Sean and Catherine Lowe - General Discussion

guys query...how come seancat get flak for grabbing and taking advantage of the freebies presented to them e.g. honeymoon, pics, stuff, etc. when all the other couples from bachelornation also took them before. ( im sure the succeeding ones will take them too, they would be stupid if they don’t JMO) is it because of more social media are available/popular now as compared to then, or seancat are much more out there? Or because they don’t have an 8-5 job that the rest of the other couples have. Or they are so vocal about the opportunities? Or I don’t know  :Frown:  just wondering WHY? enlighten me pls and thanks to those who will bother to answer    

My opinion, for what it's worth, is that it has partially to do with a lot more social media but mainly with the fact that Sean did DWTS. That labelled him, wrongly in my opinion, as a guy who was seeking the fame. Just go back and read posters on here in the non fan site and you will get an eyeful! It was the same out in the public as well. And then when they choose to stay in LA for the summer, well obviously he was still riding out his 15 minutes. I believe for a lot of people he is still viewed through that lense in everything he does. And yes the fact people have no clue what he does for a living and does not ride a desk or punch a time clock adds to that perception as well.

I believe social media has a lot to do with it. People can criticize easily when they're anonymous so they all chime in with their opinions. Back when Trista and Ryan got married they took advantage of everything, too but no social media so not as much criticism. That's my opinion. DWTS didn't help either.

I agree. Both DWTS and the popularity of social media have been a blessing and a curse for Sean. While he has enjoyed many perks that come from being so popular, he also has been scrutinized more the the other leads have. Still, I think Trista is the Queen of Perks. The only reason she isn't scrutinized as much is because her season was so long ago and in the age of no social media. Sean has double of her followers (I think) and, thus, receives double the scrutiny.

The funny thing is that for a couple as grounded and true to themselves as Sean and Catherine, the blather posted on social media is nothing more than a source of amusement; I mean it literally doesn't (and won't) faze them whatsoever

JMO..No matter what..some people will not be HAPPY for Sean and Catherine or any individual(s). It is no difference between them in the public eyes and us in our little world. With that being said, some people would probably want to experience the same opportunities if they had the chance to do so. This is just the way of the world, people set the moods and their environments (if you will). #stay.armored.up #haters.gonna.hate
