The whole "head/heart" thing - I can see what others are saying about Josh. And I can see why if he is F1, that he was picked. We won't know if she went with her heart or her head- only time will tell. But I always wondered if Nick could have been her heart? It seems she held a special place for Nick and she talks about a lot about their mental connection. I know for me, my mental and emotional connection with people ARE my heart.
So who knows- Josh could have been her heart the whole time and she had a show to play, but boy do I feel terrible for Nick at F2 if he really is F2.

On the news here--NYC and tristate area personal story of a young man (a couple towns over from me)called up from the minors to play for the Braves.
source:http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/07/07/n-j-native-tommy-la-stella-comes-home-to-take-on-the-mets-as-an-atlanta-brave/
La Stella grew up in Closter, in Bergen County. After attending St. John’s and Coastal Carolina universities, he bounced around the minor leagues for a few years before getting a surprise call-up to the majors March 28.
And he has made quite an impression. A defensive play recently won landed La Stella in ESPN’s top 10 plays of the week.
Watching Tommy La Stella play little league, people knew he was special and had talent. But getting into the pros, he was not a first-round draft or even a second.
In fact, he was 266th overall.
Sorry to hijack thread. Dreams can come true with a lot of work.
No good deed goes unpunished.

Also many of the top draft picks fizzle out and some of the lower ones do great. Heck Tony Romo and Kurt Warner were never drafted they were signed on later. The fact he was drafted is great...no one knows what will happen next

I think Nick took her totally by surprise. From the first chat to the FIR, you could just tell she liked him. I think she even said he wasn't her type, but there was something about him that she was drawn to... I don't recall exact wording, but she has said several times that she has a physical/mental/emotional/intellectual connection with Nick. She has said she feels most comfortable with Nick..that Nick knows her best...that she can be herself without fear, etc. Her words to describe their relationship: Passion, Powerful. Her affection for him seems real to me. Now since it seems in her eyes Josh is the traditionally handsome jock, her type, etc. and she wants to believe that she can have it, make it work, etc., she may very well say goodbye to Nick. I hope not, I like Andi when she's with Nick.
Rewatched HTD (when Nick was talking to his Mom): His mom was expressing concern about him being prepared if she sends him home and I think he acknowledged that could happen, then said though "I think I'm her favorite." I wonder if he believed that she couldn't have what they had with anyone else OR was it TPTB telling him 'Andi likes you best'....

I don't think the heart and head thing has anything to do with Nick at all. I think it has to do with Josh.
There has been a common theme all season long with Josh. Is he trustworthy, is he too good to be true? There is a reason they are pushing that. I personally think either something happens before the season ends, or after with Josh as far as him being trustworthy.
As far as the snap chat, how in the hell is RS getting all this extra evidence for back up? In the past he just had spoilers and little else. The snap chat, plane video and all this extra evidence, which he has never had in the past is really suspicious.

