Thanks lovebites for posting the article. I agree with Trista Sutter's take on JuPa's behavior. It's especially nice to hear Sean and Catherine's views echoed by people for who this process worked.

I think this couple is shining very brightly right now, because everyone can see the difference from last season to this season. Sean and Catherine exemplify true love and a real genuineness that we have not seen this season with Juan Pablo.

I know people fault them for speaking up, and for taking the side of The Bachelor and ABC. But I see it as two people who know that the process works if you let it. I also think that Sean was having a tough time seeing Juan Pablo being so disrespectful to not only Chris Harrison, but to Nikki as well. You could see it on his face. And I think especially after watching Clare talk about how she felt offended, and then Juan Pablo comes out and won't say how he feels about Nikki, which is all anyone wanted. It didn't have to be a declaration of love necessarily, but how does he feel? Saying he feels great is not talking about feelings. Saying she is special, means so much to me, etc., things like that would have shown him and their relationship in a different light. Instead, nobody sees anything between them, and it just shines a brighter light on Sean and Catherine, the fairytale love story from this franchise that all of us love so much. Their light is shining brighter than ever, and I'm so proud to be a fan of this wonderful couple.

I think Sean was one of the best leads this show has seen. He "got it" and played the role the lead is hired to play as well as I've ever seen and probably as well as is possible. He had some great women on his season and he picked the greatest. As well as Sean played his role as the lead, Catherine was a stand-out in her "supporting cast" role and ultimately as F1. They both understood the process, played within it and are now reaping the benefits - the biggest of which is the love they found in each other.

Is it any wonder they have a hard time relating to someone who didn't "get it"???

Hi lovebites! Was wondering where you've been. Thanks for posting this. I agree with everything Trista said here and loved the SeanCat clip too. Luckily this will all pass soon as the focus will instead be on Andi as the new Bachelorette.

Sorry for the double post. I just saw this.

Excellent analysis, Smartcat. And to add to it.... I am certain JPab had his heart set on DWTS. Rumor is there was even a tentative deal for him to be on it. I think the plans he referenced that fell through was that. When the gay comments were made his name was taken out of consideration. That's when JPab became bitter and nasty to the network and the Bachelor producers. He is being a spoiled brat who didnt get what he wanted (DWTS, instead of Nikki)

I like them as a couple. I just think that they are way over-exposed, which indicates to me that they seek a life in front of TV cameras, which personally for reasons that I admit aren't fair (at some level, they are just working for food and shelter ...and nice shoes and handbags... like all of us) lessens their appeal. Happy they found each other, tired of seeing them on TV in connection with this franchise.

But I felt the same about Ali, and now that she's landed her job and branched out, she no longer bugs me.

Perhaps what will come from all this JuanPa angst is that TPTB will actually go over the expectations before someone signs a contract- especially to be the lead. "I never watched so I don't know what to expect" really isn't a valid excuse since full seasons are so available for viewing.

Sean and Catherine are examples of people who knew what to expect- and not expect- from the experience. Could they control tabloids- no? Could they control what comes out of their own mouths -yes. Juan Pa used the LCD to be silent on what he knew was unflattering. And used a "private" moment to embarrass Clare. He didn't like for her to make it public... as Andi had made it public. It only makes me wonder what JuanPa said to Andi about the date with Clare.....

For all the "it was editing" excuses, Sean has put it well- basically "you" will come come through. If you said it and it was unflattering (to you) it will probably be shown if it has any bearing. When JuanPa's mom said things, you saw her lips saying the words.

If there are voiceovers- they can be from anything and then you can question the edit.... or if it's really choppy.

When you look at all these things, I am very happy that ABC did cut JPab off the DWTS. The man is very arrogant and he thinks people owe him something. It is really said to see that Nikki does not even question his behavior. This really makes me sad because come on woman, girls do not need to be that desperate to just settle for any foolishness. It is even sad that his parents did not say anything highly about their son.
