I looked at some of the other former leads and Andi numbers seem a little suspect to me. Ali's on E yet she only has about half the followers. Sean is the only one close. I know that she has fans but I haven't gotten the feeling that the general audience of the show loved her.

Maybe it could be that Twitter back in Ali's season was not as much a phenomenon as it is now. Also part of the attraction of Twitter is to be able to follow the personal lives of celebs. And I don't know if Ali has that much going on social wise, IMO.

^Andi's twitter following isn't that big. It's her IG following that's in question.

Why would anyone be concerned who wants to see their personal "photo album" because that is what IG is in essence. Nonsense. And to pay others to see it??

Some people want to pick up freebies and also earn $$$ via SM. 
 I imagine companies are looking at "celebrity's" fan number and deciding who they want to pay or have advertise for them based on how many fans that celebrity will reach with a tweet or pic.  It's a lot cheaper to pay/gift a celeb than to run an ad. 
It's the new version of swag bag. A kind of subtle take on The Shopping Channel.

Inflate the numbers inflate the ego inflate the fakeness, it all goes hand in hand IMO.

When comparing Andi's IG to others it looks out of whack. To the normal viewer it would be more of a Oh wow reaction. To those familiar with fake accounts, it's more of a it's all fake reaction. Her followers are those who watch TB'ette. It's not like she has new people following her because of her career or a business or she's famous. Sean is close in IG followers however IMO his followers have steadily increased for various reasons and not just TB. His faith, many who had never watched TB, and now his book, etc.

When you look at her twitter and compare that to others, that's tells another story. For example Emily has over 100,000 more followers than Andi, Melissa Rycroft only 54,000 less than Andi. There are followers that follow for the sole purpose to be negative.

For me the moral of the story, is the number of followers on any SM can't be taken at face value. Like Kasha says, who cares! JMHO

I guess my own point is, I am so selective with who I want to see my own personal pictures. Take in consider I am by society's definition "an old woman" and invisible. :Nod: 
It's not like any of my own personal stuff is that interesting to anyone else. I know that. However, I value my privacy. I also, have strange views on stalkers and all the other weirdos society has lurking around every corner. So this is a no brainer to me. 
Thank you for all you "youngsters" who take the time to inform me and other oldie, but goodie members.   I certainly understand the advertisement issue and goodie bag thing.   I don't know that it would be worth selling my personal self for however, but I am not a "star"---even in my own mind.

The more followers the more a media company is willing to pay/sponsor... its definitely a money thing.

Does every picture have to be some sort of kissy face or weird face? I remember scolding my kids when they were around 10 years old not to do that in pictures because it just looks stupid and ruins the picture. I know kids do it, but almost 30-somethings? I guess I'm old (or maybe it's just because I don't care for her )

No--it's zombie posing. It gets old fast.
