The pleasure in being a Nicholas Viall supporter       throughout this silly tv show has been validation that this man is a vanguard of the highest order.  

As Mura pointed out upstream (thanks for the mention, my friend), I have always been well aware of his imperfections.  However we are all flawed so really the focus in any "judgement" of character is much more about how equipped a person is to rise above their imperfections when faced with adversity.  On that account, Nick has effortlessly soared.  

The capacity of Nick to elevate the simplicity of a formulaic reality tv to debate about vulnerability, intimacy, unconditional love, "making love", what should be the terms of an engagement, risk, compassion, authenticity, truth-speaking, sex, and heartbreak from a male who defies stereotyping is simply phenomenal. His words and actions have always aligned (regardless of whether some like it while others do not) thus separating him from those who are bystanders to their own life story.  He is not, nor will he ever be a "hollow man".  That's why journalists and news & entertainment reporters want to speak with him.  He isn't just another reality tv "star" talking about the usual "stuff".  He is a man of substance and outside the "bubble" substance matters.

The season began with a simple dedication to Eric.  CH said that would be what we would witness.  What did we learn about Eric in the short time he graced our tv screens?  Eric was passionate about life and symbolized the ultimate risk-taker.
Eric believed that love, his family, and his future family were the greatest of gifts in life and something he would compromise almost everything for.  He stated that love could be found anywhere but in order for that love to be true the confines of "The Bachelorette" show would have to bend, the lead would have to truly be herself "with him" for something authentic to grow.  He questioned her, listened to her, placed expectations on her, stated his bottom line conditions with conviction, and listened carefully before quietly responding to her concerns. He challenged her to move outside her comfort zone.  He was a man, fully formed, looking for a woman to love in an unorthodox environment.  

I think the legacy of Eric lived on throughout the season.

thanks for summing up greatly about the beauty of this SaltyVHenley guy   . Thanks for reminding us the beauty of high self-awareness and living with substance, dignity and purpose. He truly is special. An ordinary guy who left us an extraordinary impression on deeper meaning of love, life, relationship and intimacy, out of this silly romance TV show. (and keep people talking! regardless whether you love him, hate him or somewhere in the middle   )

Hopefully someone knows him could convey him this awesome post by NR. If i was him or his fam i would be grateful and appreciative of this kind insight from a devoted fan.    . And oh, IMO its a must-read for his future lovelady too...

One silly fact, nothing to do with our boy (isn't it funny how I got to call him, when he is actually a few years older than me) ... well, everything to do with him ... the Twitter world ...
I joined it ... got so curious how it works, because Nick got a major flack for his SM ... so, I thought let's try, I don't have any friends who use it, so I'll just follow the "rich&famous" and have no followers myself ... boy was I wrong ... 20 people started to follow me in 1 day ... and I haven't even tweeted yet! Like ... I don't post, I don't show any pics, I haven't disclosed any personal information ... they don't know me, probably have no idea where I live, there's a big chance we have nothing in common ... what's wrong with these people? And talking about creepy ... there are some disturbing ones among them (but if I start to block, I'll might just block them all).

But still... social media is great ... I can't explain you how thrilling it has been since I've entered this one ... getting to know you, in the small dose that this "confinement" permits, learning about cultures, places, states, countries, practicing writing skills, challenging yourself with the language, patience and tolerance.... lots of tolerance.

And even tho' this is a virtual life ... an extended one outside of our reality ... where someone would think, everything is perfect, because we have a chance to build it from the ground upon our own liking ... still I make mistakes, sometimes jump to conclusion too fast, misunderstanding some words or someone's message, getting angry over some comment of a stranger, irritated by critics that aren't even directed at me and sad for lack of acceptance of those who I would assume to be similar to me.

And then one post ... like Notarose's ... reminds me ... of how precious this world is ... as real as it could be ... where you can't escape reality ... even if you put the poker-face on and pretend to not care [but if you really don't, I wonder what gives you a motivation to live].
We care. We just choose who to care for and what about.

I love Nick's thoughts on Sean's blog ... it really has little to do with Andi or the season ... but everything to do with the reality, perception, misconceptions, respect, dignity, pride and feelings ... and a man in touch with his. No shame, no regret, no apologies.
It's greatly admirable to stay true to yourself, stand your ground, follow your faith, act on your beliefs, be loyal to your friends, kind to your family, respectful to everyone who deserves it, gentle to those who don't and aware of your contribution ...

BTW i was the one requesting a permission to follow you ... the one with the dragon in the cover pic (it's the symbol of my city) and a fleur-de-lis in my profile (staying true to the heritage)... no need to accept, I'm not even sure how active I'll be ... but the curiosity got the best of me ... now the next step is Instagram ... but that happens to be more challenging, because there the whole point is to actually post regularly ... anything ... and I'm one who gets easily bored and loose interest in new toy, so we'll see..

I'm the same way Happy bolded above! I've actually been on SM for quite awhile but I lose interest for a time then I regain interest again. And I also feel the same about liking Bach and Bachette Lead/constestants. I get so interested for a time then I lose interest and move on to new ones.   Nick might be the exception as I see all of his flaws and good traits at the same time and I accept who he is. He's proven to be a stand up guy and he reminds me of hubby so much so I will probably continue to follow him.
