Just my opinion here, but I think that Ashley's sister had a crush on Brad herself. From what I remember of the hometown date when Brad visited them, the sister was really 'into' Brad. Therefore, IMO, it appears that she is looking at the two final guys from her own personal preference perspective, as to 'the' guy she would choose for herself. :greenman:

Just my thoughts.

Maybe, since Brad appears to be single now, she (the sister) should look him up..... :scootin: and maybe hook up with him. giggling

That is terrible. I just don't know what was going through her sister's mind at that point. Didn't care one bit for how hurtful she was being to her sister. I hope it's water under the bridge but what a rocky start. Plus mom just sits there and doesn't say anything really. Odd family dynamic if you ask me. JMO trying not to be judgmental.

), but if Chrystie really was not prompted/encouraged by the producers to "make good TV", then she is really a judgmental jerk, and does not have her sister's best interests at heart, no matter what she claims. And JP is a saint for being able to not only fully accept her apology, but to try to diffuse the situation by making excuses for her inexcusable behavior. It's more than she deserves IMO, but he's obviously doing it out of his love for Ashley. What a good man.

Of course, I still tend to believe that some of her ridiculous bias was urged on by the producers. But then, what do I know, as I was recently reminded and reprimanded by the self-appointed posting police, I wasn't there. :winkie:

eta Chrystie's poor judgment in men can be summed up in the fact that she thought Brad was a better catch/fit for her sister than JP. That says it all. And did she really say she thought Ash and Brad had more chemistry? I think she needs to see an ophthalmologist stat!

Oh and I think Ashley might have been better off with a real life bear, provided she kept her apt stocked with honey and berries and bamboo (if it was a Panda), than Brad. Please.

I have to confess... Chrystie didn't say all that much in that ABC preview that is too-too disturbing, but... WOW!!! Those tears came out like Niagara Falls with Ashley. The "gap" between JP and Ben must have been MIGHTY WIDE. Already she starts attacking Chrystie about her probably liking Ben better!

Poor Ben... he has to watch all this.

I'm curious about JP making the statement at the ATFR, that JP and Chrystie had moved way past that. Was it resolved during the finale, or is it possible that they allowed JP some time with Ashley's family while the show was airing? That statement kind of makes it sound like they have talked about it since then.

I'm guessing that maybe they spoke on the phone and hashed everything out? The lead is usually allowed to tell their family if they choose to, so Chrystie probably knew Ash got engaged to JP. They've had two and a half months to work things out since then, but I can't imagine that her opinion didn't change almost immediately once the show began to air, especially since JP quickly became the fan favorite, with women all over the country swooning over him and talking about what a doll he was. Bet she felt like the big idjiot that she was then. :yes:

Just as a reminder, in case anyone is interested, here is a Youtube link to Ashley's HTD with Brad. You can see that the sister was quite enamored by Brad. And don't forget, this was only this past February....

I agree. I'm not sure why everyone is so mad at her. Other than the idiotic comment about Brad, I don't think she said anything wrong.

Even so, I'm utterly mystified why Ashley has suddenly lost all speech pattern other than whining "but whyyyyyy?" How about telling her how safe and happy she is with him? How he's been her rock throughout this whole show? No? No go? no no

I'm not mad at her, but I did feel bad for Ashley. It couldn't have been too pleasant to hear that.
