Des is not in anyway still pinning for Brooks.
Thank you Joy! Not surprising to some of us and would love to know what "certain things" were not shown! Sneaky tptb!! ;)

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
I am curious if she realized it was a mistake while filming was in progress or at what point? Why didn't she mention this is any of her post-show interviews? She probably would have gotten less flack if she had said "I was beginning to realize Brooks and I wouldn't have worked out and I wanted to give it a go with Chris". Was she under a gag order? The honest truth is never told by any of these contestants, I"m sure because they are not allowed to.joy08 wrote:I was not going to post this before but felt I had to because of some of the posts above. I don't think she is pinning away anymore and is happy with her decisions.

I agree with that.albean99 wrote:Perhaps the word delusional should be avoided when talking about fellow members. It's never going to come across well IMO.

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
Exactly. I think both Des and Chris knew what was going on and were fine with it considering how happy they are. Fleiss got his ending that he wanted in the form of sticking it to RS for spoilers gone wrong. Des and Chris didn't have to worry about the ragmags chasing them around. So all was good.IrishGal wrote:I'm going with...their lips are sealed by TPTB. They wanted the failure of all spoilers and they finally got it. A huge coup!

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
To be honest, I thought that during the Katie Couric interview, Des almost slipped and said "Brooks" when she said that there were red flags with some of the guys. She jokes it off by saying something about there being so many guys with "B-" names. At the time, I didn't make anything of it since it was on pace with Bryden's departure, so the "Br" could have just been her starting to say his name. That she stopped before saying it in full makes me think that she had someone else on the tip of her tongue.IrishGal wrote:I'm going with...their lips are sealed by TPTB. Only time will tell if Des and Chris are Deanna and Jesse 2.0 though I'd have expected TPTB to let her talk to Deanna and not just Ali if that were the case! I do think that Brooks leaving the show woke both Chris and Des up--that them being a couple was the ending. Though I see Des into Chris on their FSD, I think that their LCD was the new beginning. I think that they both wanted to try their relationship out in the real world. As soon as the cameras turned off, they got to it. At this point, there's so much that these two have shared that outweighs the show. I imagine that they've both divulged the truth behind the scenes to each other.

And yeah, at this point, there's no benefit to Des divulging any more about what really happened. If they break up, we might get more info.

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
Semantics aside, I have no issues with Des and Chris building on whatever they had established during the show...as they seem to be doing. My issue was the quick turn around and engagement. My issue now is with the fans that are currently totally re-writing the show. I pop in occasionally to the various fan threads just for a quick peek and it just makes me shake my head. The things that occured during the show...the repeated declarations of love of Brooks to CH, her declaration of love and holding her heart to give to Brooks, are all being discounted. Now, keep in mind, I am not a for Brooks. I am looking at this logically. Earlier and earlier "proof" of her love for Chris is being discovered and everything else is becoming increasingly dismissed as acting on her part as part of the show.
I understand how the show works and that some stringing along (acting included) is par for the course for the lead. However, logically, I just can't place what happened this season with Brooks in that group. Des is not that good of an actress. (She barely seemed to be able to muster up any emotion during the whole rest of the show.) The producers, while known for their verrrry creative editing, also, when everything is boiled down, tell the basic truth of the "love" story and Des being just dismissively infatuated with Brooks does not compute. That does not mean that she didn't have feelings for Chris and that they could not build upon those in real life, post show, just that I don't buy the revisions that are coming fast and furious.
On a more personal note...for whatever reason...I just can't seem to buy into Des and Chris and their love story. I don't really understand why? They seem like a good match and they seem to be doing well in Seattle, and yet???? I just don't understand. Maybe it's because they both seem to be so low key with their emotions to me and yet they keep tweeting out things like "with my lover', "with my love", "with my financee" and pimping out the poetry book which is proof of their love every other second? For whatever reason, it just seems kind of forced to me. Oh well, end of rant. Thanks for listening and now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
I do think that this season was much more clear cut than any other. When I look at it, Des was interested in only two guys this season. The one didn't want her, and she chose the other one who did want her because she cared about him enough to try a relationship. If it was always storyboarded to end up that way, that's left to interpretation and speculation. Whether Chres is a sham, a business ploy, a mix of both, or real love, well, camps here will differ, but I can't help but root for them. If they don't make it, it'll be a bummer, but nothing unexpected for this franchise!

Re: Brooks Discussion Group
I know that nothing I say will change anyone's mind and unfortunately, nothing anyone else has said has changed my mind either. I was just venting because I had popped over to one of the fan threads and I saw the revisions being written and just had to spout off somewhere. I know how things get post season every year, so I'm not surprised but for some reason it just bugged me more than usual and when things bug me, I HAVE to vent.veg_out wrote:Sprite, I think that most people have just moved on now. Some posters believe it was always Chris, some believe it was only Brooks and Chris is a face-saving maneuver, some believe that the earth is still the center of the solar system. Point: each group of fans has their version of events, and nothing's going to change anyone's mind.

I don't know what it is about her season since I didn't really care one way or the other, but, post season it is annoying me more than Jake the fake and the plastic Emily put together.
On another note...always have to smile when I see your avi Veg. Wish Ryan was the next bachelor!
