You can tell that I can't wait for tonight to be over with. I don't even care how the silly show ends... just need it to end.

That's why I like Nikki.  She is just keepin' it real.  Her HTD was the most normal of them all, but normal is "boring" in the Bachelor world.  

  

I actually disagree and think Nikki's was far from normal.  I have three girls and there is way I would be so casual and not be a little worried or concerned with them being on this silly show looking for love.  Of course, I want them happy, but I would ask a ton of questions!!  Maybe Nikki is "keeping it real," but her family was a little to accepting of the show/process.  I actually LOVED Andi's Dad and he was much more "normal," and realistic about it!! ;)

Actually in his blog he said that one of her brothers had concerns. Also, he said Nikki's dad wanted the guy that proposed to his daughter to be 100% sure he was ready for marriage. Sounds like concern to me. Of course, the editing didn't show all of this. That's why this HD seemed "normal".

I noticed 2 things :
- there's only one girl he described in his blog : " Nikki looks amazing". No comment on the others.
- he keeps offering presents to Nikki ( previous episode, this one)

Interesting observation. I know some people might say well her birthday was coming up anyway, so that's why he got her a present. But how come he didn't know it was Cassandra's birthday the day he sent her home. I guess she never mentioned it to him, but somehow he knew it was Nikki's birthday coming up and decided to give her a present.

ITA. Her dad was essentially saying, if you feel it, then go ahead but do not propose just because its a show and break my daughter's heart.

I understand where Andi's dad is coming from, but the flak should be with his daughter who went on the show knowing the premise. Why give the guy grief?

Its not JP's fault Andi is on the show. He likes her and thats why she got the hometown.

The protective Dads should spend their time teaching their daughters not to go on the Bachelor and less time making the Lead look bad. JMH

I actually miss the days when they had straight up episodes with most of the drama swept under the carpet and none of these revolving doors. Contestants stayed till the end and no one was encouraged to bail early nor return after bailing / being eliminated.

But their viewership always goes up significantly so guess there are folks that like things messy.

Trista's season I still have on old VHS. What was so hilarious was how the editors relooped her voice-over (paraphrasing) "the moment Charlie stepped out of the limo, I said.. yup, he's got that look" in episode after episode. In the finale, they were recycling lines spoken at Meet & Greet! Yet all of us TV viewers were so innocent back then.

They also... ha ha!... had Ryan visit her family AFTER Charlie, but edited shots of her mother praising Charlie in PI sessions DURING Ryan's visit... AND... sporting the same clothes as Charlie's visit the day before. Today we would all be laughing our heads off at that editing job.

By the way, that was also the season an LA periodical reported a week before finale time that Trista was caught speeding post-show with F2 Charlie in the passenger seat.

Exactly. He seemed like a normal concerned Dad and he trusts his daughter. Nikki does seem very mature for her age, unlike Clare.  :hidingchair

This probably belongs in another thread (probably HT) but heck I'm here so I'm just gonna say it. Is it fair to think positively or negatively about a contestant because of how "normal" their family is? What makes a HT good? Is it the contestants fault if they have an oddball in the family and it projects badly for the contestant? Should I somehow feel better about a family because there are two parents and three kids (a girl and two boys or whatever you think the perfect combination is....)? Do I look at Des and think she wasn't the one for Sean because of how weird her brother was? You don't get to pick your family and if I brought someone home I'd probably have some explaining to do. Maybe those of us that come from dysfunctional families should get extra points for survival.  :Clap: :Nod:  :hidingchair  :Woah-hoo:
