Bachelorette 10 - Andi Dorfman - Episode 4 - Mon June 2/14 *Spoilers & Sleuthing* - Discussion

I think Eric displayed the typical first date insecurity that the show play up season after season:  Ashley, Des, William, and  (the guy with the gf in Ali's season) to name a few.  They wanted assurance from the lead as they watched these different dates happen right before their eyes.  No fun to be the first date!

Where did you see that, Bet? I read his blog and it didn't talk about that. I did think this part was interesting.

Eric was a smart guy and he was an instigator. He loved to stir the pot a little bit, and that’s what he did with Andi. When I saw that sly little smile slide across his face while arguing with Andi that night, I just laughed. Even in that moment, he was having fun. At the end of it all, they ended their disagreement with a hug goodbye. When does that ever happen on our show?

That is not the way that I viewed that scene with Eric and Andi.  Nothing that they have shown of Eric during his conversations with Andi would indicate in any way that he was an instigator.  What does that even mean, when referring to Eric?  And, then CH says that "even in that moment he (Eric) was having fun".  No, it was very apparent to me that Eric WAS NOT having fun.  Eric immediately knew that Andi was getting upset with him.  But, I do agree with those who have said that that was very disrespectful of CH to put that in his blog, especially because of Eric's untimely death.

Or am I wrong?  If someone is called an instigator who likes to stir the pot, is that supposed to be a compliment?

I had to look for it, because I too don't read the tweets on epi night of the former/contestants.

I completely agree with Ashley. She is all engaged and leaning into the ones she likes, which to me right now is Nick, Josh, Marcus, Chris on his date (since they haven't shown us anything with him since that - even though I am sure he had time at the epi 3 cocktail party at least) and maybe Brian a little.

I watched her with JJ and Dylan, she leans back and makes agreeing noises but doesn't really talk to them.

Compare this to her practically jumping Nick in their alone time in epi 4.

No, I don't believe you are wrong. I commented about this in the CH and Andi blog thread yesterday

Sometimes talking about things like this, helps process it. If it was handled tastefully and it seems so at this point, he may have even gotten some good out of sharing with Andi.
What keeps loved ones that have passed on "alive" is being able to talk about them. Most people aren't comfortable around that, so it is healing to have a listening ear.

I went through something very similar to Dylan and had to be my mom's rock as well.  He may have wanted a chance to get away and not think about it all the time and to be drowning in it all the time.

I wanted to hug him the whole time he was talking.

Glad you are posting again!  but, I am very sorry you had to go through that.      I could not imagine that kind of pain!  

Glad to be back! I was working on revisions for my first manuscript, getting it resubmitted, going to a conference in Austin (my real hometown!) and then may manuscript got accepted! Busy three weeks, but a huge step closer to PhD!

It has been 12 years for me, so I am okay now, but at the time it was so incredibly hard. I had a lot of guilt too, what could I have done to stop it. I really felt for Dylan and didn't like Andi. When he first brought up the death of his brother when discussing the ex-gf she could have asked, to me she really didn't care. If she liked Dylan she would have wanted to know then. TPTB sucks taking him on a date through the places he played with his brother he just lost. Yes, it was one of the worst dates every Millsy, because you took a grieving man through the area most likely to cause the most pain. UGH, I hate TPTB!

So to comment on the last three episodes, since I have been MIA. I think Andi new at the end of episode 3 who her top 4 or 5 were. She is not a good actress at all! She is into Nick, Josh, Marcus and I think Chris and Brian. The rest she is very leaned back and disengaged with. Sure she laughs some, but it is not going anywhere below the surface.

I really think after her date with Nick she realized that Nick was much more her style and that Eric wasn't. Eric was a great man and so interesting and gorgeous, but he was a world traveler, casual, grab life by the horns kind of guy. He would rather have slept in a hut to have a great experience than to sleep in a five star hotel. This is the opposite of Andi, she wants glamour, the high life and those five star hotels. Neither is wrong, just way too different to every succeed. The first date this wasn't obvious, as she hadn't really gotten to know the other guys yet. Eric is that guy you should love, there was literally nothing to not love about him, but he and Andi would never have been a match.

