Sean Lowe & Catherine Giudici - Bachelor 17 - General Discussion

I was not a Bachelor/ Bachelorette fan.  An acquaintance encouraged me to watch during Sean's season. I watched the last show on TV. I then checked the web for additional info /videos about SeanCat and also, found this wonderful Fan/Fun forum. Again, thanks so much to everyone on this forum. :)

I really like Sean and Catherine's personalities ( especially Catherine) - very funny, nice, relatable, smart, witty, smiling/ happy most of the time , not boring, frugal etc. Also, enjoy watching their interactions and the progression of their relationship.

I also liked watching SeanCat's interactions with the paparazzi. In one of the PopCandies TV videos,  SeanCat were asked about the odds/ percentage of them beating the "Bachelor curse".  Catherine said they have "made it through a lot ". She said 100% and Sean said 150%. I hope with our prayers and their commitment to each other, our favorite couple will be happy together - forever.

I started watching the franchise from the beginning as a guilty pleasure, half giving up on Jake and Ben's seasons, and completely checked out on Emily's season. I loved Brad 1.0, but even then I was not really invested. You see, I'm a very logical (iow, cynical, skeptical) person and never one to gush or drawn to mushy romantic things - never dreamt about my future Prince Charming as a girl, hated Disney's version of fairy tales, even my own marriage proposal was a matter-of-fact "ok, it's time to get married, you in?", lol. In fact, I'm just not the fan girl type - don't follow any celebrity or sports team, didn't have a twitter account, don't care about any Hollywood gossips, you get the gist.
So, I didn't know anything about Sean or his season. It was by chance when I flipped through the channels that I saw the commercial of the upcoming FD episode. I was immediately intrigued by Cat and decided to stay tuned. It was Sean's "I'm the lucky one, promise", and the "look" between them that really tucked my heart string like never before. I was hooked and had to go back and catch up on all the other episodes wherein they interacted, and i could see the most genuine and beautiful love story growing right then and there. I cried during their proposal, and seriously, I must have watched the HTD, FD, LCD, and the proposal hundreds of times. I googled them, and that's how I came across this forum. I spent so much time going through the archives, and when I was done, I just had to join. So, the rest is history. I don't post much but I check in everyday to get updates on them. I want to thank you all for making this place a happy place. I've never in my life so obessed about any reality couple, and I'm glad that SeanCat is the one and only. I truly believe in them.

ETA:  If ever Sean and Catherine would do TAR, I know they would ran it like Kris and Jon did.  They never fought, very supportive of each other, always laughing, took the time to enjoy the culture and country wherever they were, Jon and Kris both had a rockin' body, got along well with the others racers, the only thing I would change is that they would win instead of ending up 2nd.   

I loved Kris and Jon! They were such a wonderful, supportive, sweet couple. The fact that they lost that season to Freddy and Kendra still sticks in my craw! Anyway, I'm so happy for them that they're married with a baby boy. They're lovely.

Anyway, I've watched the Bachelor/ette since Andrew's season. I loved him and Jen, Meredith and Ian, and Andy and Tessa, and Jason and Molly, but I was never invested enough with any of them to follow them afterwards, other than watching J&M's wedding. Fast forward to Ashley's season. I couldn't stand Ashley on Brad's season, and wasn't planning to watch her season. But I finally tuned in for Episode 3, and during her date with JP, I just knew they were going to end up together. I'd never seen chemistry like theirs on the show, and I became totally obsessed with them, which is how I found this board. I never had a single doubt that Ashley and JP would get married. Their relationship felt so "real" to me, and it was immediately obvious post-show how committed they were to making their relationship work.

I watched Ben and Emily's seasons, but couldn't have cared less about either season, save for the fact that I fell in love with Sean before Emily's season even started. Based on the information we uncovered about him and all the pictures of him with Kensington and Smith, he seemed like such an amazing guy. Much too amazing for Emily, LOL! I had so much fun hanging out in that thread with umngirl that season. :Smiley:  I was thrilled when they chose him as the Bachelor, because I knew he would take it seriously. Even before his season started, I felt in my heart that he'd be the first Bachelor to marry his F1.

I knew from the spoilers that Catherine was F1, but I never let that color my perceptions (I hated Courtney and Jef, for instance). From the moment they met, though, they just sparkled to me, and it got better and better as the season went on. And I saw the same kind of friendship, love, and commitment in them that made me fall in love with Ashley and JP. And the same way I had 100% confidence that Ashley and JP would get married (even when naysayers in their threads insisted otherwise), I have 100% faith that Sean and Catherine are going to make it down the aisle as well. I can't wait to watch it!

Thanks. I have tried to log in and the Welcome New Member box continues to display. It won't let me log in and I need to use my IPAD. I can only view at this point. Any other suggestions? :bigsmile:  

I use my iPad all the time. At the top of the page it says INDEX. To the right of the index there is a down arrow. Touch the arrow and it will pull down 3 icons. Touch the CLASSIC VERSION. This will take you to the online version. Hope that helps. :Smiley: 

Aww, this is like seriously the best thread ever. I love reading everyone's stories, and how we all came to love Sean and Catherine. It's amazing to me how many people they have touched with their love story. It's so heartwarming!!

I don't post a lot, but I like reading yours Archer along with others here who express their thoughts here on this forum so eloquently.

Kris is very much like Catherine in personality, always smiling, smart.  I also remember how much they gush about each other on the show, Jon saying how sexy Kris was and Kris saying how hot Jon was.  I was also heartbroken when they lost, but at least they won a lot of trips for finishing first in several legs.  Anyway, I've only just found out that Kris and Jon got married in 2011, 7 years after being on TAR, and that they now have a son.  They now live in Cabo and own a club there. I've also recently discovered their twitter accounts and while backreading, found this cute exchange:

I don't know who these people are but those tweets, wow, be still my heart. That sounds like Sean and Catherine for sure!! WOW!! Love it, thanks for posting.

Okay.  I'm always late out here in the Pacific.  

I've watched all the Bach/Ette seasons except the first one (Alex).  I like all the married couples (Sutters, Mesnicks, Rosenbaums) but never obsessed over them and never followed them.  When I watched Emily's season, I liked Sean but wasn't crazy about him.  I wasn't particularly attracted to the blonde, beefy hunk types.   I was glad Emily chose Jef as I pictured him as a funky, cute, nice guy and not a beefcake.  I was glad someone like him was chosen.  I was sad when they broke up.

I started to watch Sean's season, thinking he would end up with a pretty beauty pageant looking type of girl.  Was I ever wrong.  I heard Catherine was F1 and was surprised.  They seemed so different.  As the season went along, I was pleasantly surprised to find out Sean was a funny, goofy guy who was really open to all kinds of women.  His personality came out so much better than when he was with Emily.  I began to really like him.

I loved Catherine's bubbly personality and loved seeing how excited she got every time she saw Sean, jumping up and down and giddy.  I worried that he may be too conservative for her.  As time went by, I realized you can be very different but if that special love is there, you can work out anything.  As long as the core values are similiar, you can succeed.  In one interview, Sean was asked if he knew everything about her and he said he knows her heart.  All the other details will come in time.  They may seem different on the outside, but their core values, faith, love of family, etc are similar and I know they will succeed.

Seeing the way he looked at her made me fall in love with them.  I had never followed any couple before but this couple made me see that it doesn't matter how different your backgrounds may be.  They have such a special love that it can overcome anything.  And Cat has fit in so perfectly with his friends and lifestyle that it seems theirs is a match made in heaven!

We did have WAY too much fun that season in Sean's thread. It was the ultimate happy place.

Alright, here's my story. I have watched the show from the beginning, never missing an episode. It started out as a mother-daughter thing. My mom, my sister, and I would watch together every week. We just loved talking about what was happening and spending time together with our crazy schedules. As I got older and moved on to college, it was something I enjoyed watching with friends/roommates. It still is that to me. I have been a member at FoRT and JU over about 5 years and found this forum after FoRT stopped doing sleuthing and spoilers. I absolutely loved those so I needed to find a new place.

Throughout all the seasons, I have only been this invested one other time. Now I may duck when I say this, but I was a huge Jillian/Ed fan. Like diehard. I was even more obsessed with them than I am with SeanCat. I spent that season on FoRT and JU where it was very, very brutal. I was always stressed out about it and trying to argue with others constantly. It was exhausting. A small group of their fans created our own private board. We had an "in" with Jillian so she shared private photos with us, corresponded with us, and even spent a few hours in our live chat one night answering questions. After they broke up, I swore I would never be that invested in another couple/contestant from this show. Well, then I found out Sean would be on Emily's season. Needless to say, he was my instant favorite. He is exactly my type. After seeing all the pictures of him with his family and reading a ton about him, I knew I didn't want him to end up with Emily. Truthfully, I wasn't thrilled he was going to be the Bachelor. Don't get me wrong, I knew he was doing it for the right reasons and would take it seriously, but I didn't trust TPTB. Well, after they released the contestants for his season, I saw several that seemed normal and like a good match. It wasn't until I saw the picture of Sean gazing at Sean on her HTD date that she was on my radar. Well, once the season was spoiled, I was very happy because I thought she looked like an awesome person from the pictures/info in her thread. Once the show starting airing, I knew I was in trouble. These two just have the "it" factor about them. They just seem to fit together. No one else that season seemed to ever be able to compare. It made being a fan of them so easy. There are so many moments that made me love them even more, from the first kiss, to their snuggling in the ice castle, to Sean comforting her when she told those tough stories, then the FD/LCD/proposal and everything in between. Since the season ended, I've come to love them even more. Their connection and love just rings true. You can see it in the photos and how they talk about each other. I'm glad they allow us even a small glimpse into their lives with the tweets/IG pictures. I can't wait til we get to see the wedding and the gorgeous photos from it.

But most of all, I love coming here because of all of you. This place can find a way to make me smile on my toughest day, make me cry happy tears, and make me laugh til my sides hurt. Following SeanCat just wouldn't be the same without these threads.

I haven't watched a complete season of the Bachelor/ette until now. Actually, the first episode I watched was when I was flipping channels and came upon Sean & Cat's hometown date. There was something about the two of them that hooked me "line and sinker". I've since watched all the episodes and am still reading all the old posts on this board. I'm so glad I found this forum. This is the first one I've ever joined and it's been a wonderful experience. I think Sean and Cat are so perfect for each other but I must admit that there were times when I was worried that they would not make it (just based on the success rate). There are some on this board (you know who you are) that instilled my confidence in their relationship when I needed it (especially during DWTS). While I'm happy that they have entered into a normal life in Dallas, it will be bittersweet because there probably won't be as many pics or posts like we are used to (until the wedding that is). Thank you everyone for making this forum such a great place where we can discuss all things Sean & Catherine!

Because it has been a slow night, I've started reading the old Contestant thread for Catherine and came across this blog by possessionista.... It is hilarious..
