Speaking of full freak out mode, that was basically what we got yesterday when the story broke about the next “Bachelor” choice coming down to Arie and Chris. The story was actually broke by Radar on Tuesday, but for whatever reason, people only started emailing me about it yesterday. The fact of the matter is, it’s true. I’ve said all along it’s going to be Chris. And maybe it still will be him. But Arie is definitely in the mix now and someone they are seriously considering. Didn’t see it coming since he’s yesterday’s news, but I’m very well aware he’s got a following, so I could see why they’d choose him if they did. My opinion? Professionally, it’d be better if they chose Arie. Personally, I’d rather see them pick Chris. Chris is the safe pick. Chris is the person on everyone’s mind right now because his run just ended and he’s the only name that’s really been mentioned for the last 3 months. The Arie choice has more “sizzle” and shock value to it, because it came out of nowhere. Well, not anymore since it’s out there he’s a possibility, but you know what I mean.

Whatever the case, one of these guys getting screwed. Either Arie is getting screwed because they’ve already filmed him in Arizona and hired him a personal trainer, yet would still choose Chris. Or Chris is getting screwed because he was flown to LA this week to meet with executives (after already meeting with them during the weekend of the MTA tapings), yet they filmed Arie in Arizona and hired him a personal trainer. So yeah, one of them is getting strung along right now by the show. I can make a case for either guy getting picked for the role. Arie would be for shock value since they know he’s got a rabid fan base, but the fact he’s publicly dated two other women from the franchise (Courtney and Selma), has numerous ex-girlfriends and hookups just chomping at the bit to run to tabloids to sell him out, and the fact that nobody would buy for a second he’s interested in finding a wife, is what would make the choice of him very curious. With that said, I could see them doing it because it would get people talking. And Chris, although looking great on paper, doesn’t really have the “buzz” that would resonate over choosing Arie. So in the end, I guess it all depends on what they’re looking for because these two guys couldn’t be more polar opposite if they tried. Do you go with the successful, Middle America, corn field boy who genuinely probably is looking for a wife since he lives in a town with less than 1,000 people, or do you go with the playboy, who lives in two bedroom condo with a roommate in Arizona who’s been known to show up at any party where girls barely out of college attend? I don’t know when the decision is coming. But when I hear who they’ve officially chosen, I’ll let you know.

JBF, I mentioned on the Nick fan forum, that maybe MF had spies on this forum and used your past editing analysis of Des' season against you to try to foil the spoiler.

I don't think any of us here are that important.

Funny thing you mentioned Desiree's season, there was a lot in common with that season and this, just NOT with the two Chris Esses.

We have baseball on somebody's hometown, a 5th episode date involving tourist "stuff", a dance to music in episode #5 (Ben Fields this time), two picnics by the shore (Josh in Madeira, Nick on the beach eating), both Nick and Josh getting fireworks (like Brooks, not Chris Siegfried though)... as well as Nick saying he watched every episode of Des' season.

I'm sorry but I really feel like expressing my opinion about the possibility of Arie even being considered for TB!

You want people to really take TB seriously and think Arie would be a good choice for TB??!!  IMO, not many would or could take Arie as a serious candidate who is looking for a wife.  To me, it would be like watching Arie's own personal Bachelor in Paradise!
 
Sorry, but if Arie is TB, I won't be watching.  I would like Chris as TB and I don't think it would be boring or lacking in anything.  To me Chris seems like a solid, well-grounded man who would take TB very seriously.  Just because he seems to have good morals, is doing well business wise and doesn't seem to like drama does not mean it wouldn't be fun to watch.  I personally would love to watch him looking for a wife and staying concentrated on that instead of getting caught up in silly drama.  I could even understand Marquel or even Nick or Josh or any one of many past contestants as TB  - but Arie - seriously??!!

I don't think I could even watch. I would be feeling sorry for any girls I liked whom I thought were really falling for him and thinking he was serious about settling down and worrying about them getting their heart broken.

I have no desire to watch Arie either. Chris to me is really the ideal guy for the lead. He's intelligent, articulate, good looking, awesome family, very successful, and ready to settle down, to me it's a no brainer. Does Arie even have a job?

Andrew only had me in his corner temporarily. Yet the moment he accidentally called Marquel "Ron" as if he was confusing the two guys in his mind, I knew he was thinking stuff he shouldn't be thinking. The little twirp.

Sorry. Late to the game but I must point out, Ron was talking and being referred to at the time and I have myself mixed up names in exactly the same way....and it had nothing to do with race, just the last person speaking. I'm willing to give Andrew the benefit of the doubt...and I don't even like the guy....but other people there were not impressed with how JJ acted and he himself had originally said he was drunk and didn't exactly remember what was said. Not exactly a stellar witness. I've said it before...he is easily influenced and socially awkward. He was doing whatever the producers told him...no doubt while building him up with what a hero he will be, how impressed Andi and the audience will be, not to mention his friend Marquel will be grateful. Ugh.

You can relax, Sprite. I was just responding to other posts that were harsher on Andrew. I found the dude highly enjoyable on screen... and thought that hostess number bit was a silly thing for the guys to fuss over.

Certainly NOT making the same big hoopty-doo folks on the motherboard were making over that mixup. For all we know, the editors could have even sliced and diced him saying "Ron" simply to make him look questionable too.

I actually really like Arie and always have. That being said, I really don't want Arie as the Bachelor. Yes, he is good looking and funny and if there was no Chris this season, I could probably have enjoyed an Arie season...suspending my belief in his sincerity to actually want to settle down. But, we do have Chris...sincere, gentlemanly, successful, funny, and let's face it...hot. I think I would enjoy a season with a sincere farmer more than a Jessie Palmer like season with another athlete. Plus, I thought the Arie was too busy with his renewed success in racing or is that just a sham?

I just hope they are not messing with the farmer. Clearly, poor Chris needs more help in finding himself someone that Arie does. Arie travels all over the place with groupies flinging themselves at him while poor Chris is stuck in Iowa, in a town of 700+ ... most of whom, according to him, are in their 70's. Man needs a hand!!!
