I didn't think they fit and I thought Brooks would be making a mistake to propose to her. And now I see why. Brooks and Des have little in common. Especially things intellectual, such at wit and being funny.
Can you imagine Brooks and Des together now (with how they've been post-show)? I can't. Not at all.
Great points Monica. Brooks (and Drew) are wonderful men. What Brooks did should be respected. Any less of a man would have selfishly finished the show and ignored everyone's feelings. I believe it was either Sean or Jason Mesnick who tweeted on the night of the finale, that most men and women who go on the show have a hard time seeing past the bubble. So good for Brooks! Both Des and Brooks, and Drew for that matter, deserve to be fully and completely in love with the one they marry. I have a feeling Brooks will have no problem finding his soulmate!

Any naysayer about Brooks/Des are ridiculous because there is one indisputable fact: BROOKS DUMPED DES! And she was broken. She then went on to accept Chris' proposal a mere 5 days later.MonicaJM2001 wrote:yeah I think naysayers want us to be depressed about it forever or something. I know that Sean tweeted something like after it happened. I forget the exact tweet, but it was similar to what you described above and that he respected and gave kudos to Brooks for being able to consider the bigger picture because not many others on the show do. I remember it being a refreshing sight that night since some others from the show or their diehard celeb fans (that Kalie person) seemed far more busy calling Brooks gross or a douchelord (Lesley). I wonder if future contestants will just suck it up and lie to themselves since apparently telling the truth and doing what you think is right equals being a bad person....soccermom333 wrote:Great points Monica. Much respect for Brooks. Not everyone can see beyond the show.

I know, I have to chuckle when I read some people posting how Des chose Chris over Brooks lol what?sfrank wrote:Any naysayer about Brooks/Des are ridiculous because there is one indisputable fact: BROOKS DUMPED DES! I know. The pictures are killing me, in a good way. I think he's even greater looking and more full of personality and charm now. Finally we get to see how funny, smart, interesting and cool he is. And I already thought those things from the edited tv Brooks. Real-life Brooks has kicked those up. I think some of my disappointment with the ending is from the fact that I wanted more Brooks, on the show, in the media, on the talk shows. With the breakup there was a too abrupt end to him on my tv. He would have been soooo great in interviews. Oh well. Thank goodness for social media.MonicaJM2001 wrote:I'm sorry but this pic is going to cause me to permanently :Drool:Adele1117 wrote:"Brooks Forester from the Bachelorette."

I think the same also. Des will have Brooks in her heart and mind the rest of her life. I think Brooks will think about Des and special moments also for a long time. There is so many things he loved about her so how can he not?bamafan wrote:There has been discussion about what the public thinks about the situation that has occurred. I have a friend that did not watch the show and never does. She watches GMA and saw all the previews of things going on. She watched some of the final episode. She saw the proposal and also watched Brooks and Des together at the end. I got a call from her the next day and her opinion was, that girl is not over the young man that came out. She was not into the proposal it did not seem to her and she says Des will always be thinking about Brooks in some manner. Her feelings are strong in her heart to be there a long time and maybe forever. Someone not spoiled at all and not even familiar with the players.

This is how many of my unspoiled friends and family saw things as well. But I blame TP. They didn't do Des and Chris any favors in that regard according to the edit, but oh well.....that sparkler on her finger might make up for it!bamafan wrote:There has been discussion about what the public thinks about the situation that has occurred. They usually leave so much on the cutting room floor that it baffles me how much of the Des and Brooks saga was left in there and then have it turn out the way it did. They certainly made it more challenging for Des and Chris to face the media, talk show circuit, etc...and to convince the public that its the real deal ( I do think its the real deal, for now anyway...)
