I guess I need to go back and watch the dates yet again (what a hardship!  ), because I am pretty certain that Andi has said more about her connection with Josh than just physical chemistry, especially the last two dates.  The "edit" is catching up to what the reality has probably been for most of their journey in my opinion.  

She definitely has said there is more than physical chemistry for Josh. She said some key things for me last episode about Josh (which I really appreciated) that before I had only heard her say about Nick. I.e. in the opening she said that Josh "sees her" and that she can be her "complete self" with him (i.e. the divaness and the brattiness). Also Andi and Josh spoke about their parenting techniques last episode, which was another key for me.

I think for me, which might be what Sharleen is getting at, is how much Andi (during and a lot post show) reiterates her intellectual/mental connection with Nick. Its not to say that Josh is dumb or anything like that, I just think Nick is very "intellectually stimulating" for Andi, and those are her words not mine (from Ryan Seacrest interview).

For me I think her decision was probably a combination of:

1. Location - Sorry I do think this would play into her thought process. I mean lets just say you have two guys you are completely crazy about, and one lives in the same city as you and the other lives hours away, you are probably going to pick the guy in the same city. I do not by any means think this was the only or main deciding factor. But I do think it validates the other deciding factors, making her decision easier.

2. Lifestyles - I think CH hit the nail on the head on this one in his blog. Josh has a lifestyle that Andi is more accustomed to. They are both from the south with what seems to be similar family dynamics. Further they are both from similar backgrounds (half Jewish and half Catholic), making them very compatible on paper.

3. Young and Vibrant vs. Mature and Passionate - I think this was the deciding factor. At the end of the day these guys are making her feel differently. Josh is the more goofy outwardly charismatic guy who is not afraid to make a fool of himself. He makes her feel young, giddy and vibrant bringing out the younger side in her. Nick makes her feel intellectually stimulated, romantic, he is very passionate and as she says makes her "feel like a woman". Nick I believe is also self-depricating but in a more sarcastic, dry manner, which makes him appear more "serious".

To me it came down to how they make her feel. Its not that I think Nick is more mature than Josh, not at all. I just think the Nick/Andi combo is a more serious/mature appearing relationship as opposed to Josh who is more outwardly goofy and fun-loving, its more a result of their personalities than age or maturity level.

Andi will and should pick Josh imo.  Josh does it for her not Nick.  It is written all over her face and I bet at the ATFR we will hear from andi and Josh and how much you want to bet, sharleen changes her tune?!

I find it ironic that Sharleen says that she wishes Andi would emphasize her “mental connection” with Josh the way she does with Nick when she (Sharleen) has gone above and beyond explaining the heavy editing that is done to give us the "storylines" the producers want to give us; the spliced ITM's, the post production ITM's, voice overs, etc. and the production prodding to get the comments on camera they want to get.  Despite all the manipulative editing that has gone on to cast Nick as a "villain" (which obviously he is not), and how many times she's used this to defend Nick, it doesn't enter her thinking that possibly, maybe, Andi does have a very strong "mental connection" with Josh as well but the show wants to show Josh as the dumb jock which clearly he is not instead of someone as intelligent and as mentally connected with Andi as Nick "appears" to be?

Andi on Kelly or somewhere talked about how it's important for her to have a mental connection and to be with someone who totally understands and gets her, etc. So if she chose Josh, I think it's safe to say they get each other, he can speak full sentences and comprehend everything she says I just think that if they showed that aspect of their relationship in addition to the stuff you cannot edit out, all their physical-ness, it would be harder to make it a horserace. JMO.

thought you might be right -- I remember using this very same argument to defend roberto being Ali's match....the reason they weren't being "mental" was probably cos it wasn't much all there...as is evidence by (possibly totally false) rumors about raging fights between Aliberto...just wanted to play devil's advocate cos the truth is we just don't know...

They tried to make it a horse race as evidenced by all the manufactured drama between Andi and Josh.  At least I hope it's all manufactured because if Andi is seriously worried because Josh is too happy than the girl needs to find herself some real problems.  Did she forget just how serious he was when he confronted her about the lie detector?  When she came out with the cut the cord/will he put me first comments I had to roll my eyes. The guy decided to leave his brother during one of the most pivotal times of his life to go and meet Andi.  He was putting her first before filming ever started. Even the, if Josh doesn't tell me he's falling in love I'm not going to Tampa was a load of bull.  He had been saying everything but the L word since week 3 and she was going to take Brian or Dylan instead?  Like I said, I'm hoping this is what the producer's came up with because it's not very flattering toward Andi.

The most telling thing that Andi has said about Josh is that she is drawn to him, that she always wants to be near him.  That's game over IMO.  Nick could be the smartest, sweetest human on the planet and it wouldn't matter if she's not drawn to him.

^^ US Weekly article whether true or not, says it was a horse race between the F2 until hometowns when Andi made her decision. Also the F2 never got a chance to propose.

Interesting andi admitted to knowing at the home towns. I guess she lets her final 2 guy go before the final rose ceremony so she can focus on her number 1 guy. I always thought it was weird to reject someone then turn right around and accept a proposal.

When Josh gave her the roses he basically came out and told her he would propose. If she had any doubts after that date on if he was serious I would be very surprised.

I agree, I think the reason she didn't decide sooner, if true, is because she didn't know what Josh was thinking and she was being careful to have a back up plan/relationship in case he was planning to bail. Not to say that her relationship with Nick wasn't real, but I think Josh was always top dog (no pun intended) and it was just a matter of her being sure that Josh wouldn't leave her at the frc. 

She's been called strategic and not genuine for not falling before the guys but I think it's smart. Instead of crying and throwing a humiliating fit like Ash, DeAnna, Des, Ali, and Jill because their at the time f1 had just bailed, she made sure he was all in before she made her decision. I don't blame her, she was the one who had the most to lose here, not the men because she's the lead, she has the pressure and she's the one that's in the hot seat if she chooses poorly or even falls in love with the wrong guy.

I think in some article I read she admitted that she used her strategic skills to help her make the decision but in the end as she demonstrated by what she said about her reason for sending Chris home she listened to her heart (which is good news for her because in order to listen to it she had to get past her own walls/defenses which in turn suggests to me that she opened herself up to a deeper relationship with herself). So it appears that she listened to Hy's mandate to her - to find the right one for her.
