I do not believe the edit that Whitney was given that she is over confident is really correct for how she felt. This photo shows to me an appropriate level of uncertainty driving to the rose ceremony. She is a confident woman, but also realistic. Of course she would feel uncertain driving to the ceremony. Even if Chris might have told her that she was F1, there have to be a lot of emotions driving to this event. Her nose does not look red, like she was crying, but she could be a bit teary.

Honestly, after the whole Des mix-up, he admitted that he had been lazy and didn't research the information thoroughly and wait for multiple confirmations before he released it. He said that he would never be that lazy again and I believe him. If he got it wrong (which I still don't think he did), it's because it's Des 2.0, where it was an elaborate plan to trick RS. Even people here have posted sources saying it's Whitney, with not one source saying it's Becca (except that one random Twitter account). Reminds me of when multiple users here confirmed 100% it was Brooks, but with a lack of detail. Could be the same situation, but I don't think RS would run like this because of an Instagram picture.

I'm not saying he can't be wrong. I'm hoping that he is. That's why I brought up the brooks situation, because this season also seems to have a lot of sources but not a lot of detail. I'm saying that he wouldn't never base his spoilers on ONE instagram picture, like the OP said.

Yes, I think this is real emotion too - that for all the people who say (like RS) that she is out to 'win' the show, I see someone who has left the show far behind and is completely present to this real moment in her life.

Just had an alternate thought. While I am still firmly planted in the W camp, I will say that IMO, I think he would be more likely to do DWTS if he were just going to continue on getting to know Becca better and so he lets W go. Since we know he is doing DWTS, it is always possible that Chris spoke to Sean and then he and W decided to go for it. Like I said, still in W camp. As to tptb being considerate of Becca's situation, I find it very unlikely that it would make a bit of difference. I come from a close family too, but I think even in the corporate world a great grandmother is a little out of the box for compassionate leave of absence. There was someone who lost her grandmother in an earlier show, if I recall.

Meredith on Bob's season. She stayed and did not go to her grandmother's funeral.  She was rewarded with the Bachelorette.

I agree. We have seen her teary and emotional - on the MTP date when she offered a toast to Chris and his family - and again when she said in an ITM that this could all be taken away from her. She may be "all in" but she's still realistic and aware what could happen.

On Sean's season Catherine was able to say she "wasn't nervous because she trusted Sean", but "she was excited" about the prospects of a proposal - which suggests that Sean told her she was F1. In fact, for anyone who happens to have followed the dialog on their LCD, we could actually hear Sean clue her in that she was F1. But somehow I don't think that Chris did something like this on this season; I'm not sure why I feel like he didn't but I just think he held that close to his vest - maybe only because they gave us what Sean said and haven't given us anything similar that Chris has said - yet.

From some past seasons we've seen that all the suspense and build-up to create viewer uncertainty about the final choice climaxes with the fantasy date RC where it's down to just two. The last episode (MTP and LCD) sometimes is, IMHO, incredibly lopsided and makes the final choice totally obvious. For example, on Brad 2 he was totally shut down towards Chantal on the LCD. And on Sean's season he was totally shut down to Lindsay - he barely touched her on their date but was all over Catherine. I guess by that time the show feels they have already got you watching and there's little need for more suspense so they instead give you reasons to see why the choice made was made.

A little OT, but Sean disclosed in his book that he was granted time with Catherine off camera the night before the FRC, regarding needing/wanting a wife that could challenge him in his faith. He needed to know if Catherine was able and willing to be this kind of woman. It was a rare in moment in the bach world. Sean had to promise that he would give Catherine no indication of his final decision. But, come on, woman's intuition...I'm guessing Catherine sensed a proposal was coming.
