I feel sad to hear this.
And one day I turned around and looked back and saw that each step I’d taken was a choice, to go left, to go right, to go forward or even to not go at all. Every day every man has a choice between right and wrong, between love and hate, and sometimes between life and death and the sum of those choices becomes your life-Jamie Fraser

Lyrics adapted below from poem:
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
- Mary Elizabeth Frye

Dear Nick,
It has been a privilege to watch your journey these past couple of months. The simple and honest way you questioned the nature of love completely engaged me. Is love a choice? Is love finding the one person that lights up your world? Is it both?
But beyond your internal debate on the nature of love, the courage you demonstrated to open yourself up to new experiences, to conquer your own self-imposed beliefs and limitations and allow your gut to drive a carefully considered, logical leap of faith was awe-inspiring. Overcoming both the show’s external challenges (structured access to Andi, group dates, castmates that questioned your reasons and motives, etc…) and your own internal fears, was simply heroic.
Of course, I wish that this chapter in your life would have ended differently; that you would have found a reciprocal love. Even worse, as you noted in your recent blog, the fact that your genuine experience was denied, even trivialized by Andi was extremely painful to watch… I can only imagine how it felt to actually live it. I am humbled by your ability to remain thoughtful, modest, articulate and kind in the face of what you experienced and the media blitz that followed.
I take comfort in your social media ‘clues’: #incredible experience #amazing #willneverforget #itsthelittlethings #no shame #livelikeEric #turntheothercheek #laughatyourself #blessed… which all point to your positive and optimistic outlook. My heart tells me this experience has transformed you by reaffirming the power of love, faith and certainty of self. I look forward to continuing to watch your life expand exponentially.
Hugs, Sue
You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life. – Steve Jobs

This is one of my very favorite poems. It has helped modify my attitude in so many ways and given me so much strength. I try to spend a some daily time focusing on where this poem takes me and honestly, I feel so much better about life and my place in it.
Thank you for the posting.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, bye Felicia!
