Just a note. Brooks fan thread has more posts than any other.

I completely agree! But I probably don't mean it as good naturedly as Brooks. I literally despised the poetry that was force fed all season long.

Infrequent poster, here.

Brooks has moved on.
Des seems to be happy now (hopefully so).
Then WHY can’t I move on from Bres?

I’m in my mid 50s. Brooks is about my son’s age. This must be it: Des is ME (sort of) 30ish years ago. Brooks is someone I loved (30ish years ago). Chris is my current husband, faithful and supportive dependable and there for me, waiting for me, years ago, to get over the Brooks in my past.
This is why I’m still not over it: Brooks brings back personal memories, long ago suppressed. I have moved forward in my life with my “Chris.” Wow!

You never know what will trigger them, but memories DO flood back. This is why I’m taking this so hard….I AM happy now, though.
