I ADMIT it, in tonight's EPISODE I made a MISTAKE...

I don't have a clue where this was filmed but she was very upbeat and seemed placated by Juan Pablo's explanation of why he regretted the ocean thing. Contrast this with her conference call (yes this isn't going away) when she did not seem so content.

I will repeat that a lead never regrets anything with an F1, let alone admits three times - on screen, in a blog and on twitter that he made a mistake.

Again, though.  He wasn't appologising for WHAT he did but how he addressed it with Clare.  That is what he was appologizing for.

Nope that wasn't it at all. He said what they did was a mistake and not how he handled it (was a mistake).

Mistake with Clare

Later that night, the after party was great. I had really good conversations with all the women, but I could express myself even more with the women I had a stronger connection with.

After the party I was relaxing in my room, watching baseball when someone knocked on my door. It was Clare. She came to thank me for the great day and she wanted to jump in the ocean for the first time with me. She was so happy that I didn't want to reject her, but I definitely made a mistake.

The next day I felt guilty because Clare got more time with me than the other women. I regretted giving Clare the extra time. Also, I didn't think it was a good example for my daughter to watch daddy going into the ocean with a girl at night. I already had a great day with her and even taking her to my pool was something that I should not have done. Honestly, my mistake.

Chris Harrison asked me why I didn't wait couple of days to tell her my thoughts, and I told him I like to address things very quickly and to be straightforward. I wanted Clare to know me better and what exactly my thoughts were. I also told Clare that sometimes I make mistakes. I thought it was better to tell her with a rose in her hand than later when she did not have a rose."

None of the blog apology was to do with how he handled the issue. He was outright saying what they did was a mistake.

He did make it clear in his blogs, etc that the mistake was how he handled it versus the act. That can't be disputed. If you have doubts, check New Zealand date for them. That was explained extremely well.

I just posted the parts of the blog where he very clearly states that what they did was a mistake. Not that the way he handled the situation was a mistake.

Not quite clear why this topic is debated each time someone posts about the fact that JaunP has said that he made a mistake in multiple different forms.

He was not apologizing for how he addressed the subject to Clare.

So when did JP give the girls their bracelets? I noticed on the hometown dates that Clare didn't have on the bracelet when she was walking to meet JP but she did at some point after sitting on the bench.

Sorry he did not in the New Zealand blog either. Here is what he said

"Clare's Date
At this point in my adventure, all of the women already had a one-on-one date so it was time start having second dates. I took Clare on my last date in New Zealand because I was still concerned about how she felt about last week's cocktail party in Vietnam. I knew she felt guilty, and even though I told her it was my fault for not saying "No" when she knocked on my door, I wanted to explain my side to her.

Our date had a drastic change. I was going to pick her up in a helicopter and take it to a canyon, where we were going to do the 'Flying and later that night have dinner there, but the wind was so crazy that day that we weren't allowed to do those things. It wasn't safe conditions so we had to improvise. So, the canyon that I took Clare to during the day was actually where we were going to have dinner that night.

We had a great picnic and we talked for hours about what had happened in Vietnam. We both understood each other's different ways of thinking and respected both points. That's what relationships are all about, respecting and understanding each other and getting to know one another better. That felt really good.


For dinner that night, I took Clare to my suite – I didn't have another place to take her with all of the crazy weather. I also just wanted to have dinner and relax with her. I'm the kind of guy that doesn't need a fancy date, and hanging out with Clare on the couch and just talking was great. She made fun of my Hammer pants (I wear them every time we travel) and I asked her if she wanted to get comfortable and we did. I gave her a pair of my Hammer pants to chill on the couch."


Nowhere he does he indicate or call the way he handled the situation a mistake. Just said he should have said NO in the first place - which means he wishes he had not done what he did.

Again - he did not say that his mistake was how he handled it.....not once.


Also CH pointed out that he noticed that JaunP never once apologized to Clare about how he handled it. If needed I can post that section of CHs interview as well. Just to put this topic to rest !

Just to put this topic to rest !

You can't. The "Mistake" and The Interview (a.k.a. Clare-Gate) are debated as much here as the last presidential election. Once the subject is brought up, the thread morphs into Fox News. Everybody thinks they are right. Everybody has their own take. Once one person proves another wrong, they get proven wrong. Personally I think something else was going on (a.k.a. multiple suite visits and production forced Juan to "cool things off") and all of this fiddle-faddle is "smokescreen" to keep viewers more confused about the outcome.

You should take time out and visit the motherboard (abc.com). There is a thread over there discussing what happens in Andi's fantasy suite. The most popular theory is that the moment the door was closed, Juan turned on the soccer channel on TV.
