MVMom and nd, I originally felt, too, that there was no way Clare could be F1 for the very reason you cited -- she was too exposed in the previews. It didn't make any sense. But, you know I've watched those previews a gazillion times, and now I've just recently completed a marathon watching of all four episodes.

All signs point to Clare as I interpret the screen caps. The show is trying to make next week's drama with Clare look like a deal breaker, but then we see caps of Juan Pablo hanging on Clare in NZ...not the other way around. Whatever happened did not cause him to put on the breaks...at all. Clare is the only one who has two dates in St. Lucia, according to the caps. If the F1 is Nikki, she is super hidden, and if it's Andi, she's even more hidden in terms of St. Lucia. Frankly, the girl who I think Juan Pablo was most interested in pursuing further was Sharleen, but it looks like she goes in Miami.

The thing that has struck me the most as I've re-watched is how TPTB are trying to shape the viewers thinking about Clare. Yes, Clare has offered them up some insecure, clingy behavior, but they have maximized it in their story telling. So many of the comments said about Clare by the other girls have been those time travel caps...the ones identified as being taken post filming. It looks to me like TPTB decided they needed to embellish Clare's story line and got Nikki and Andi, in particular, to speak to this.

I could be WAY wrong. Heaven knows I almost always pick the wrong F1. And frankly, this season especially, I really don't care who it is. Just as long as you're serving ice cream with the cake, it'll be all good!

I always listen to the words and tone of the bachelors when the girls are upset. I know I've said this before but contrast his voice to Clare with his voice/tone to Sharleen. With Clare.. he is a wee bit exasperated when he says 'he is trying to be as fair as possible". With Sharleen all the words and tone seem right... "I know it's hard..." With Clare he is saying back off, with Sharleen, hang on through this. I agree Litta, odd that she seems to go home in Miami. My guess is that she leaves on her own and that may throw the season off. More obvious examples of this were how Sean handled Kacy B or how Ben handled Emily O. It was clear they were going home.

I also think, Juan sounded exasperated because it seems as if Clare was giving him quite a bit of attitude/a hard time. Therefore, he responded in the same manner. Whereas, with Sharleen, she just seemed unsure but a more upset/confused unsure as opposed to Clare's aggravated unsure. He kind of goes off of what the other person is feeling it seems.

Bolded - Yes that is what the previews are trying to say but why would JP be "upset" with Clare when clearly both times he was there and he participated in the swimming/ making out sessions. She didn't tie him up and kidnap him at all. So he should be upset with himself and not Clare. I'm guessing this is part of the behavior CH pointed out in his last blog, JPs actions are causing everyone to scratch their heads.

underlined - This whole post filming thing has me scratching my head. I wish you guys on twitter could ask past cast members who went far in the process if they ever had to come back and re-tell the story for the cameras. That is literally cruel IMO. If an F2 or F3 who has fallen for the lead is forced to return to re-hash parts of the season it is cruel. Can anyone imagine Kelly Jo, Moana, Susan (same season), Molly and even Tenley having to face "heart break" and then talk about it barely a few days later. I don't buy it.

What I can imagine is that the PIs are filmed just prior to the HTDs RC. It is always the F4 that recount the season (last season we had PIs of drew zac w chris and brooks with similar backgrounds) and this season we have Renee, Andi Nikki and Clare whom I am now assuming make the f4 for just this reason - same PI backgrounds.

It's interesting that you bring this up because it was one of the subjects of discussion on Molly and Jason's latest podcast. According to them, the show brings people back to film ITM's, all the time. Even as the season progresses, they call people back to film PI's/ITM's, because editing is ongoing. We have already established that the show producers do not care about the emotional state of these people, once you sign the contract then you are at their disposal to do with as they deem fit!

Jason said that because he has been through the process, he never believes a single thing that is said in the ITM's. They are told exactly what to say or asked leading questions so as to get a desired response.

Maybe his English is muffled here and he intended to say "a few". Yet using caps is curious. "Few" is "FEW"... which means he doesn't want to talk much about what was cut from the show. *chuckle chuckle*

It is quite possible that tonight's episode is just another boring travelogue of the sights and sounds of Vietnam. Everybody holds hands and say they "feel a connection". The ladies fuss about getting a rose. Renee and Juan talk kids as they poke those flower "thangs" in the water. Nikki gets exhausted from her mountain climbing.

Then again, I do not have the most wholesome mind on this forum.
