Clare Crawley - Bachelor 18 Contestant - Spoilers - Discussion

murasaki1393, I don't equate Chris and Clare at all. I fully believed the spoiler last season, not because of RS, but because of all of Des's declarations about wanting a proposal from Brooks and really seeming to have to be reminded by CH in their chats that Chris was a front runner too. With that said, I actually thought the whole way through that it was too bad that she fixated on Brooks, because she and Chris were a much better fit. I don't really like Des and I don't know if she is a great actress or had an incredibly rapid change of heart, but either way Chris was a great guy and she got very lucky to get him. I don't think they ever edited Chris as crazy, I think they made fun of his poetry a little, but other than that to me Chris seemed to get a good edit. The whole nose thing on the HTD was weird, but other than that I thought he had a great HTD and Des really seemed to enjoy it.

Clare on the other hand has been selfish and to me sometimes rude to the other women. I do see CH defending Clare, but I also see him throwing Juan Pablo under the bus, which he never did with Des. I feel like CH defending Clare isn't really all that similar to him bringing up the Chris and Des connection all the time, since CH seems to not really like Juan Pablo at all.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong. To me Chris is a great guy and equating him to Clare is kind of a put down.

Can't stand Clare .. She is a phony, conniving needy woman .. All she can do is dump all over Nikki as being disliked and a witch .. When in fact she is talking about her own behavior

I still don't think Clare is F1 and if she is I feel sorry for Juan Pablo. I would, however, like it if Nikki were the next bachelorette.

I also don't understand all the disdain for Clare. She is obviously attracted to JuanPa is making sure that he knows it. I'm just relieved that she didn't profess her love for him after just a few weeks and doesn't have major-melt downs when he spends time with the other ladies! It's been done before by a contestant and boy was THAT tiresome...and manipulative. Clare does make the most of her time with JuanPa and isn't shy about creating opportunities to be with him. I think we can all agree that TPTB were the ones that set up the swim-in-the-ocean deal though.

It's interesting that a person who knows Clare describes her as confident, having a zest for life, caring of others and someone who rescued a dog from an animal shelter. Maybe falling for a guy that is dating multiple women while being provoked by multiple producers is getting to Clare. She wouldn't be the first contestant that reacted emotionally the stress.

I must admit that i dont watch this season religiously. I was in peaceful life in my cave, until.... the epis.5 when the Courtney 2.0 gate took place, which had tickled my brain  :shocked!: , thinking, what MF the devil   has been up to?

Just to be clear, i dont equate Clare and Chris personality-wise. Not even close. No one could ever top my Prince Seigfried`s perfection, in my book..LOL  :eyesigh: . He is my fav bachelor contestant of all-time.(as you know me, one of the craziest limited edition of shenanigans he could ever have..LoL    ).Along with some others, I got invested in Chris and this board last season in an extent that had interfered RL   . Bittersweet memories..LoL... .

As for Clare, i couldn`t care less. I am only chirping in to point that IMO, something fishy is going on with the editing. IMO We should not rule out Clare as the F1 merely due to her bad editing. We have had the Ben saga, after all, right?. I mean, Clare could not be worse than Courtney, could she?. Eventhough, post season we also get insight that Courtney in person is actually a good friend of Casie/Casey(?), and rather, quite a sweet person, a differing opinion that we always may or may not agree with  :Smiley: .
After Chris`s HTD last season, many veteran folks here ruled out Chris as the F1, saying, no F1 ever got the ridic edit (ie. nose, chiropractor scene) before. Only after JBF addressed all of the meaning of the PIs and VOs of that episode we got a better idea that the storyline need some kind of `fixing` effects took place toward Dhres and Chris preceeding Brooks saga that would coming . CMIIW.

