I just went back and started reading the Discussion #3 thread. I love agentcurls list of clues about why Brooks wasn´t F1, Chris was F1 etc. That post should be stickied so we don´t lose it for sleuthing next season!

 I put the updated F1 vs. not F1 analysis list as a red Sticky in the "Bachelorette Season 9 Archives/Past Discussions" thread to possibly use as a future reference.

Agent, would you mind clarifying something we were debating yesterday...at ATFR did you get the sense that Brooks still had lingering feelings for Des? Or she had for him? Someone mentioned the look on her face when he talked about seeing something between her and Chris and I agree she did not look happy. Thoughts?

I think they both feel like they have unfinished business. I know Des said she got closure because she told Brooks everything she wanted to in Antigua, but she will always wonder "what if" in a real world scenario. My opinion on Brooks is he still has feelings for Des, but knows deep down she is not the right one for him, intellectually in particular.

In retrospect, I don't think Des sparked his intellectual curiosity as much as Brooks sparked and challenged hers. There was still a strong physical attraction and emotional bond there. But I suspect Brooks is going on record saying he did the right thing by walking away and that the love just wasn't there, because he was being honest with himself and knew he had to close the door for good on the relationship because she is with Chris now.

Wow, I so agree.  I read in one of the earlier threads that Brooks was listening to music on Spotify.  Does anyone know what type of music it was.  Was it missing her music or music of regret.  You guys know what I'm trying to say because that would indicate where his head was during these months and up to now before ATFR.  I don't have facebook, but could someone post those songs, I want too listen too those lyrics.

If I remember right they said they were sad songs and could not understand why he was listening to them. I would also like to know the list of songs and lyrics,

I am so glad I have everything on DVR and can watch only the good parts with him. You can also do that on You Tube.

I am so glad I have everything on DVR and can watch only the good parts with him.  You can also do that on You Tube.

They did not show much of Brooks' discussions with the other guys, but I do remember him doing a lot of observing. I think he was closely watching Des' interactions, and listened intently to the other guys to try to gauge their relationships. He doesn't seem aggressive at all in nature, so he was more inclined to hang back in group activities.

I wonder now why much of their one-on-one time during group dates was edited out?

Also, does anyone know what Zack K was talking about when he said about some baseball game that he and Brooks played in?

What notice to the ATFR, is Des clearly still has feeling for Brooks, she was very attentive to Brooks. She turned her body to listen to him. She still had love in her eyes. I believe she was still hoping for something with him but when he said what he did that dashed her dreams again.
When she and Chris was on stag on the couch, she didn't turn her body to him when they would kiss she just turn her head. Chris kept rubbing her shoulder, she was just stiff she wouldn't lean into him. He k Emily did a better job with Brad.

I agree with you I think he loved her more than he admitted to himself. His head was in control because his heart still had walls around it to really feel everything he was thinking.

When she said she loved him he was shocked but it was too late to change the course he was on. Why else at the end of their walk he says should I go? He said he didn't know what to do or what to say. Maybe he wanted her to say stay, but all she said is what else are you going to do and you said what you wanted. I don't think he was crying that hard and that emotional just because he broke her heart.

Also when she said I wanted you to meet my family, he said I was hoping but I didn't know how conflicted you were with the other relationships.

Brooks and Chris are very often next to one another in group settings, even when Des is not present, but very much so when she is. Like Arie and Jef, my guess is these two knew one another well, liked one another then and now, and Brooks' knowledge of Chris' character and strong feelings for Des was part of what gave him the courage to follow his own heart, which was not leading him to settle down with Des post show. They like and respect one another, so there's no particular sport IMO in lining up one camp against the other at this point. As ever, when the dust settles, the characters are allied as they should be. Arie and Jef friends, respectful of Emily, but no relationship was how last year sorted out. This year? I think Chris/Des have a real world shot, and Brooks is content to find his own destiny.

Brooks will always be in Des' heart and mind even though she is with Chris. I can say that because I am living it and it's been many many years and that man comes to my mind often.
