Here's another view...it kind of does look like something other than his hand, IMO.

It may be the light hitting his thumb in that SC vs the other. The shadows & sunlight looks identical other than that. It doesn't appear that he moved.

bean, originally I thought he was looking at his thumb as well, but now I'm not so sure. It's possible he's looking at a picture of Camila as he ponders their future...and the decision he is about to make...propose or not propose. To me, he doesn't necessarily need to be looking at something given to him by Nikki or Clare. It's tough to say whether we should put any importance on this shot.

I magnified the picture as high as I could and his hands look closed fingers inward thumbs stuck up and whatever looks like a book is something in the foliage. Hard to know when we can't get a close up.

Could it be the DVD that Clare's late father made? Maybe she gives it to him on the LCD and he returns it at the FRC? Just throwing that out there. Similar to Fake returning Vienna's "Daddy's ring" at the FRC. That would be cold though and I'm pretty sure ALL of America would HATE him.

I went back and magnified it again and then took a pic of it on my phone and then enlarged it and it looks like sun reflection off of something because it was bright. Ok I am done with that I find it to inconclusive.

In the small picture you posted, isn't it the same gate in the background, but the other side? This would suggest they are walking away from the site of the FRC. Back to the boat I would guess.

I saw that too, and it would be logical to assume that CH is walking her out. The time stamp on the photo would attest to that also. But that explanation isn't nearly as much fun as assuming the time stamps have been tampered with and Nikki actually arrived first. Or JP changes his mind after he let Clare go and asked for her to come back, he tells her he loves her and gets her to hide in the bushes when Nikki arrives where he dumps her (which is why Nikki is looking so miserable in the photos), and they sail off in the noonday sun to live happily ever after with his little package.

  I like your version! It would entertaining if after she gets rejected, she jumps ship, swims back for him and that is the reassure he needed that she was "all in", then he can hide her in the bushes while Nikki arrives.

But I definitely suspect that she did not walk away meekly after being rejected. There have been just a few "loosers" on this show that actually gave the lead a piece of their mind. Amanda meeps at F3 comes to mind. Most F2s are sad,cry a little and then walk away. Chantal got mad at F2.

This shows clearly that JP is looking at his hands and the thumb is what we see that looks like paper in the other SC.  (bringing some of my post from the spoiler side)

It makes sense to me that the limos brought them to a point and then the boats took them from there. A 45 min boat ride in their gowns doesn't seem right.  It would do a big number on their hair & makeup.  That would also explain CH walking Clare because JP would only walk the f2 out to the boat and then it makes sense for CH to retrieve her when it arrives and take her to the limo.  Her carrying her shoes fits best with her being f2 because there's no way she'd do that coming in since we see her walking in the sand with them.

Please, don't tell me he's written his 'speech' and hid it in his sleeve!
