In Reality Steve's column he says that Courtney mentions in her book that she and Ben were approached to do Couples Therapy after their stint on The Bachelor. She says that both her and Ben were each offered $40,000. She said that she didn't even bring it up with Ben because he never would have gone for doing that show.

Everything that I have read about this show on the internet says that it is kinda sleazy and its really exploitation at its worst in terms of how the contestants are portrayed on the show. I've never seen the show myself, so I have no idea if this characterization of the show is correct or not. I guess I will wait and see once the show airs, but what I've read doesn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling as to how this show is going to turn out for them. If Juan Pablo was upset with how The Bachelor portrayed him, he may be in for something even worse with this show.

JPG has said openly in an interview, he would do another reality TV show if the terms were right. I can't comment on the show, I've never heard of it. Is this a show that has ever been sleuthed?

So what is exactly their major problems that they need to go on this show for three weeks and exposing their own personal life in national tv ? I underestood he just can't say no for the money and did not just think what is the show is all about . Sorry to say but if they are having problems with their relationship why not just go to a private couples counseling . I don't think you have to be on the show to let people in national tv that the process can work. I mean they are just new with their relationship and it seems being in. Long distance relationship make them happy and doesn't seem they are in a train wreck . Sorry for disagreeing with them going to this reality show to solve whatever problems they have . Again it's not my life . It's their life .

My initial thought was that they were wanting the opportunity to show the world (and no, I agree the don't have to show anyone anything) that although they met and picked each other very quickly, they are interested in having a successful relationship and are willing to work at it. This may be, in their minds, a way to stop some of the negativity that they get blasted with. The only thing I'm afraid of is they will encounter even more negativity. I like Juan Pablo and Nikki and hope they succeed.

To the bolded, below is what appears to be VH1's catch phrase:
"The couple, who met with Marriage Boot Camp stars Jim and Elizabeth Carroll in March just a week after The Bachelor finale aired, are said to be the mystery couple VH1 announced had a "highly volatile relationship with the press".

I don't know how anyone can change the negative tone however it surely has had an impact.  At some point any couple would want to enjoy their relationship without having it being called "fake", or JPG being seen as unworthy or Nikki as being brainwashed.  The press has quieted down but every time JPG or Nikki post something on socmed there are a few those who are not fans intent on commenting directly to them.  Also, the start up of The Bachelorette brought on a renewal of snarky mentions from bloggers and some mag rags.  It's not healthy to have that in your face every day. This couple doesn't molest children or murder.  The bombardment is out of proportion.

I agree that they may encounter even more negativity or the same degree of negativity they experienced during and directly after the show.  I suppose the difference will be that on this show they will have gotten counselling from a qualified professional which is of personal benefit.

I think it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.  If they were to get engaged tomorrow the press would likely be all over it with negative versions which isn't how anyone wants to celebrate their engagement.  Instead, they are exposing their relationship for public consumption but this may result in showing people who watch that it's just a typical relationship or not. Hard to say.

I understand what you said. But you know what? I don't think there is a "need " to do this reality show to put everyone in place who are doubting what they have. As you said maybe has something to do with the "negativity going on with everyone towards them ". To me Juan pablo doesn't owe the public about the real situation of his relationship to nikki .( look at des and chris , the mesnicks. They proved everyone wrong and they are happy and sigsock are getting married soon)  At the end they are the ones who are in this relationship others opinion don't matter . Now if some of you saying they did this show aside from money being involved to shut down all these negativities I don't think it is a very smart idea . If I were them set aside the money (I know it's big bucks ) I will not going to do it in this type of vulgar reality show for three weeks just to open up and talk my personal relationship on tv . I will just going to have a private counseling couples appointment. They can do other reality show if they want but not like this . Whatever they are going to share on this show we will definitely going to see some crying , and emotions will go up because the therapist will going to dig their personal life to solve what problems they have . But just don't know what problems these two are currently facing anyway. Will just have to find out! And sit here how thing will play. But I think there is probably no major damage will going to happen between them especially if they did for money which I found stupid and the creator of the show just want them to be here to take advantage Juan pablo being hot in media .

Thanks, I stand corrected, in that Melissa said she wanted to teach 1st grade. We may not agree on everything, but do agree that her honest intentions were as published at the DCC web site: an entertainment/media career on television.

I can comment having watched a couple of seasons of Couples Therapy.

The show features has-been, fame whore, D-Listers. It's just another downhill stop on the reality TV circuit, meaning no one doing the show is up and coming; and it's all about extending the 15 minutes of fame.

Anyway, we'll, gain clarification of Juan and Nikki's true relationship, because that's all they'll be talking about on the show and WILL be called out if withholding.

Two things concern me about this couple:

(1) Reality Steve hasn't softened up, at all, (worst yet, has details) and still insists Juan Pablo isn't sincere and only using love struck Nikki. He, also, says Juan Pablo is broke and 40 grand, each, for 3 weeks filming is why he's doing this show, and Nikki just does what Juan Pablo is doing. If true, could mean Nikki if flying herself around the country --- on her own dime --- just to make Juan Pablo look better. (I suppose on the positive side, she's paying herself back for all that travel.)

(2) Theirs is still a new relationship and instead of learning about Nikki making moves to relocate to Miami, they're doing this show? IDK, for this is more or less an indication that one of both of them are not as committed to moving forward as milking their notoriety as a couple. (Singly, IMO, they're not worth much, at all.)

I'm wondering how RS was able to obtain Nikki and JPG's financial statement to determine that JPG is broke. I also would like to know how RS knows that JPG isn't sincere about his relationship with Nikki. Would it be the same method he used for Jason and Molly where he trashed them every which way to increase the visits to his own blog? and later confirmed that, some of his information wasn't 100% true after making youtube's and teasing everyone for weeks that he had info on J/M?

JPG travels all over the U.S and beyond for his job. I'm pretty sure he earns a decent salary and every penny is expensed. I don't think he needs Nikki's savings to pay his way. Nikki has a great job and I'm sure she earns a good income. She doesn't have a lavish lifestyle, and there's no indication she blows her money.

If they weren't committed to each other, they can go their separate ways. No one is stopping them. I'm surprised like many that they have decided to do this, but we won't know until filming ends whether it was a good idea or an idea that went very bad.

RS mentioned some of JP's demands of a charity who invited them to appear, and it bordered on diva beahviour. I wanted to give them a chance for Nikki's sake, but I admit I'm a little skeptical of JP now.

Oh, funny Juan Pablo story that I was recently told which I can confirm to be 100% true. A charity event contacted him to make an appearance with Nikki at their function later this summer. In return for appearing at this event, Juan Pablo first asked who else would be there, then wanted 3 first class tickets to the event (it was in another city), accommodations at a 5 star hotel, and an appearance fee to show up. The event came back with offering 2 coach tickets, a 3 star hotel, and no appearance fee because, hello dumb ass, it’s a charity event. After not getting back to the event in a timely manner, the event decided to proceed without them so they won’t be going. Good. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1,000 times, this show completely changes people and they start believing they’re way more important than they are. But to ask that of a charity event when they reached out to you is f***ing absurd. But that’s the world he thinks he lives in now.

I was all meh on couples therapy, but this doesn't reflect well on him. And I wonder if this is the same charity event Des/Chris and SeanCat are attending for Goodwill.

Oh wow! If that is true he demands more with this appearance . Just wow! Not good at all!

The more negative something is written the more people like to believe it.....