Last season, along with several partners in crime,including JBF, we had discovered that interviews during and post-season, editing, storyline, the lead`s blog as well as SCs and analysis on social media was better indicator than the spoilers. For some reasons, i do think from a little ive seen this apply to this season as well. MF got something2 going on to have RS get punked again..LoL... :P . As i dont follow the storyline closely, my guess the main storyline for this season is Clare-Juan have to face some hurdles to overcome in order to be together. One of this is she has to break her `ice`, which Juan addressed in People blog epis.2., as something he hope he could help to overcome. As delusional and phony the storyline is to us, they MUST deliver a bold storyline (along with the edits) to tell, whether we like it or not, whether we believe it or not. Its a freakin reality TV SHOW after all...LoL.  . ALL we have to do, IMO, is open our eyes, be analytical, and get our investigation senses going, to predict the outcome correctly.

Of course, there are MAJOR differences of the editing between Bach and Ette. Maybe some veteran, expert folks could help us on this furthermore, based on past seasons. As far as i know, for Bach, they tend to throw the lead (and sometimes with his F1) under the bus, whenever they can. Mind you, IMO, Sean (as perfect as he is, in the eyes of many) was not an exception, with the Tierra saga and Ashlee`s confrontation in ATFR. Its just their nature...... .

We had a great picnic and we talked for hours about what had happened in Vietnam. We both understood each other's different ways of thinking and respected both points. That's what relationships are all about, respecting and understanding each other and getting to know one another better. That felt really good.

To me, this is so.. suspicious...LoL... It seems that they are on the same page of many things. While we may not fond of her attitude on screen, aka as per edit, if they `click`, thats all the matter for JP. Of course, IMHO. FWIW

Clare has gotten on my nerves right from the start. I don't believe her edit supports her being f1. She's getting a similar edit to Chantal in Brad's season although I liked her a lot more than Clare. They have a lot of chemistry but that's all IMO.

The reason they let Courtney's bad side shine through was because Ben wasn't giving them anything to work with. They had to give some doubt because he was so obviously gaga about her. JP on the other hand has shown a lot of attraction to a few of the others.

Its funny that i think otherwise. She is the only one who got 2 1-1 date so far, with both dates involving dancing to a theme song. The thing is, to me TPTB has this weird obsession of having the F1-lead dancing to theme song(s) starting from Des`s season. Chris got the act on epis.3 and 5. while Clare on 2 and 6. (with the same song!! titled ` Hold Me..?.something, which i assumed have smth to do with her `breaking the ice`- geeez   ). It is always amusing to read JBF analysis of the song lyrics. I look forward to it.  .Please Prof, put it up!!..  

IMO JP also obviously gaga about Clare more than the others. He seems more emotional and talkative with her. Given the fact that he is not so articulative in English, that is very telling to me.

I dont see resemblance of Brad-Chantal in this case. Brad always got more emotional with Em compare to Chantal, while he obviously has physical attraction to her. I observed in JP`s case, he develop both, emotional and physical, toward Clare.

Well, guess this is the beauty of the board. We may agree to disagree anytime

You hit the nail on the head albean99. Clare thought she had the F1 locked up after her late night ocean romp. When JPab expressed regret, she realized at the point that he had feelings for other girls, and that is why she started to cry.

I do think that she once again "thinks" she has the F1 sewn up, after their date this week. She is going to be a site to see, if in fact she isn't the F1.

if i can recall correctly, (paraphrasing her words), she cried because she has no intention to disrespect his daughter. and she was also bummed that JP didnt say NO on the spot, then and there.

I see what you are saying, but saying she is the first one to have 2- 1 on 1 dates, is really a moot point. She was the first one to have that date, and she has gone the longest(with the exception of Andi) without a 1 on 1, it makes more sense to give her a 2nd date, since she has gone the longest.

I think the more telling sign of where his heart is, is his 2nd one on on date with Nikki. She had a one on one a week ago, and yet he is choosing her for another one on one this week. He could have chosen Sharlene, Renee or Chelsie, who's one on one's were longer ago(or the same week with Renee.) But, he chose Nikki, and I think that is very telling.

He always comments on "how hot" Clare is, or says "she is on fire." That is all physical attraction, and that eventually fades. He talked about Nikki's heart, and how good it was, plus he commented on "how sexy she was" To me, is seems his has both the emotional and physical aspect more with Nikki. But, like you said, disagreeing is the beauty of this board.

This. I think that what she to JP was a front to hide her real reason for being upset.
