Those are some great numbers for a Bette season.
8.6 million waiting for Brooks to pop out of the bushes with an engagement ring or crash the set of the ATFR. LOL
Noob, I watching the whole Des at the proposal site/Chris in the limo scene through my fingers. It was like some bad "where in the world is Waldo?" game...

Re: Episode 11 (Finale Part 2) - 8/05 - Bachelorette 9 - Discussion - Spoilers
I watched a replay of the show last night since I expected a repeat of the week before. I have to say I was very pleased and enjoyed the entire three hours. I fully expected Brooks to come back and he did not. That alone was priceless. The more I thought about it I am not sure she was in love with Brooks but more infatuated. In the end he was unable to provide her with her needs and was glad he was gone. I have to admit I was not a fan of any of the guys this season. Brooks was my least favorite. If you are that old depending so much on your family and so up and down as he admitted it was for the best. Des knew he needed extra reassurance which is never a good thing in a relationship. I could not in vision him as a husband or for sure a father. He needs to mature himself first. His behavior showed very little of a mature man to me this season. He was good looking but I just felt physical chemistry not emotional.
Drew did not stand out other than his looks and at times appeared a bit too enthusiastic. Nice guy but not a good match for a woman like Des.
Chris was not a favorite either as the poetry got old quick but I got to say when he put the pen down and spoke the words he finally showed his maturity and personality. He is the kind of guy to stick around during the hard times unlike the one she thought she loved. I was pleased to hear her say the one she really wanted was right there but she was blind sighted by Brooks. While in the minority I liked the dress and thought the proposal was emotional. I think she realized the difference between infatuation and how that meant her falling for the wrong guys. I think she was feeling the beginnings of love with Chris. I am still not one to believe love happens overnight but there is a good foundation there and it sounds like the last months have been good ones. Moving to Seattle is a good sign.
Will they make it? I have no idea but I think she handled herself very well after all that went down. She made the best choice for her and I wish them nothing but the best. I also was impressed with the move this weekend which will place them out of the spotlight and him back to work. Neither are fame hungry and I think that speaks volumes. A week or contractual PR and then off to begin a life not to DWTS. Will. Even to see how it turns out. I was very pleased not to see Brooks again. He made the right choice to walk and for once it was the correct one. There is something very odd about him. It would not have been a good fit for the long haul.
Juan Pablo! Please get him some quality women and keep his kid off camera. Liked his honesty about finding a wife and mother.

Spoilers or no spoilers Brooks was my choice from the very first episode. He is still my choice and Chris was my second. Not sure that is how Des felt also.

Man. You're going to have to teach me that "I told you so" dance. It would have come in VERY handy for me last fall.
I am thrilled that the spoilers were wrong this season, and I think the fact that all three of the F3 were pretty stand up guys made the ending more palatable for everyone. I'll just note that some of the same people who are bemoaning the cruelty of the "tyranny of the spoiler believing majority" and enjoying that the ending stuck it to them a bit were on here last B-ette season treating TTF like immoral morons who couldn't see the greatest love story of all time in Jem. Not saying that about you nd, but I have been pretty darn shocked at some of the switches. Probably a good reminder that painting any fan base with a broad brush and having your criticism be focused on board members versus cast members is short sighted. Never know who'll be on your "side" next season!
I'll stay on the snark and sleuth team. On that note, in honor of Chris, I'll end with a haiku that was posted on my FB wall this morning.
A Haiku For My Salad:
I do not like you
You will never be grilled cheese
You make my mouth sad
Crap. I have salad for lunch, and now I want a grilled cheese.

It was a beautiful ending to an up and down season and I regret I was 'spoiled' as I think I would have enjoyed it even more. Chris is a rock for Des and after being on her own and never having anyone reciprocate her love so much, he is perfect for her. I think they have an even better chance of making it than Sean and Catherine. I think Chris taking charge of the relationship was the secret to the happy ending.
Anyone else wonder how much hush money was paid to put out all those false spoilers? Fleiss must be sitting like a happy pig in mud today smirking like crazy. Hats off to him. He pulled it out and made a wonderful ending. In some respects, I wish it was the last show of the final season - just to leave that great feeling from earlier years in the series.

