A lot of Sean's "confusion" was all for show, said through VO on the show and played up in interviews/articles to keep people guessing about the ending. I mean just earlier this month he said he would have basically ended the show had Catherine left near the end while Lindsay was sitting right there. I also remember at one of the Southern Women's Show he talked about about when he knew it was Catherine and he definitely said it was before the last dates. And who can forget that he told CH he was in love and going to propose before the F3 RC.

Even on his GMA interview, he said our relationship was slow to begin but one it did I knew it was Catherine and I could never see myself saying good-bye to her. I think in people magazine he said our first kiss change everything for us and I knew I was falling in love with Catherine.

I also believe that action speaks louder than words.

Missed you today umngirl, you have a great insight always about Sean and Catherine. I think we all have to remember that we had a play within a play.A real and true love story that took place in a sometimes dumb reality program. The participants have to please the producers to some extent and keep within the story line. The viewers want suspense.
I have no doubt that Sean knew it was Catherine early on but he kept the story line. I don't think he did not have some feelings for Ashlee, and even more feelings for Lindsey but they were infatuation at best. He was deeply in love with Cat. The program played out with a suspensful story line but Sean knew and we all knew it was Cat. I've watch the FD when Cat ran after him so many times and when he leaned down to kiss her neck I could swear he says "it's you" He couldn't tell Cat he loved her until the proposal and he nearly choked as he couldn't get the words out fast enough or hug her to him tight enough.

When jewelry designer Neil Lane landed in Chiang Rai, Thailand, he came bearing six engagement rings to show Bachelor Sean Lowe.

“Sean took it very seriously and looked carefully at each of his choices — including round- and princess-cuts — but once he saw the cushion-cut stone with all the romantic details, he knew this one was perfect,” says Lane, of the 3.15-carat platinum-and-diamond sparkler Lowe slipped on Catherine Giudici’s finger during his teary-eyed proposal on the show finale. “When he made his choice — of the ring, and of which woman he was picking — he was absolutely certain.”

Lowe was eager for the vintage-inspired ring to reflect Giudici’s “style, spirit and fashion sense,” says Lane. “He was really into it and loved that the cushion-cut was soft and romantic, with a vintage vibe that connected the modern and the past. It resonated with him since it combined Catherine’s sensibility as a modern woman with an appreciation for the past, and older things.”

The ring, which a giddy Giudici calls “classic and timeless,” features a center diamond exquisitely set with 164 smaller round diamonds. “Sean was so great to work with — one of the nicest, most sincere guys and a real gentleman,” says the celebrated designer, pictured below with Lowe. “And most importantly, he was confident he had found the love of his life in Catherine. I’m so happy for them!”

This doesn't say anywhere that all the rings were in her size. I'm still wondering where you read that. Although, Neil Lane probably has all his rings in one size and then they can be resized as necessary so it's possible that Cat wears that size so it fit her right away. But, I thought it looked a little big on her finger when she first had it on.

I'm disappointed that Catherine's LCD was not on Sean's birthday and that Sean spent his last birthday with Lindsay. All this time I thought they were together on his birthday and that the FRC was the next day. No wonder Catherine was upset, if he was going to spend his birthday with Lindsay. I wonder if she even knew it was his birthday. I'm sure the subject of when is your birthday must come up on these dates, although I think the producers pick the order of the dates not The Bachelor himself. But I could see Catherine being upset because she knew he still had a date with Lindsay.

I think at the ATFR ceremony that Sean was telling Lindsay that he knew it was Catherine after his LCD with Lindsay, not his date with Catherine. That's what I've always thought he meant, but since Lindsay's date was last, that doesn't make as much sense, because to me he looked head over heels in love that whole LCD with Catherine. He looked that way since the FD  with her, and even more so on the LCD. And he even told Chris after the FD that he was in love and ready to propose.

There really must be something written in these contracts where they have to say they are torn on camera to have a storyline. Nothing else makes sense to me.

During Sean's hometown visit with Lindsay the only thing he did that I didn't like is he tapped her on her bottom lightly as they went into the house to see his parents. I think he knew it wasn't her at that point and he probably shouldn't have done that but he's a guy so I'll let it go lol. But other than that, he sat far away from her on the couch and she was the one giving him all the kisses goodbye. When she sat down in the van, he did not reach inside for another kiss. Now when Catherine sat on the couch with him, he wasn't far away from her, she was leaning into him and his arm was around her. In the van, he reached in for one more kiss. He initiated all of that. So to me, there is no way he was confused or conflicted. This is a show and they need a plotline. And the two LCDs do not even compare, especially the way he was looking at Cat the whole day and night. It was written all over his face how he felt about her.

But still, it sucks that she wasn't with him on his birthday. But I guess it doesn't matter, she gave him the best present of all when she accepted his proposal.

I really have complete faith that he knew much much early on whom he's going to propose to, but then again why was Catherine always on the chopping block in the last RC's, and Sean looked real pensive, tormented and TORN, i hope it was all for show, that the producers/editors did some serious editing to make us believe that he was torn up to the last minute,

Yes, for him to say he would have left if Cat did a "Brooks" definitely shows he knew early on.  To me, Sean is a very smart man and knows what it takes for The Bachelor to be a success.  Keeping viewers guessing and in suspense.  His season was very successful because of him.  And to top it all off, the producers edit and switch things around like making someone's date seem like the first one when it was actually the second one.  They are very sneaky.  

Not that I think Sean is deceitful.  I think he is a very honorable guy and he truly seemed to hate hurting the women he sent home.  I'm just saying he knows how the show works and how to not show who he is leaning  towards.  I mean, he couldn't very well say, "Okay, guys, it's only episode 4 but I know it's Catherine so let's wrap it up!"

Well at the F4 RC, it was down to Cat and Des per rose order because they had the only HTD with some drama. And the F3 RC, his hesitation wasn't because he was torn, it was because he felt extremely bad about sending AshLee home.
