appears Whitney went to the beach with the girls and is now back in Chicago. If he stays out there for the entire show, it makes it a bit more of a challenge for her to spend quality time with him long distance, especially if she is working full-time.

No one is even sure she went on that girls trip and she's not working full-time so it may be doable.MiniDiva wrote:soccermom333 wrote:Diana wrote:I wonder if Whitney will be in California with Chris while he does DWTS or if she'll stay in Chicago.

Did she say she isn't working full time, or where did that come from. Sorry if I missed it.
