J, I understand the "cooler heads" but there is always a lot of negativity surrounding the couples in the beginning, including the lauded A&R and sometimes it pans out and sometimes it doesn't. Like you said, we have different perspectives and I'm cool with that too. :smooch:

You are certainly welcome to offer differing opinions, but is it not also ok to disagree with the opinions and state reasons why? I thought that was the whole point of the board. Otherwise, if we are only supposed to engage each other to agree and say "good post", I guess I'll go elsewhere.

And again, it's a bit insulting to assume that a fan's opinion is automatically less legitimate, insightful or ultimately accurate than someone with a supposedly "cooler" head. IMO of course.

No offense to dentists, it's a wonderful profession, but since when does that make Ashley of superior status to either a successful winemaker or a successful construction manager (maybe the sister got confused and thought JP was a construction worker)? I find that attitude, if that's really the bee in her sister's bonnet, to be pretty amusing, considering having seen all three families, it's clear that JP's and Ben's are at a somewhat higher socio-economic status than her own. Not that it should matter any, but if Chrystie thinks that Ashley should hold out for somebody "better", I think she's a bit delusional.

I personally more and more think the whole thing was set up by producers to create one final obstacle in the Ash/JP love story, and the sister went along because she wanted the attention for her "media career".

Oh those devils.

I'm loving watching the couple on the show, but actually think there could be issues later too. I'm a totally selfish voyeur though, so as long as I get my twirl and sappy, lovey-doveyness at the ATFR, I'm good. My unpopular opinion? That toe scene with Ben freaked me out because she was totally and completely smashed. She also showed that tendency during The Bachelor. Maybe it's a good sign that we haven't seen her act all goofy with JP because those goofy moments seem to be prompted by copious amounts of alcohol.

The story I saw on TV for the last nine weeks between JP and Ashley is completely and totally endearing. I'm thrilled to get to enjoy some escapism in a (probably mostly manufactured and artificial) love story versus the typical train wreck amusement I usually get from this franchise. Ryan as The Bachelor? It'll probably only be an outlet for snark for me, but I'm loving the sappy side I get to experience now for as long as it'll take me! (And totally acknowledge I'm not one of those cooler heads. :awesome: )
