ABC Wins Monday, ABC’s “The Bachelor” Improves by 9% to Deliver Best-Since-Premiere Numbers

The Bachelor (8-10pm – 8.2 million and 2.6/7 in AD18-49): Gaining for the 2nd week in Adults 18-49 (+4%), The Bachelor earned a best-since-premiere rating – since 1/6/14. In addition, The Bachelor was up over its year-ago telecast (7.9 million and 2.4/6 on 2/4/13) in Total Viewers (+4%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%).

ABC might be throwing Juan Pablo under the bus in Chris H's interviews/blogs but I doubt that TPTB are anxious for this season to end anytime soon. Juan Pablo may not be the most politically correct Bachelor but he is bringing in the viewers and that's really all TPTB cares about.

Controversy increases ratings so, OF COURSE, let Clare do her interviews, build sympathy and keep the story fresh to boost publicity about the 4:00 am swim that TPTB hopes to translate to even more viewers on Monday 2/10. Will this create a boost in viewers tuning in and see how Clare and JP resolve everything??

Who knows ... maybe they are giving Clare the opportunity to build up a fan base of sympathetic viewers to see if this translates to fan support for Bachelorette if she is not F1 (and I just can't imagine that she is!!).

I bet Juan Pablo has more reality tv in his future too. He is beating Sean's week 5 in terms of number of viewers. If his ratings continue to climb, Juan Pablo just might get his own turn on DWTS. He has certainly been auditing for it all season!!

might also be why Nikki and Clare go at it next episode too if the previews are correct about Nikki and Clare fighting.

The fact that it is Nikki that actually gets to meet his daughter is quite a big deal. This means he is comfortable enough and trusts her enough at this point.
Obviously, it is possible that she doesn't actually meet her but just sees her much like Ryan B saw Emilys daughter at the soccer game and Melissa saw Ty sleeping in Seattle.

I agree with the poster above that said that is perhaps the cause of the friction between Clare and Nikki (over and above the previous friction lol)...Clare gets jealous.

The other question I had was how come the episode description said 5 girls are left after the rose ceremony. Do they mean 5 girls are going into the rose ceremony since Sharlene seems to take herself out of the running ?

What if Sharlene is the one that got to meet his daughter and still decided to eliminate herself. That would explain why he was upset.

Entirely possible. Though I think he will be upset about Sharlene leaving even if she didn't see Camilla.

Matching the episode descriptions we have a yatch date, swimming etc. plus an evening formal part of date which does not lend much time to going to watch his daughter in her activity (dance). Whereas the second 1on1 date - we have little or no information about.

I read somewhere (I believe it was the Season episode description) that there was a concert on one of the 1on1 dates in Miami so therefore it is more likely that it is other date that gets a day portion of meeting his daughter.

Reading this makes you wonder if it is Clare making another surprise visit to JuanPablo or will we have another Ed/Jillian situation with volcanoes erupting?  :giggle: :giggle:
