Yes I do disagree. At the end of the day - they're Nick's words and his voice. People will say everything is sliced and diced. While I agree to some extent, in this instance it seems like all of his words flowed continuously. In my opinion, it's quite easy to tell when editing has chopped things up and in that preview.. It didn't seem like it was. The only thing I've seen Sharleen say about slicing and dicing words is that they would take certain things she said, but would place them during something else. I haven't seen her say that they take certain words, cut other things out, and then add other words.

But like I said, the real reason for my posts were more so pertaining to the issue of saying every negative thing that comes out of Nick's mouth is due to editing. If that's the case, then all of the other guys should get this free pass too. Like others have voiced their opinions about Nick's image being because of editing, I was just voicing mine

I agree Nick is not innocent in this whole thing, I mean look at the video of him going to the front desk, what a joke. He knew that was a complete fabrication, he isn't dumb and he willingly played along.

I guess my thing is, despite everything we have seen thus far, there is nothing to me that shows he was malicious, cruel, vindictive or not genuine. Do I think he deserves the guys being pissed off at him, yes. But I don't think he also deserves to be called what he is being called on twitter, SM and everywhere else.

Thank you! I certainly don't think Nick is an awful guy either, up until recently I really liked him on the show. Now, I find him a bit too arrogant, but that doesn't mean I strongly dislike him, especially not in the real world. I agree that without a doubt editing is involved. They clearly pounced on Nick because apparently he was a bit unassuming and went along with everything. However, the fact that he so easily goes along with things that do somewhat paint him in a not so great light, kind of show that he just didn't care. In the end, I strongly stand by the fact that these are Nick's words and actions. No one held a gun to his head and forced him to do it. He went along with it and at least during the time living together for almost two months, it irked some of the guys too. We can blame editing for some of the things Nick does and says, but not all of it. Otherwise all of the other guys should get a free pass, in my opinion.

They're slicing and dicing his words. So, we've also seen a few of the other guys be a bit negative too. Can we blame that on editing as well? Or is that for Nick only? It just seems like when it comes to some of the other guys, people are focused on stating that's the type of guy they are, but whereas with Nick - it's solely his edit. Again, it's just my opinion.

Per the bolded: as far as I'm concerned this is for all past, present and future cast when it comes to VO's. Editing works for all.

Does everyone remember what cholep said about Nick early on.  That he was the most genuine on the show?  I think we all have to remember that with the edit he is getting.

Apparently, there is a rumor going around, that Andi and Josh have met before(multiple times - right before the show began shooting in March)... and that TPTB not only knew about this, but they actually set them up in a nice hotel room somewhere in South Cali. He was a plant.

Also, Andi was apparently a great actress; she played her role perfectly - lot of crying, lot of angst, lot of love, etc.... Plenty of guys thought that she was phony and at least one of them called her out on it in his exit interview...



And now not a rumor, but something that I've heard from multiple sources...

Apparently, Nick had been BY FAR the most unassuming, tentative guy of the final 8 or so- He was super careful and was a bit skeptical about this whole process.(his family too). Andi has gone out of her way to reassure him(and his family) - and it seems that she took him to the F2(according to RS) just to dump him... This is quite cruel, IMO. Even crueler if the rumor above is not just a rumor. :frown: no no


I pray and hope that this is just a nasty rumor, because I'd actually like to root for Josh and Andi to make it.
However, RS swearing that they had NEVER met before the show and that they don't share ANY friends, makes it a bit suspect to me.... He was obviously told that by someone close to Josh or Andi(there is no other way of knowing that), who for some reason felt the need to point that out....

Hi Cecilia, so I was thinking about the spoiler information you shared as I was driving this evening and something dawned on me. If Nick was, as has been said, the sweetest, most eager and guileless suitor, is it possible that TPTB were concerned that an ending where he's unceremoniously duped and dumped would not play well... and if so, would it explain the negative editing at all????

ITA, The same could be said with the opposite. The good edits don't necessarily mean the contestant is sweet and likeable all the time. The VO help portray what production wants us to see, whether good or bad. So we've learned to take ITMs with VOs as misleading most of the time, whether done to create a villain or garner sympathy. For some reason they've made Nick the villain and Chris the hero (usually f2 and TB edits)

Just  in the wee hours before she had her date with Josh. April 12th
Have not totally confirmed if the group date was the 10th or the 13th but from the official write-up, it appears that the group date was on the 13th.

But back to my point that I made earlier in the day or late last night (whatever it was) ,
Andi and Nick did spend a LOT of time together in Brussels.
Sneaking into her room - total set up scenario with the hotel clerk - AS IF??!!
The clerk doesn't know who Andi Dorfman is and that she is NOT married???!!
With TV cameras rolling around all over the place???
C'mon.

If that airplane video is a foiler, then Nick has really been screwed over by the producers.  First he consents to help them out, in the process making himself look bad, then to thank him for his cooperation, they give him an awful edit, purposely twisting all his words.  Doesn't make sense to me.
