Sean and Catherine Lowe - General Discussion

It's the thread directly under the one you just clicked on. They are referring to our twitter/Facebook discussion thread. The new pix are there that Sean and Catherine tweeted today of their honeymoon.

I am so ambivalent! I agree jcrbil and thankful7. I am thankful for what Sean and Cat have shared. The other part of me wants more pics and more communication from them. I was/ am hoping that when the professional pics are ready they will post some more of them.

My impression when listening to the podcast was that Molly was totally joking when she talked about being paid to attend the party. Just playing off the fact we know they were paid to be at the wedding but would go to this party without being paid because they're actually friends. Again IMO.

I wouldn't expect to see any footage of this party unless they were getting married very soon. I don't think a televised wedding is happening until much later this year at the earliest so it wouldn't make sense IMO.

Well I'm glad to see that Des and Chris had an engagement party, because it looks like they are another couple from this franchise that will really get married. And while some might only like Sean and Catherine, and they are by far my favorite couple, I do watch this show for the possibility of a beautiful love story. Oh, the drama is great, no doubt about that. But seeing other great couples like Trista/Ryan and JP/Ashley and of course Sean and Catherine, make this show a continued must see for me. And as long as there is continued success with these couples, which seems to be on an uphill as of late, then the show will stay on the air. And I cannot imagine my Mondays without The Bachelor/Bachelorette, so I am glad so many couples have been doing so good lately.

I totally agree ILove. It's so nice to see success stories. After all the theme of the Bachelor is to possibly find love and it's nice to see that some people actually do. It makes it a positive experience to watch those happily married couples. Romance lives! Of course I'm involved here as a forever fan of the Lowes but there's still room to enjoy other stories and aside from this season with JuanPablo I've really enjoyed watching the series.

As to Sean and Catherine, their commitment to us, the public, is over. We were, and still are, invested in them and they gave us access to their lives to the end of the story, their wedding. Anything we get now is icing on the cake, a delicious extra.

Do I WANT to see every last one of their engagement pictures and wedding pictures? I sure do. Do I EXPECT to? No, I don't. To me, they should be shared with your family and closest friends. That said, if our couple wants to share one every now and again via a #tbt, I wouldn't object.

A good day to you all. Wishing everyone a good start to the week.

Ok....Don't know where to start, but I'll just say that I agree with what y'all are saying this morning( afternoon for me  :Smiley: ). I am actually pleasantly surprised that another couple from TB gets to walk down the aisle. Good for them. I am not a fan of the show, just Sean and Catherine's. As far as what the Lowe's decide to share with us, I am all for anything they decide on. It's not going to be easy to adjust to the quiet around here after what I think has been a FANTASTIC year for them and US. I have had a blast living a fairytale vicariously through them since they were announced at AFTR in March, up until their wedding. We've really been spoiled rotten IMO. Not to mention ILR fanfics that added to this unforgettable experience. You've all been GREAT and as much as we've had our share of normal disagreements, this fan forum is still the BEST around here. :cutesmile!: 

I agree about them deserving privacy, and that we should give them that. And if they want to share things with us, like Cat posting that IG pic of her nails and talking about a marriage budget, which led to an interesting discussion on here, then that's what we should do.

But to be honest, and this is jmo, and everyone can do as they please, there is something that has made me uncomfortable for awhile and that is the posting of their flights, the airline they are on, the flight departure and arrival times, etc. I just don't feel that is very safe to put on an open forum. It seems like way too much information when we have no idea who is reading this board. And I think it's okay to say there might be flights leaving tonight, today, etc, without saying airlines and times. I have never felt comfortable with that, but again, this is jmo, and everyone can do as they please.

As far as struggling with things, I can relate in a way lipsis. I struggle with the fan fictions and that's the bottom line why I keep stopping them, and mainly why I keep taking them off the board. Sean and Catherine are not really celebrities. They are a couple that got together on a dating reality show and now they are back to normal life.

The only other couple I ever wrote about was Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson when I became a fan after Newlyweds. But they were famous before that show, both of them having sold millions of albums already. Nick was in a boy band and Jessica had been their opening act and also toured with Ricky Martin. They were both famous before the show, and after the show began, they then became very, very famous.

They also did very detailed interviews revealing every little thing about their life, which made writing about them very easy. They were an open book. They also had siblings that were famous, Nick's brother Drew, and Jessica's sister Ashlee. Their friends were on their reality show, so I knew who they were and what they were like.

With Sean and Catherine I know a little about their families, but they are not celebrities. Their friends are definitely not famous and I only know them in pictures. It feels weird for me to write about them, that's why you've seen so little of their friends in the stories.

So I'm finally admitting the real reason why I keep stopping my writing and pulling the stories. This is it, and maybe people might not understand it, but there it is. It just doesn't feel right writing stories about them, the same way it felt to me to write about a very public Nick and Jessica.
