Renee's teleconference press interview mentioned that Chelsie and JP were thick as thieves laughing and laughing all the time.  I think they were really attached and comfortable, but with no F1 potential, and probably he decided to let Renee have the HTD.  So many things are in the mix -- families who have been busy at this point making plans for potential visits -- in the deleted scene for this week, Renee and JP are sitting on the sea plane, and he asks whether her son will be a part of the visit.  And she responds clearly that he will, it will be fun for him, etc.  I think he decided to take her one more week over Chelsie because of the kid factor.  Kid had his hopes raised already, no doubt.  By that part of filming, production is advancing potential HTD activities with the families.

Good point!! I find it really curious that he took Renee to F4 and involved son; esp when he said that as soon as he knew she was not the one, he'd let her go back to Ben. Juan Pablo either 1) truly considers Renee a top contender or 2) Renee going to F4 is producer influenced and she is going along in hopes of garnering enough fan support to be next Bachelorette.

Another thing to consider: Juan Pablo said that Sharleen was getting a hometown date so that must mean someone other than Renee was on chopping block. Who would that be: Clare? Andi? I doubt Nikki due to Camilla.  

I could also easily be convinced that Sharleen was a producer plant all along. Her wardrobe was better than any contestant I've seen on this show in 18 seasons ... and any Bachelorette. She either has impeccable taste or worked with an ABC (or her own) stylist ... or both.

Is it just me or does this season seem a bit "off"?

Maybe Sharleen was a producer plant, a default F1 for if Juan Pablo didn't find anyone else?

Here's something that I thought was odd. When the top cap was shown, the VO that went with it was I believe Clare stating, "It's finally time for my love story." Keep in my this would be Clare's LCD. Maybe someone else can weigh in if they think it was Clare's voice.

The odd part is this -- I then played it with closed captioning. It wasn't synced up to the images on the screen, but the caption read as shown in the second cap. Frankly, that statement doesn't even make sense. Why would Andi say that? Does she have some hidden backstory????

So is this a "clue" that Clare is F1? We still have no caps for Nikki's LCD. Why is she so emotional in our previews? Going back to the obstacle to overcome theory...what is Nikki's obstacle that she needs to overcome? Clare's obstacle seems to be always before her...it carries on to the HTD and who knows if those other crying caps are St. Lucia? Is it being resolved in the LCD?

I'm not saying that any of my theories are true, but it sure looks like the previews continue to point to Clare as F1...at least, that's my interpretation.

The episode description makes it seem as if Nikki HTD goes down well, maybe the obstacle will be a conversation on moving to Miami or not? I can't really say who said what it that promo but I do believe that the Clare and Nikki crying scenes- in the hotel- happens in St. Lucia and most likely LCD. It is still odd that we haven't seen Nikki on a LCD or maybe it's hidden in the previews somewhere and we are just missing it. A leg, shadow, hair?

Like you, I also still feel that the promo points to Clare as F1. Not because of the Nikki crying outside scene, I think that will turn out to be the F3 RC. Could the CC people have made a mistake?

I believe all of the previews shown last night happened up through but not beyond the F3 rose ceremony. No LCD screen caps in there. Just my belief that they limited the caps to the 2-night event.
