I think it happens every season. It definitely happened last season with Nick. I usually tend not to believe the conspiracy theories, though I guess I should have with Brooks! I was a huge Nick fan, and didn't even believe them then. It certainly makes the board more lively than everyone believing RS at face value!!

Evie-not sure if you were here for Andi's season but you would have 100% thought I was hired by ABC to question the spoiler as I was convinced EVERYTHING was a conspiracy. Nutty was regularly sending me solid questions to walk me off the ledge but I wouldn't budge. And I can promise you I am just a working mom who once in a while gets over the top invested in this show. When you "fall in love" with a contestant, as I did with both Nick & Des' Chris Siefried (call me a sl*t ), I guess we fans can get a little passionate.

Sleuthing keeps the board lively for sure and fans see what they want to see as Jeepers noted so there's just no arguing with them when someone gets on a roll.

I never get as invested in Bachelor but since episode 3 I have thought that Whitney was F1 and that's without reading the spoiler. If the spoiler was Becca or Kaitlyn as F1, I might be getting a bit more into sleuthing to prove why Whitney is the One.

I don't think it's much of a stretch at all to assume the spoiler could be wrong this season. What exactly is there to hint at Whitney being the one, post-filming, except RS saying so? I've seen way more hints in the opposite direction. I really think this season's ending is still wide open.

Honestly, I think a lot came last year from josh and andi and even other seasons because the lead and F1 were so into social media. Whitney and Chris stink at SM.

ALso the "clues" about becca being seen in LA I don't buy mostly cause she was seen out and about.

Yep! Before social media so it was really all about screen caps, what we saw onscreen and people with "sources." I don't think there were blogs from the lead and Chris Harrison to make us all confused either. There's SO MUCH for folks to analyze now that it's easy to see what you want to see.

I like all of the F3, but not particularly sold on Chris.  As I stated in a post in Becca's thread, I don't dislike him, but I don't really like him all that much either.  In general I think he's a good guy, for the most part, but there are some not so shining moments as well.  

So, I don't find myself on any one particular ship.  I fully see how the spoiler could be and more than likely is right and didn't or haven't really questioned it, until recently.  As early as Epi 3, I wondered about Beccas's connection because even though she was reserved on kissing him, they were quite friendly with the hand holding and all.  We may not have seen interactions, but they indeed had them.  They would not be as friendly and comfortable towards/with each other, if not.  And while SC'ing, that is evident.  They been hidden just a lot of Whitney and Chris were.  We seem to get a lot of both couples interactions in deleted scenes not on the actual show.  Silly editors...

I personally don't care who ends up where in order of F1-3, as they all seem happy now.  As long as I get a twirl, kiss, and happy couple at the AFTR (with as little drama as possible), the season ends well for me.  I just want to see how all the puzzle pieces fit together and right now, IMO, all are not adding up at the moment.

I just posted this on the Chris & WHitney fan thread. I am not as concerned with SM because that's a marketing, self promotion tool. What I am focusing on is how these two work onscreen and off screen. I would say Whitney is the ONLY one in Chris' top 6 (or higher) who I see ...

-Moving to Iowa and truly understands what it means to live in Midwest and handle the weather (brrrrr!)

-Not just on show for the experience or to further a career as performer/model/actress

-Is actually in a place in her life where she wants to settle down and have kids

-Has been in serious relationship before so has something to compare what she feels for Chris vs. just falling in Bach Bubble love

-Lives in the same city (Chicago) as his beloved sisters so it's a place he knows and loves

-Is a strong woman who leads in the relationship. He's got THREE sisters and a strong mother so I am sure they bossed him around and he was only to happy to let them and then escape to what he knows/loves best: farming and football (see more below)

-Is take charge/spontaneous so can create her own fun living in Iowa

Plus, Chris just walks around beaming pride & adoration about every little thing she does. I know that Becca fans are so focused on him doing the chasing. Well, he needs to because she sure was not and ABC is pressuring him put on a show. But Chris LIKES strong women, grew up with strong women. From his ep 4 blog ...

I agree - I'm beginning to question the spoiler. Sometimes I wish I remained unspoiled, because since that moment in late January when I cracked and looked, I found reasons to like Whitney and root for her, myself wanting to be happy in the end if the spoiler was true(LOVED Jef with one f and initially was upset when they broke up, but do I care now?...NO!...liked Chris, but thought Des could make Brooks fall in love with her - desperately and completely...didn't happen- but post show, seeing how Chris stood by her and reading their tweets...it was obvious how adorable they are outside the bubble...loved Catherine the whole time, knew the spoiler the whole time, every week - I got more invested, and then got worried before the finale with sleuthing from this board). This time, I really like both women, but have found Whitney's demonstrativeness, conviction, and spunk endearing.

Sleuthing can go both ways. I will not be surprised at the outcome no matter what. That's a nice feeling. Now, to even it out, I'm trying to look for interactions between Becca and Chris that I find adorable.

She being a virgin I don't think matters in the long run to Chris.

Chris saying that Whitney brings out the best in him..makes him want to be a better man are HUGE statements on his part, imho.

I completely concur with the earlier posts regarding Chris's one armed hold on Whitney being due to keeping them steady. I saw that when I made those caps. However, the cap that gave me pause was this one.

On the Tuesday after the premiere, I capped it, recognized as one of the likely F3 (I was unspoiled) due to location, but I noted the BL immediately. That was among my first red flags for "the blonde" as well as the over abundance of her face in the preview. I was so certain the girl I was to learn is Becca would be F1 based on that preview. One of the reasons I came to the dark side was because I was so confused by her lack of presence in the early episodes.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer for those who believe the spoiler, I just thought I'd share. Some seasons I can see it and some I can't. This season I can't. If I'm wrong, no big deal. I really like Whitney, too.

Perhaps Chris's BL can simply be explained by sea sickness...so he feels the need to steady himself no matter what. Maybe it's as simple as that and I've made it more.

Exactly ... Becca lives in southern California so is it really such a stretch that she is being seen in LA??

I know this is Samantha ... NOT Becca ... but Samantha is her good friend pre season. Becca moved to Southern California to be with her sister and brother in law (opportunity to rub shoulders with NFL) and other stars and stayed for a reason. She must like the Southern California lifestyle. As a frequent visitor, I can attest ... it's friggin awesome so I don't blame her.

Becca dated someone who went on the View so she is no stranger to reality shows. She has a very good friend (Samantha) who gets to walk on beach and go to parties with Hollywood stars like Jeremy Piven.

I just don't think for one minute that the lovely Becca fell in anything but Bachelor butterfly stage with Chris. Remember, the more Becca pours it on for the cameras, the better her chances are for being considered for Bachelorette. No wonder her big sister was so ticked!! By editing the family HTD as if her family thought she was frigid and not into men, TPTB sent a huge message that Becca was not going to get the Bachelorette spot.

So yep ... I don't need any SM proof that WHitney is F1. I have all the proof that I need that Becca and Kaityln for that matter are NOT. I am not claiming they are "wrong reasons" girls. As I said in another thread, if Arie was the F1, I might be paying attention more to the Becca and Kaityln for F1 thread but just not going to believe it. RS nailed it this time and it was TOO EASY for him to do.
