Oh, I don't blame them. I just thought it was funny. But, the other 'fans' seem to have gotten a pic too. Do they have a game there every day or something? I wonder where he headed off to today?Piper61 wrote:Hey, that's my hometown team, and I'd be all over that if I was there! If I was invested as a major Brooks fan, I'd be disappointed at the outcome as a viewer too, lol.Rolly wrote:Let me start by saying I love all the pictures and updates of Brooks. Many seem to be happy about moving on to this new phase but I'm still not there yet. Is anyone else still totally in shock with what happened last week? I'm new at this so what is an appropriate amount of time to grieve an ending that still seems so wrong to me?
Secretviewer had a post yesterday that seems to be how I feel right now. Why do I still feel so sad about the outcome? Maybe because I was spoiled and so sure Brooks was coming back the question wasn't if, it was how. The week from 7/29 to 8/5 took forever. Would the last episode start with him turning the car around and running back to Des? Would he go talk to CH again and say that he had made a mistake. Would he show up at the FRC ?(I was hoping not). He was gonna go back but how?
Then is the disappointment of not being able to see Des and Brooks on their FD and LCD. The setting was so beautiful and romantic and Des was so excited. It was all the dreaming about their love continuing to develop and Brooks realizing what she meant to him. I had all these wonderful scenarios in my mind (so did Des) and none of it came true. The show dragged on and on and on and no Brooks. The ending sucked, I'm just saying.
I know Chris is thrilled and Des does seem happy but I still think she settled. Brooks has moved on but sometimes I wonder if he has regrets. ATFR there seemed to be unresolved feelings between them. He was so close he could touch it.... I wonder what would have happened with a little more time and without the pressure of a proposal. I guess we will never know.
However, I don't think she settled but gave herself a chance with Chris. She'll probably come to realize what a great person he is and he might be what she was actually looking for all along.
All that wondering about what could have happened w/more time and pressure- I think yeah, maybe they would have had a shot as with many contestants on the show. We'll never know. It could also even be said if she ended up with Brooks that she settled because of all that happened- choosing a guy who did not love her back as much as she loved him. I think if Brooks wanted it to work out, he would find a way for it to work out instead of leaving her. He could be in the spot where Chris is now, starting their life together, etc. I don't know exactly what happened in the whirlwind of that break-up.
But I'm a believer that everything happens for a reason. If Brooks needs to find the "love" feeling he's felt before, he'll find it with the right one. I don't think Des is the girl for Brooks, even if she wasn't with Chris and picked no one. Brooks seems like a great guy and this whole ordeal was extremely refreshing to watch! It's why you can't hate him at all!

Re: Brooks Forester - Bachelorette 9 - Fan Thread - Discussion #5
I think as soon as Des told Brooks she was engaged to Chris ATFR, and Brooks knowing well and good that she accepted that proposal a week after what they discussed near the pier, his mind was solidified that he did make the right choice after all. Brooks seems like an analyzer/deep thinker and it seems Des is more of a " dive right in" type of person (Esp. given her final outcome)..., and even though I'm sure he still has feelings for her, and obviously still very attracted to her physically, I think he could see they aren't a good match in the real world.nannymargie wrote:You not alone Rolly I am still not happy with the way it ended. You could still see the chemistry they had ATFR. Some people think that she was over Brooks but personally I don't think she is. I also think he still cares for her and was kinda shocked when she said she was engaged to Chris. I don't know if it would have made any difference if he knew before that she was in love with him. Maybe he would have looked at what they had differently. He was feeling it at his HTD but his sister and brothers started making him questions things and that's when his doubts set in. I cannot forget when he said this was the closest he felt to a union of marriage with her. It just still baffles my mind on what the hell happened. I guess we will get over it one day.Rolly wrote:Let me start by saying I love all the pictures and updates of Brooks. Thanks Nannymargie for your comments, nice to not feel so alone in my disappointment. I'm kind of embarrassed to even admit how invested I was in the Bres outcome. I'll come around but just not today!

I wish I could answer why it takes longer for some than others. Maybe, me seeing the warning signs for quite some time and being burned by this show enough times to know what was coming.

I don't think Desiree and Brooks would have a chance even if she were single. They don't seem anything alike now. I don't know what he would've done if she hadn't gotten engaged to Chris. It would've made a much more interesting ATFR if she hadn't gotten engaged to Chris and they didn't tell Brooks the outcome of the show. That is an experiment we'll never know the answer to unless Brooks tells us.

Not with that 'witty' stuff again. Nothing in common?Adele1117 wrote:I don't think Desiree and Brooks would have a chance even if she were single. They don't seem anything alike now. California 90 and Agentcurls, thanks for your comments too. All of this feedback helps to better understand. The end result is probably what is best for everyone, I think it's just the shock of not at all what I was expecting.
Agentcurls I go back and look at all the wonderful fan videos you made and I just love to watch them but of course now it makes me sad. They did have some wonderful loving moments between them. The kiss at the Hollywood sign was one of the romantic kisses I've ever seen and I could watch it over and over again.
OK I'm done now....

Yes Rolly the day will come where we will get over it. But it is so disappointing when our fairytale did not end like we wanted. Everything happens for a reason so maybe this is the best for all of them.Rolly wrote:Thanks Nannymargie for your comments, nice to not feel so alone in my disappointment.
