*NO SPOILERS* The Bachelorette 10 - Episode Discussion

Pretty much last season, I stuck on this side... and I picked Clare. LOL! Again, it is hit and miss for all of us and I wear my own #TeamIdiot banner with pride. Every lead is different in what he or she wants... and we kinda "assume" stuff at times. Over time, though, you catch on to their editing "games". I seem to do better with the 'ettes. Screwed up with Ali's, but got the next three right. I do think what the lead says at the start of the show really IS what he or she wants. Then they throw us curve balls to distract us as the season progresses. Andi used the H-word (husband) a lot in her premiere show.

Wouldn't it be fun if they had to live on the farm for a few weeks and work around the farm instead of LA and fancy dates?

LOL, I think that's a great idea! If Chris is busy running the financial part of the farm, plus doing his own career, I don't know how much actual farm work he does anymore, but I think it would be great to see who would do well with out worry about a nail breaking!

I still think this could end with any of the guys being f1... but if Chris is the next lead, I surely hope they cast some decent women for him, and not a bunch of model/actress wannabe's. I think they did okay with Andi's guys, all of her f6 were great. Plus if I had to guess, I think they probably have more women applying then men.

So many good thoughts!  I always miss the good discussion since I go to bed to early.    I am staying unspoiled also.  Proud member of #teamidiot if that is what happens but I don't think it will.  The one thing Andi has said over and over and she repeated it in her blog this week is about the "great love".  Your heart has to be totally in for a great love.  I don't think her heart is totally in with Nick. I do think she "sees" a future with him but I don't believe she "feels" a future with him.  I don't see her settling for safe.  I am really anxious to see the interaction of the guys with her family.  One thing about Nick being reserved or shy around others might work against him.  Andi's dad will want someone to be open with him.  Hopefully Nick can do that.  I want to see if he can look Andi's dad in the eye and say he loves Andi.  I don't think he can.

GG I would love to hear from unspoiled posters who think Nick or Chris are F1.  Sometimes I think it is easy to go with the majority and when you read descriptions of why they think Josh is F1.  I'd really like to see it from another point of view.  Anyone out there?  I guess if we are all wrong, then TPTB have actually earned some respect from me this season.  The editing must be awesome!  I think they are showing the love story more because of Eric also.  I think since the season went pretty well, they want to show that Andi wouldn't have picked Eric even if he stayed and that he wouldn't have been there in the end and therefore would still have been home at the time he died.  Andi is not at fault for asking him to leave.  Most people wouldn't think she was at fault but there are those who might wonder if he had stayed, what would have happened.  Not explaining that well, sorry.

Hi, Peppermom. I think you are explaining it extremely well and are making a very intriguing point about the possible rationale for showing a love story in plain view. I also wonder if Fleiss is feeling particularly generous and soft these days because of his own wedding. Hope you don't mind if I take an excerpt of your post (what I placed in bold) over to a spoiler thread as posters are speculating now as to why the producers would allow the love story to be shown.

Oh you know they will... and women out for his money and not so much him. I can see the drama now! 

Pander- would be a nice change seeing them in a different environment maybe for the first few episodes. SHA made it work and it was fun to watch, more realistic dating wise.

I'm not Pepper so I can't speak for her, but I made the observation a few post before that so feel free to use mine if you wish or wait for Pepper to reply.  It's in my "Too good to be true" post 3 before that one (page 50).

That will be my only concern, those gold diggers, there are so many of them, and he is such a great who deserve better than that. IMO, he should just go over the list of all the past ette and start dating and see what happen.

Things always get very real in hometown week. Watching how emotional the guys became to see their loved ones again reminded me vividly of just how homesick I was in my final weeks of filming. We underestimate the comfort of our loved ones until it’s no longer an option to confide in them. Add to this the raw reactions of Andi and the final four to Eric Hill’s death—something I thought was difficult to watch but a respectful move on the show’s part—and episode 8 is easily the most emotional episode this season.

I really felt for Andi on many levels this week. I personally do believe it’s possible to love more than one person at once and, most of the time, one of the main things preventing that is circumstance. So imagine a circumstance dedicated to meeting and liking numerous attractive candidates and having your feelings for one another accelerated by a time and environmental warp. While in the beginning her position seems like an enviable one, I think it’s way harder than it looks—and whoa, did this week look difficult.

My frontrunners, in order:

Josh

1. Josh, 29: It’s almost eerie how seamlessly Andi fits into his family. They’re like-minded, athletic and generally seemed to be themselves around Andi—and she with them. I was a bit distracted by how much Andi looks like the fourth sibling of the Murray clan, but got over it quickly: Andi cares for Josh a lot, in the ways that matter. She was steadfastly supportive of him despite all the attention his brother was receiving. What I liked so much about this date was that it exposed Andi’s softer, less confrontational, more supportive and womanly side, which up until now I mostly only saw when she was with Nick. This was a HUGE deal for me and solidified Josh as my top frontrunner this week.



Nick V

2. Nick, 33: Nick’s hometown date was probably my favourite in terms of activity and ease. These two are so comfortable and effortless together it’s as though they’ve been dating for years. The evening portion was intense just due to the sheer size of his family. But Andi took it like a champ, wowing all of America with her very impressive name recall.

3. Chris, 32: Don’t get me wrong, I like Chris and Andi together and I think their hometown date went swimmingly. But the real concept of Andi up and moving to a farm in Iowa was seriously glossed over. Yes, it was mildly addressed when they discussed her career options and Andi spoke to Chris’ entertaining city-girl-turned-country-girl mother. But it seemed like the bare minimum considering what a huge social and professional sacrifice it would be for Andi. These two just don’t have the chemistry or cerebral connection (yes, I said it) necessary for that move to even be a consideration.

another amazing "great minds think alike" thingy amongst us, GG, right? Because we are on the same page why they're not hiding Jodi's love story! I called it as early as episode 2 or 3!  And like what you and and pepper said, if this season is a "tribute" to Eric, TPTB would refute Eric's (bless him!) claim that Andi was an "actress"! When Eric left the show, Andi got a lot of flak on SM! Momma Murray even defended Andi against a twitter basher. Chris H's blog on Eric was carefully written explaining why they handled the news of Eric that way. Quite a few disliked them having to show the raw emotions. Others felt it was unnecessary.

Eric's Tragedy (and the manner he left the show) was a Bachelor First. Therefore, for me, a straight up great Love Story (Jodi's) is a first, too!

Thanks, maggenzm! your timing is perfect! I was about to bring up the "importance" of the lead's friends in blogging and tweeting. Our limitation as Idiots I mean Unspoiled is scouring every internet crumb. We cannot do that lest we be spoiled. The very least I/we can do is "dissect" the blogs or tweets of the lead's friends. Sometimes, the other bachelornation's opinion may matter but I scrutinize the Lead's friends more closely. They generally do not post directly who their friend chose in the end but for me it is a clue. For those of my unspoiled friends interested to see a sample of tweets of Andi's friends on twitter, they may click bellow. They are hidden because I agree with GG, it is telling!
