So if people get banned they destroy the thread? Atem, you did post the web address from the last thread (that is now locked) on the previous page so you can see old posts. This stuff is so confusing to me.

Since we are now on the Brooks fan thread let me just say I have not recovered from the episode last Monday. I think everybody is happy or resigned to what happened and I'm still in shock and very sad. I was so confident Brooks would come back...I thought he was just feeling pressure to be at the point where he could propose and since he wasn't there he just eliminated himself. His HTD went so well and he seemed to be in love to me...as close as he had ever been to the union of marriage and not wanting for her to go. I can see how Des would be confused with the change to where he was in Antigua.

I loved Latergator's fan video--journey to love---maybe I just had this vision of the insecurities he felt being dealt with in his coming back. The comment to his sister and mom about not being sure exactly where Des was at with her relationships with Drew and Chris and maybe she had questions too. There were so many wonderful signs I thought that seemed to be love in their journey together.

What a disappointment to me Monday's episode was. I was sure Brooks would be back, the question only was what process would bring him there. As the minutes ticked away that night I felt more and more sad. I still think she settled based on how quickly she went from the heartbreak of Brooks to accepting Chris' proposal. What is so surprising is how invested I got in Des and Brooks' relationship. I always thought in the end they would be together.

I do want for everyone to be happy and move on....I guess I'm still grieving and not quite there yet.

PS  And Des saying her feelings for Brooks were resolved at ATFR, I know that's where she wanted to be but I don't believe it for a second.

PSS I want a grief and loss group....

I know what you guys are going through as I went through it too.  Heck, even The Middle did a great episode about how this show affects people!    It was a hilarious episode.  

There is really nothing we can do now.  It isn't fair that we are expected to be where they are now when we just got through being where they were a few months ago.  I am basically enjoying posting here for now and then in time things will be on to new things.

I think now people get why I so wanted people to not get their hopes so up for Brooks to be F1 that I got banned twice from this forum.  

I'm so happy to know I'm not the only one with a heavy heart. If I can't get over the painful breakup that occurred just 10 days ago, I don't know how Desiree healed so fast. How could she have been healthy enough to accept another man's proposal so soon there after such pain and misery?? Dang, her eyes barely had time to clear up from all that crying and just like magic she was over Brooks ?? No Way !! I believe Chris became her comforter...I saw the look in her eyes when Brooks came on that stage ATFR..I saw them looking at each other !! Didn't I see that same old chemistry between them ?? It was so easy to imagine her throwing herself in his arms crying again...maybe it's just because that's the last way we saw them together.      This show is bizarre..nobody should be required to get engaged after 3 dates .

Desiree doesn't have a job.  She is going to miss home like crazy though.  Her annoying 'it's cloudy today' tweets sure are a clue to me how miserable she's going to be in non-sunny Seattle.

What was she doing before the show?

maybe both? i think she is really going to try to make it work with chris. since she's moving in with him i'm sure she'll find out soon if it will work or not. that is a lot of change for her though: moving to seattle, moving to a new place with chris, trying to start her own line of designs and i read they want to get a dog. i am not sure how she is going to further her career though. she can create designs but how would she manufacture and market any dresses? that takes big bucks and contacts in the fashion industry. maybe she'll find someone to back her? with her earnings from the show she could probably manufacture some jewelry though. if a jewelry line takes off i guess she'll be okay. chris probably makes a good living so i think they'll be okay financially.

I'm hoping that Molly and Jason will be reaching out to the new couple.

 People from Seattle have had some great luck on this show recently.....Jason, Lindzi, Catherine and Chris....maybe they should just hold auditions in Seattle only lol

I'm sure Fleiss was PO'ed that Brooks walked. It destroyed his fairy tale ending. This is why Chris H was directed to trash Brooks at every turn, both on ATFR, in social media, and through other media outlets.

The show's producers are telling any future contestants: "if you walk off the show, you will be crucified, or at the very least smeared and humiliated in the media."

I feel like not buying any product assoc. with the show based upon the way they treat their contestants.

As far as D, yes, she settled. Better to settle than walk away with nothing. She was thrilled to have that fabulous ring on her finger, thrilled to be "engaged," and ok with being with chris for a few months until the hoopla settles down.

The bottom line is that Fleiss seems to be highly skilled at picking very pretty, yet very naive, even dumb contestants, who have little in the way of scruples to begin with anyway.

This show appears more and more slimey the more I learn about it.

So I was just on radaronline.com and came across this article on Brooks which also directed to national enquirer (I know I know) and the real reason he left...

It was like an aha! moment and makes total sense to me now.. on their first date Brooks was head over heels for Des but I couldn't understand why he started to become distant and hesitant.. this makes a lot of sense. What do you-all think? Makes me sad...

I think you are wrong on several points. Frist, Brooks knew what he was getting into and knew that there would be a 'story' the show had to tell.

MF LOVED Brooks leaving. He said he thought it was entertaining. That was the 'out of left field' moment, not Desiree picking Chris S.

Desiree is human and did what she thought was best for her. I don't know if it is the right one or not.

Thank for bringing this up again! I commented on this earlier...

Des and Chris are making a concerted effort to ignore her feelings for Brooks and it could be their downfall. That might be another reason TPTB dropped the pushing for him to be the new Bachelor! They want Des and Chris to say together for a bit! LOL.

Now, with Chris not having seen the infamous breakup because it "doesn't matter" and Des ridiculous claim that it was "two weeks" between Brooks leaving and the proposal, they are both delusional! I think Des is moving to Seattle this weekend because she is desperate to prove to the world, Chris and more importantly herself, that she is completely over Brooks. Even the most successful Bachelor and less controversial couples did not move this quickly. I think they should get used to being a couple in the real world before moving in together. Its a big mistake. Do the long distance thing for a few months, get your bearings, and THEN make the move. Too much, too soon...IMO.
