Men get as far as "She was hot, so I took her to the concert". And done.
for sure, but I was talking more along the lines of why do women never blame the man in situations like this? Chris was so much more responsible for the situation, but it was Britt they blamed. Women do it all the time and it's ridiculous. They don't want to have a reason to dislike the guy, so they make excuses for him. Isn't that what happens even if a guy has an affair? the other woman gets blamed for luring the poor unsuspecting guy astray and the guy gets forgiven cuz it wasn't his fault

I do agree with that (notice how the media always always pits Jennifer Aniston against Angelina Jolie, and Brad Pitt just gets a complete pass), but in this case, it is possible that the girls did complain about Chris and they just didn't show it to keep up the image as him being the "most sincere" Bachelor. We did hear Carly blame him for shushing her and kissing Britt in front of all the girls when he woke her up.
I do think that Chris was more responsible than Britt. He is the lead and needs to take everyone's feelings into consideration. But, I do think that there is a huge difference between how Britt came back to the group date with the rose and how Kaitlyn did. One was showing off, and the other was not.

Also, they may have realised that producers had some hand in what happened so were more willing to give him a pass?

Re: Bachelor 19 - Britt Karolina Nilsson
I didn't blame Britt that much for that one although there was a pattern of her making sure the other women saw or knew about her "close connection" with Chris. Remember her telling them about the nap? Obviously he handled the end of the GD badly and the date was planned to make sure it was harder on the others. Normally a GD rose is given out and then that person gets the rest of the evening with the lead.
I don't find Britt to be naturally vivacious or outgoing. I think it's all her persona and just convinces me that she's as fake as I thought.

All the girls talk about their dates and their kisses etc. Britt didn't do anything different than the others did but she was clearly the front runner at that point - the other girls took her much more seriously than they did MacKenzie or Megan or Ashleigh etc. like in every other season, the FIR gets a target on her back by both the other girls in the house and the viewers, if the person isn't the fan favorite.

This bugged the crap out of me too. Seriously, how was Chris or TPTB choosing Britt to be taken to the concert her fault. Anyone of those other women would have run off and gone with him just like Britt did. And how gentlemanly of Chris to bring Britt back to a room full of obviously upset women and then run away to leave Britt to deal with it, then hang Britt out to dry in his blog that he didn't expect her to tell the other women about the concert. That whole thing stunk and Chris's behavior was not that of a gentleman at all IMO. I haven't really liked Britt all season but I felt bad for her with that date.

She's not my favorite by any means but like you, I feel like she's taking the heat when Chris caused much of the friction between her and the girls. I'm finding Chris to be very weak and almost cowardly. I think the girls sense it too as they have no trouble either confronting him or talking about the other girls. He blindly listens to anything anyone says to him and is extremely easy to manipulate. He THINKS he was taking care of the situation with Britt but in truth - he was being manipulated by Carly instead Chris was naive enough to think that he was going to be the lead and that his actions would never be questioned and when he was, he either ran away or blamed someone else but he never owned his actions.

I felt the same way. It was actually nice to finally enjoy him on the HTDs as he has failed to impress me for much of the rest of the season. The editors aren't doing him many favors, but I do wonder if just like in Andi's season, if he really just doesn't give them much to work with.
What stood out to me in Epi 7, was that Jade was far more negative about Arlington than Britt. Now I can believe that Jade was smart enough to keep those thoughts to herself, where as Britt being around the other girls was at a disadvantage that her initial disappointment was harder to hide.

I think if any girl said they'd love to live in Arlington, they'd be lying. Britt came to have a realistic view of it - that he didn't actually live in that town, he lived in a beautiful remote home but he travelled to other city's for shopping and entertainment.

I totally agree. I thought she did genuinely decide it was okay because of him. Honestly if he is that easily swayed she is better off without him. Every girl deserves a man who has the spine to stand up for them.

Really? I didn't believe her for a minute. There's no way she was moving to Arlington. The others all admitted it was smaller than they thought but she's the one overly enthusiastic about it to Chris. That wasn't what did her in anyway or at least not the last straw. It was how rude she was in front of the others.
I really hope Britt doesn't get the lead. I enjoy the Bachelorette because of the guys but I've never gone in actively disliking one. I've come out that way a couple of times, Jen & Andi. The ones I can't stand are the "it's all about me" gals and Britt fits that mold to a T.

I said this in the Epi thread but yes, I kind of believed her. I swore when I left this place I hated it, but I came back for my husband but he was worth it.
I also didn't see Britt being any ruder than any other girl except possibly when she questioned him about the HTD rose. That is okay though right? We are all entitled to our own opinions.
Oh and I actively disliked Emily but her awesome guys won me over and I tried to keep an open mind on Andi, but she turned out to be as bad as I thought. I liked Jen and DeAnna and could not stand them by the end of their seasons. Of course, I disliked Aaron, Bob, Jesse, Travis, and Ben by the end of their seasons. And I disliked Lorenzo, Jason and Jake from start to finish and still do.