Unfortunately, he was also TPTB's wet dream. Even if Andi realized at epi 3 that she and Eric weren't going anywhere they wanted him around. I am sure they had dreams of Eric as the perfect bachelor. It would take something like their confrontation for TPTB to let Andi let him go. If he hadn't spoken up, I think Eric would have been top 5, maybe even top 4, since I think Andi already had a top 3 with the 4th not mattering to her. I don't think Eric not having seen the show realized this and wanted that great girl he first connected to. Unfortunately, to me that was the actress, not the girl we are seeing now. That was the girl we can all be on a first date, especially with a guy who we feel is so much cuter or better than us.

I do think much like a couple of bloggers that I have read that Andi is drinking a lot to get through the interactions she isn't digging and so that made her much more on edge. Plus she says in her blog after the party with the rosebuds, she went up to the guys suite to spend time with the other guys. I do think she was exhausted between that, the horrible date TPTB stuck her on with Dylan and then the adrenaline date with Marcus. By the date of the rose ceremony she probably was way too tired and also feeling like crap that she was going to have to let more guys go without being able to be honest as to why. I think if she could she would say, I am down to 3-5 of you that I can actually see myself with, the rest of y'all are just filler. But of course she can't.

All of that being said, I like Andi best with Nick so far. He has brought out a more sweet, caring side to her. I personally hope the spoiler is wrong and Nick is F1, but no basis, just what I want. I felt this way with Emily with Jef, I liked Emily with Jef, he brought out a cooler side to her too, that I didn't see with anyone else.

Selfish me, I really want Josh for the bachelor. I also think the Chris reminds me of Matthew McConaughey from Dazed and Confused.

If you are going to be on this show , it's imperative to lie on your application.
If you are afraid of heights, tell them you are claustrophobic. If you are afraid of swimming in deep water, tell them you are afraid of heights. I'm serious. If you played at the ocean with your deceased sibling, tell them you went skiing in Vermont together for 20 years. I've said this before and it really is good advice. Future contestants: protect yourselves. Dont give them ammunition with which to hurt you or scare you.

Completely agree! I just really hated TPTB this episode. New England is so beautiful and that is what they give us from the area? Yuck!

If I ever loose about 20 pounds, gain 6 to 7 inches in height, get thick hair and loose my self-consciousness in front of a camera I will put "I hate the Backstreet Boys" on my application for this show. That way I can be sure to get a private concert with them.

I actually thought Emily had a great F3, Jef was just the only one I could actually stand her around. Not an Emily fan at all, wasn't on Brad 2.0 and haven't been since. But at least around Jef I didn't want to smack her and tell her to shut up! I know many loved her with Arie, but I loved Arie and didn't want him stuck with a woman who was just there to torture him for any little thing he did wrong. As for Sean, I hope he thanks God everyday that Emily rejected him, because Cat is awesome, he won out of that one.

I think differences make us all great. Nick and Jef are similar in attitude and style to me, so I get why some may not like them.

I think Nick is the best fit for Andi. I don't think she really appreciates Josh, she just wants to jump him. I see her being genuine with Nick and playing games with Josh.

Emily ~ TPTB wanted her to be B'ette from the get-go and did everything they could to sabotage her and Brad during filming and airing. 1F reminded many of us as Eddie Haskell, not a sincere bone in his body.

I like Nick. Unless he's reading cue cards like Jef did, I see no comparisons between the two.

I even like Josh, although jocks aren't usually my cup of tea.

I like Marcus, albeit he's probably too young to settle down in the immediate future.

I have no feelings for Chris, one way or the other.

I don't like the Andi I see on my screen. Run, bach's run. She may be very sweet, but MF isn't being kind to her if she is.
