You do have to wonder what would've happened if Des hadn't gotten engaged so quickly. She could've waited and told Chris that they'd just date. But she was desperate to get engaged in the specified time she gave herself. And now she's kind of stuck. Maybe Brooks would've considered dating her at a slower pace. Girls just seem to never know what a good thing they have in Brooks. If she really loved him she wouldn't have gotten engaged to Chris. She would've taken the chance that she would end up with nobody just so maybe she could see him again. I don't know if Brooks would've been interested in her after all the making out she'd done on the show, but maybe he would've at least found that a little heartwarming that she got engaged to no one.

I feel like she cut off her own nose by getting engaged to Chris so quickly.

If I were her, I'd regret it, but that's because I'm a Brooks fan.

I wonder if her getting engaged so quickly stems from the fact she got dumped twice on nationl television within a matter of a few months ?? Makes me wonder....All I know for sure is I am missing the adorable couple I grew to love over the summer. However, I support Brooks ...he knows his heart far better than I do. It's still hard to vision Desiree with Chris...hes a nice enough guy...I guess it feels awkward for me to see them together because I never pictured Desiree with anybody but Brooks.

Same here. I think she may love Chris, he is a great guy, but she was in love with Brooks and he will always have part of her heart.

Guys, I don't know...if its just that I saw the writing on the wall with all the clues that Chris was F1 but I don't get where people are getting the idea that Brooks still wants Des albeit "deep down". He dumped her. He said she wasn't the love of his life and didn't see himself EVER being in love with her. I'm not sure how much clearer he could be on this topic. I just don't see how that can be ignored. Sorry, I'm not getting it or why people would expect a reconciliation in the future. When Brooks found out Des was engaged I saw a look of utter relief on his face. I didn't see any longing or regret. I saw a smile.

A funny reviewer described his visible (yet subtle) jubilation as the equivalent of getting the news on "Maury" that he was NOT the father.

sfrank, we are going thru our 12 step program. If you are over it that is great. I for one am not because my fairytale was Brooks and Des. We will all get there but in the meantime be patient with us who are a little slower with this process. Praying

I got the opportunity to talk to his cousin and she was reluctant to talk and I won't say all she said, but Brooks is not still in love with Des. He made the best decision for him and for her ultimately. His sister sent in his application for the show without him knowing about it. He went ahead and did it and did develop feelings for Des but not strong enough to last after the show. Its very unusual being away for so long from friends and family, everything you do being monitored constantly and Des being the only girl in the picture. It was very hard to leave because he didn't want to hurt her. When he returned home he had to have major surgery on his finger. It was very messed up and a bad break. The episodes following the dodgeball date he was quite medicated and his cousin said the whole family could tell and probably also a reason we didn't seen very much of him.

Lorijbaker! You are wonderful, sweet soul, you!!! Thank so much for that info! I WISH you could tell us more! Yeah, I am not under any delusions that he still wants. Bummer on his finger, that sucks! Please share more if you can think of anything else that won't get you into trouble with his cuz! :)
