Because it doesn't look like a rejection photo and no one for whom the photo is intended will realize that. But from sleuthing we know the only place Clare can be going from where she is photographed is on a boat home, before Nikki arrives. We can speculate why she is leaving with CH though......

^^ Plus the departure photo looks more like an arrival photo. Sand nicely raked with nice landscaping. Like what a FRC should look, not unmaintained grounds. All done to throw everyone off.

So, how exactly are the photos numbered? I cannot get on media net, it asks me for a sign-in.

I know My camera numbers them like IMG_850 for example. And those numbers are generated by the camera, I think. It could be determined by the media card. So, we could assume they used a different Media Card if the 1st one got full, or it could be a different camera. Who knows.

BTW, I searched the forum under Ashley, Ben, Emily, Sean, and Des' seasons, for the words timestamp, time stamp, etc. and did not find it. Now it might be the limitations of the search on this forum, or it could be that there were no discussion of time stamps in those seasons (but I doubt it).

I think it might have been prior to this forum when the "altered" timestamps were discussed.

I don't remember that the timestamp was altered on any forum. I do believe that we confirmed that SC etc. were altered.

I think the numbering may be based on arrival(2 series) and departure(3 series) so that they may be located easily.  It could be as simple as that.

It was after a full days of heavy sleuthing that photograph was determined (yay !) and confirmed to be a departure photo.

The casual viewer would not even see those pictures.. Die hard fans of the show would not suspect that single Screenshot to be a departure photograph.

It is just here that we "know" that is a departure.

That's what i also thought (its an arrival photo) upon seeing the pics. Only found out that it's a departure photo upon reading the posts here in the forum.

I know that the SC is later just before Nikki arrives…..no problem we all agree on that one.  I am okay that Nikki is F1, I really don't care….but as a person who likes to sleuth out things that don't make sense this SC just does not make sense….if you look on the media that just was posted  at wet paint. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]  that particular SC isn't shown but the rest are…..interesting to me that is all.   I just glad that we have that particular SC to show that Clare wasn't an emotional mess….no way to do a rejection and get your composure together and be back at the beach in 20 minutes.  I am glad to know that, because I really don't want to see Clare get hurt, like all other F2's I just don't like it, especially when I can see that she was all in.  (some F2's I don't see as all in)

I experimented with one of my photos. I could save a copy and give it a different name or number but the time stamp remained the same. It's possible the photographer edited the photos and saved them under a different number so he wouldn't get rid of the first one. I often save the original and edit a copy.

That makes sense. I just don't see some massive conspiracy to fool sleuthers here. I doubt the media care about time stamps. There is nothing in the actual photos that gives anything away.

You just reminded me of something that happened  in Jason's season. In a preview clip, someone had gone to the trouble of painting a fake band on Molly's finger. While she was looking in the mirror fixing her hair it was there. It was only a split second but it was as plain as the nose on one's face.

Time stamps can be doctored, and maybe just as easy or easier than putting a fake ring on a finger. A typical watcher would never have picked up that fake ring but the sleuthers did.  If they want to mess with the sleuthers for whatever reason, then it doesn't really matter what method they use.

ETA: I'm not saying they did, but I'm not closing the door to it either.
