Episode 9 Recap: an feisty fantasy date

Clare is fussing on her yacht ride whether or not to agree to a fantasy suite overnight. After all, Juan made her feel a trifle guilty over Ocean Romp. What will Camilla think? Well… Juan tells us at the start of the episode that he is eager to talk to these ladies with no cameras around. Just talk… that is.
Apparently a handler thought of a bright idea to get Juan to stop groping her: have Clare discuss Camilla, his all time favorite subject. Getting them to talk about The Kid is just as affective in “cooling off” this couple as turning on the World Cup on the TV.
Nighttime portion, she agrees to the overnight with a few words about “trust”. Was there any REAL doubt she would? She also gives her promo “loving falling in love with you” line. Then again, she also has to remind us of the time he blindfolded her (kinky!)… and both eagerly hop into the hottub for plenty of make-out… and she chirps on screen that she wants to have babies with him…
I wonder how much actual talking they did once the cameras left.
Date #2
Pookie is up next, ravishing in her Little Red Riding Minus-The-Hood. Theirs is a musical date with drums at the market (like Drew’s dancing last season) and then… ugh!... more jungle and waterfall foreplay. Felt like a replay of New Zealand in that second part.
Juan sports some hilarious facial expressions when remembering Hy’s drilling at the hometown. His eyes are rolling almost as much when talking about octopus eating in Korea. Of course, Pookie feels giddy talking about her family. (Clare also did the hometown “review” on her date.)
Evening talk involves an earlier hometown talk we hardly heard about: Pookie wanting to “badly fall in love”. Juan is concerned about her “forcing” this. She promises not to “force it”. Yet he is forceful in his PI sessions saying she could be The One and that she is wife material. This is accompanied with the same aerial orchestration we got earlier with Clare’s yacht… as if the start of a Fantasy Date to beat all Fantasy Dates.
… well, not really. He is happy to tell us the next morning that they talked, talked, talked and laughed for hours. On the other hand… she isn’t feeling it with him. Saw a side of him that she really didn’t like… All About Me.
The biggest boo-boo: she claims he told her he had an overnight with Clare without her asking. She felt she shouldn’t have been reminded… and, yeah, I agree. Then again, she isn’t feeling “IT” with him anyway.
Date #3
Horesback riding with Sexy Nikki. He is laying on the Sexy Talk thick here. Lots of prickly cactus on this date. Ouch!
For the first time, we see them get wet in the surf.
In the evening, Nikki morphs into Ali Fedotowsky in her timid yellow. Her talk gets timid too… since daddy Tom told her Juan wasn’t 100% certain he would propose to her… or something. I forget. Despite her timidity, she still gives him an “ILY”. Once again, Juan considers her “wife material”... like Pookie.
Pookie is perturbed…
Sooo nice to see the ol’ video messages again. Juan looked quite teary-eyed viewing Clare’s. Best one, though, was Pookie’s… stating she wants to “share some thoughts” with him “personally.” (Cue shot of her arriving solo on a road in her all-white blouse and lacey shorties.) She now has him at his most vulnerable… sporting his timid yellow shirt.
The problem: He keeps saying OK all the time. He isn’t blubbering like Desie did when Brooks dumped her. First no-no was his casual mentioning of an overnight with Clare… not that he revealed anything hotsy tosty. Second no-no was some misuse of the word “default” regarding her and F4 Renee. Pookie is quite the criminal prosecutor taking him down.
I should point out that we got a TON of critters this episode, but the shot of a praying mantis nibbling on a baby lizard was the most fitting one since it was edited smack in the middle of the argument.
Juan: I’m not going to argue with a lawyer.
Final two: Clare and Nikki. Clare is worried…
Previews suggest he picks nobody.

I agree with the pick no one slant in the preview- I posted in another thread, JP walking alone on the beach with the crab going back into its hole as the last shot.

Yeah... but they are emphasizing it TOO much. You know how they fib to us. I do think he and F1 have some "problems" post show since SOME of Pookie's... excuse me, Andi's... talk relates to him getting in better touch with his "feelings" and the feelings of women.

The editors are so good at what they do. Besides already feeling it for most of the season I have totally bought that he walks away alone.

I don't think he's alone, but there is definite challenge to the resulting relationship.
Now... the key question: With Nikki's close relationship with Andi, is she still a potential F1? Would she allow him to propose to her? I personally don't see enough "heat" between those two, BUT... it is always argued that maybe all of Nikki/Juan's scenes are cut out of the show because they are twice as sizzling as Clare/Juan.
Also... if Jason can be brain****ed to choose Melissa temporarily over Molly, could Juan also be?
Nawwww... I am still back to Clare as F1 again. Almost took a detour, but not quite. Ha ha!
Once I can REALLY re-watch both this and the hometowns, I will do a more serious critter count. Yup... I can see Juan being a little crab here. He has more trouble "opening up" than the ladies.

It just so bad that JaunP is getting such a bad rap from these girls and the media. Could they be any more bitchy ? And what is with 1F talking as though he is an authority on the subject ? Just ugh

Even some of the franchise's golden children are none to kind to him. Their tweets and thoughts about him are more entertaining than the show. And honestly, I think much of it is deserved.

I agree. Comments about how he says or pronounces are the worst. Just because someone cant speak or understand English well does not make them stupid. I hope he is with a strong person who will be in his corner and help him through all this.

Totally agree. I think JuanP just shut Andi up with why didn't she say something before. After that it was a less intense Andy.

JBF, i really2 think you should get a patent for your theory on little vs large critters in HTDs. ..LOL..
IF Nikki is the F1, your great theory will be proven correct once again

You can skip the critter theory for now... LOL. Canada geese on your hometown is a lucky sign... since a few F1s have had those. Yet it will be more fun to analyze the critters in St. Lucia.
