Maybe the night ocean swim because he himself felt regret as to how it would look when aired. Other things ( with anyone) that may not have aired ... but he wouldn't know that. Not really sure because when the girls sign up they know the premise of the show & how it operates even if they pretend not to for dramatic exits.

Jp comes from a family that is very interested in history and architecture. Nikki's dates all attested to this. Her dates were not the normal tourist jaunts. Starting in Vietnam JuanPa came to realize that he can have a conversation with her(he got more comfortable with her.) They toured the Vietnamese landmark Marble Mountain and then Hell Cave which also had quite a few historical artifacts. Maybe he saw her being a better fit in his family. The subsequent dates were the marvel of the OGO, Hobbitton, World War I memorial and finally for the FD he wanted to prove that he could be a cowboy( Andrew Kimmel,one of the producers, called him the Venezuela Cowboy). I think what startled him was her friendship with Andi. He was surprise by Andi's attitude so he started to question himself and what he was seeing in Nikki. I am so looking forward to MTP and LCD to see if they can get over the hump.

See, I feel a little bit differently about the ocean swim. He had not had a 1-1 with Nikki by then. After the swim, next day up comes Nikki's first 1-1. He had a great time and saw the potential so much that he tried to shut Clare's advancements down. So in my mind, one date with Nikki set his attraction to Clare back. He was concerned she would continue to behave in such a way as in possessive so he tried to shut it down before that happened. That's my take anyway! Does that make sense? In other words, after he basically told Clare...no more of her being forward and posessive with him... I knew or should I saw felt his journey wasn't about her anymore in his eyes. I think the only person Nikki may have been concerned about was Sharlene. Remember when she questioned Andi about Sharlene's intentions toward JP. Nikki's wheels were turning!

In the preview for the WTA Sharleen emphasizes their connection partly being an understanding of what it's like to be transplanted to a different country. I think this reframes the mundo aspect to a degree. As to Andi, she really did an excellent job of tutoring JP in how to respond to a nonLatino woman ... More good than harm in some respects in that breakup scene. He was quite excited when she said he needed to repeat what was said then use his ok (watch that specific bit again as it's quite amusing). I do think the swim was an issue as I was watching #thebachelor hashtag during that episode and Nikki retweeted someone else's derrogative comment about it.

I agree with all your other points. He's been a man on a mission for some time now.

Believe it or not, I agree with the bolded. I'm not sure he got that about himself until Andi made it quite clear...at least it gave him something to think about and reflect on as I'm sure he's seen that scene one too many times! I think Niiki may be a little perturbed that Clare went out and got Juan Pablo to swim in the ocean as Clare one upped her without Nikki knowing it but I just don't see her being jealous of Clare.

I will say Nikki's no filter got her in trouble with JuanPa at least a little before all was said and done. Post show, I'm sure he was unhappy with her, Clare's crazy which includes her family, too. If she's going to sport Juan Pablo on her arm, he'll have no more of that...

That was an ugly comment, in the heat of the moment, but still awful and unnecessary.  Of course much worse has been said about Clare, JP, Nikki by bloggers and tweeters.. Sad.
I'm still can't predict the show outcome.

As you have discussed, i think he discussed about Oceangate with Nikki and perhaps about his overnight with Clare too ala Andi's. It still amazes me on how Nikki reacted to his blatantly honest speaking of there are 3 other nights more than once in her FD. yet, she seems calm-collected with a little smirk on her lips. Me think its quite weird, either she shares the same trait of being brutally honest..or..she is not really  in love with him. ..

I agree with the minority on the whole love topic. To think that all of these people...or even most of the f1 and their leads are "inlove" is just ridiculously naiive and silly (not calling you all that btw). No way. And this has nothing to do with me being biased because frankly I could give a crap about these people (in the real world). This is only to satisfy my reality tv craving. What happens beyond this show is all on what they choose to do. I dont care. I just watch because it gives me something to watch. Doesn't hurt. And most of the time I dont even see a love story unfold on the show. I see potential for love or extreme like or maybe the beginning stages of love but I DONT see full on love. And in this case, this season, I dont even see any of that. I see like. That's it. I see like for this particular case. As in, a convienient like because JP IS in this situation. If this were his "real" world outside of being on the show, im not so sure he'd even be in like with these girls...honestly. Although, that tends to be the case with many of the leads and just people who come on the show in general. Probably one of the reasons it never works out...of many ofcourse.
