I thought the two weeks Brooks was talking about was the amount of time between the HTD and LRC (proposal). The period of time Des was talking about from Brooks leaving to the FRC was a week or less, not two.

oh, maybe that was what brooks was talking about. thanks rolly. as for des we know she is spinning things a bit. she said she doesn't know if brooks had stayed if she would have picked him for F1. i really wish she hadn't said that. it's obviously untrue. i feel for her though. she was in an awful spot and the pressure to continue was probably unbearable.

i did read the conference call transcript and she says she told chris all the details of what happened with brooks in their break up so hopefully she did tell him the things she said about her being in love with him and what she was conflicted about. i'm sure his family probably brought it up so he must know. there is a big difference though in just hearing about something and seeing it.

Here's the thing....I don't believe Brooks was not falling in love. I notice a change in him after he saw Des with James.  I don't think he liked James very much and for her to treat James like she treat him was difficult for him to understand . Remember he had practice of putting walls up. He was able to do that with his father.  I believe if Des had told him earlier and starting backing down on the kisses with some of the other guys he may have open his heart more.  But I really think she lost him in Spain with all the James mess.  Brooks is very set in his principles and that is a good thing. But sometimes you just have to go head first and take a leap of faith.  I guess the reason I am so sad is because I believe Des and Brooks are soul mates and one day they will look back and know this.  This does not mean that they will not have a happy life but just think of what it could have been.

Even makes me wonder if TPTB put that sign there to emphasize the time frame. Brooks clearly said he was traveling the next day so it was a short period of time between the break up and the proposal. I think TPTB tried to make everybody look bad. They draw out forever the break up leaving less time to show the Chris and Des love story, Des looks like she's settling and Chris looks like he 's OK with being #2, Drew get the second rose because well...there are only two guys left. MF said everybody would be happy with the ending. The only real people happy are Chris supporters who thought all along that he would end up being #2 without the girl. He was #2 but ended up with the girl.

She's backwards rationalizing everything ex post facto.

Even if D told C everything (which I highly doubt), I don't think C is in a position to object. He doesn't have enough pride or a big enough ego to take offense.

I think a lot of guys are like that in real life. They don't care if they're the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 15th option. As long as they win out eventually.

I get what you guys are trying to say, but she is being asked specifically about choosing Chris at the FRC. She is not being asked about how much time she spent with Chris in total after Brooks left.

Then Des goes on to say those last two weeks are vital...yada, yada, yada. She spent two days with Chris after Drew went home. NOT 2 weeks.

D seems to have this sense of ease about her whenever she is with B. It's really striking. My sense is that she can really be herself around him. I think that feeling was reciprocal but B being as sensitive as he is, was looking for signs of danger, instead of focusing on how strongly she felt about him.

He just wasn't ready to commit. He needs time to get over his past hurts: with his father and with his ex.

The article mentions that B couldn't handle seeing D kissing and canoodling with all of the other guys, esp. with guys he didn't particularly like or respect. He knew all of this was a possibility given the format, but in the moment, he was hurt by it.

The story seems very plausible.

she's fudging and counting all sorts of days before and after probably. oh! maybe she means 2 weeks in tv air time. of course we know that is not actually 2 weeks irl. who knows?