We are on the same page then. I see Andi and Nick's relationship as being the most mature. Maybe that 's because Nick has done a good job of articulating his feelings and thoughts thus far. Maybe It's just the editing.
I don't get the "athlete lifestyle". I don't get that your parents and siblings and their SOs would be expected to fly to a different city each weekend to watch your brother essentially do his job. Nobody comes to my place of employment to watch me work. Why would that be expected from his family every single weekend? When you work fulltime or even parttime, weekends are when you get all of your real life stuff done and socialize with friends, family, etc. Aren't these football games broadcast on tv? What is wrong with watching the game on tv? Granted, I do not come from a sports obsessed family. I married a man who is not sports obsessed. I guess I cannot wrap my head around the fact that grown adult siblings would be asked to pay for traveling and take all that time to go watch another grown sibling do his job. If the parents want to do that, fine. But let everyone have their own space to make their own lives.
It seems like this family and Josh belong to the "all or nothing" club. For example, why wouldn't a grown man step foot near a baseball field if baseball was so important to him? Get over yourself, Josh. You spent five years after high school chasing the dream of making it to the big leagues and it did not pan out. He says he quit baseball because of the" lifestyle" and wanting to settle down. At 22 he said this? I call BS. He left because by that time he had spent five years and not achieved the big leagues. He probably saw the writing on the wall, and he left so he could go to college at 22 and get a degree to have a real work a day job. That was probably a smart thing to do. But to shun any contact with the sport for seven years? Seems strange to me. It's like he cannot enjoy the activity of baseball just for the activity that it is. Was it only about the challenge and the dream of being a superstar? Now that he isn't on the pedistal he cannot appreciate it? Or is it that jobody his age in a local league is anywhere near as good as he is, so there is no competition, no challenge, and therefore it is too boring?
IDK, to me, "all or nothing" thinking is unhealthy. Hopefully Josh and Family and Andi can learn to compromise and not expect perfection rrom one another. But from this edited show, I think they might have an uphill battle.
I also don't blame Nick if he is a bit bitter. Hopefully he will move passed it and be happy and find himself the right girl.
He's done that twice. Why can't Josh just say he saw that he wasn't going to make the big leagues so he went back to school? Andi's a smart girl. Surely she is not buying that bs.
Because Nick gets the helicopter/beach date, and before that the tux-prince date, it does seem like he was the F1 up to that point. Nutty, either it's an elaborate foiler campaign or Josh is the F1. That's the only way to explain snapchat for me.
So glad someone said this! We've had 2 other baseball player F1's. Neither found the thought of their great passion and talent so upsetting they gave up ever doing it once they moved on to other careers. Josh clearly can't say he gave up being a minor league player because he didn't enjoy it and could see he wasn't going to make it to the majors. I find the story of giving it up due to wanting a simple family lifestyle so tedious and feel a bit sad for him. I do think he really has convinced himself of that story he's telling, since we seem to hear it a lot, and isn't trying to BS Andi, but it comes off sounding really disingenuous. I guess the mentality of serious competitive athletes and the families that produce them is just a bit of a puzzle to me personally. It's too bad he can't look back on that as a great achievement in his life and a fond memory, not an upsetting one.
I have to defend Josh. In an article I read before the season, not sure if it is on here or not, from his UGA days, he admits he didn't have the success or passion he once had and he only stuck with baseball as long as he did because of the investment that the Brewers have made for him. I am not sure if this whole simple, family life is something the producers wanted to push. To me it fits in with Josh as the bachelor more than F1. Then again, this whole former baseball player thing is total TPTB crap, Josh in the articles I read wasn't nearly that hung up on it. Plus Andi's intro which some of you means she knows him, sounded extremely scripted by TPTB to me.

Nick has a lot of sisters. So ... even if he only actually watched Des' season, he has probably spent a lot of time listening to gossip about happenings on the show.
I don't find it suspicious that he would have an awareness of past seasons even if he did not watch them. My husband could probably tell you some things about the show and he hasn't ever watched a single episode.
(Um, I think I replied to a train of discussion that was like 15 pages ago .... oops)

Just give me something that looks like a real love story to help me escape into my own version of fantasy for a while. And maybe against the odds one of those stories will actually survive real life. Nothing wrong with a little hope, right?

My son knows about the show only because of me. Anytime anything happens that's suspicious or strange, he asks the sleuther to figure it out. He called me during Monday's epi, asked me what I was doing, I said it's Monday night, why are you calling me? I only answered because I saw his cell number, thinking there was a problem, otherwise he wouldn't call. He forgot, and asked if I new who won Bachelor 19th season yet, knowing they haven't even started filming.
I think with the media JK etc, guys know about the show, especially if their Mom or siblings watch and talk about it. The clip with Brian Williams was hillarious, on Seth Myers. That alone gave the show a lot of exposure.
So I don't find it suspicious either. Nick's recap of Jason/Molly is typical of how a guy would recap a situation on a mostly female show.
Sean Lowe tweeted that all past contestants watch previous epi's even though they say they don't.

Also his handler could have told him that after he was dumped.

whaaat ... I've found out only now
Josh was drafted in the second round by the Milwaukee Brewers (back in the day).
No wonder Nick & Josh were very close from the beginning of the filming ... then ...well, we all know why the Trojan war happened.

Haha! Too funny! I think the Trojan War started with the video (he should be mad at Andi, not Josh really imo) and then trying to poke at the Jodi bear in his sm afterwards didn't help.