If l recall correctly not only is Des moving to Seattle this wkend according to her, but l do believe Chris said that they have a place of their own that they will be moving into. With him new to Seattle and Des now they can both learn/explore the city together and to start a new chapter of their life and what way to start it then get a place together. SOOO HAPPY for them. l too can see them getting married before Sean/cat my gut feeling.

I was my husbands second choice, he took a little longer to warm up to me, but were so happy today, going on ten years now.
It takes a mixture of respect, friendship along with that passion. Chris looks like a serious, dependable guy that Des will see and she will wonder how she could have chosen anything else. When she wakes up each morning, next to him, true and loyal. she will feel so safe and loved, Its a great feeling.

I didn't expect her to end up with Brooks solely because of the spoilers. I expected her to end up with him because she made it clear that she was in love with him only. Same thing with Brad. I knew it was Emily despite the spoilers. It would have been Brooks had he decided to come back but he didn't. I'm happy she found a great guy and truly wish them the best. I think they have just as much of a shot at making it as any other couple.

LOL I am always on the loosing side anyway - no jokes, so if i like a contestant know that he/she is not F1.
However, I do know when things just don't add up including the greatest love story never told Jem.
Each season I am often pleasantly surprised at some great folk that see eye-to-eye with me when the previous season(S) we were on opposing side of the fence. It happens but it is a nice feeling.
Then again there are folk that I have been on the 'same side' for multiple seasons. As long as everyone is respectful its all good. Sadly there were some that weren't so accomodating.
It happens.
My post was about those that I knew were not seeing even the remotest possibility that the spoiler could be wrong. Its not an I told you so dance but rather an At least consider it jig.

Just wanted to put out another thought that quite a few obviously had while watching the finale2 - kept waiting and waiting for a foot, a leg or a knock on the freaking door, something indicating that Brooks was returning but as the clock minutes climbed it seemed less and less likely.
I kept thinking about the sinking hearts of all the spoiler friends out here and realized they were all in for a giant let down. That was a good feeling indeed.
I wasn't looking at the let down. I was just so delighted for those who were either Chris or Drew fans (or even those of us who didn't care either way) because I felt that the treatment of those who didn't fawn over Brooks was ugly just because some didn't go long with the crowd. I never saw the likability of Brooks from night one -- and he was even less of a 'man' last night. But we all know that there will still be some who will think that that greasy haired, childish, effeminate guy who sat first on the couch last night with Desiree will still be adored by many here. And that is OK.
Just catching up today. The bolded really expresses what I have felt for a while now. It was incredibly hard for those of us who believed that Brooks just wasn't that into Des. Despite the spoilers, that is what I saw. He did the right thing in leaving, considering how he felt. I also thought that he went through a process and took some time before making his decision. That is why I did not see him coming back. It made no sense to me.
For myself, I truly hope that those of us who look at this show with skepticism and don't take anything at face value, especially the spoilers, will at least be allowed to have our say without being personally attacked. It's very stressful.

Piper61 wrote:relaxing wrote:Have to pipe up to say something I've said before, but Brooks fans can't be just painted as people following the spoilers and wanting to root for the winner and ignoring or dismissing the sleuthing. That's not fair. I almost never root for the spoiled F1, they usually aren't my favorite but Brooks happened to be both.
I fell in love with his character, one of my fave's ever, and I loved watching Des fall for him - which she did. That's a fact. So spoilers or not, I would have been the die-hard Bres fan that I was. Wanting Des to end up in love and with the guy that I was most into. They're story made the season for me, along Zak and some of the fun group dates. I could never get into her relationships with Chris or Drew. I wish her and Chris well. But without the spoiler, or with a spoiler of Chris F1, I would still have been 100% on the Bres train.
Also, I love the sleuthing. My favorite part of this board. Don't know why you can't be a fan of the spoiled F1 and still appreciative of sleuthing. They're not mutually exclusive.
Hear, hear! I can be gracious in accepting being duped by the spoilers and all that was going on, but I was totally onboard with Brooks from the posting of his ABC bio pic before the season started. No one liked that picture I think but me, and when he stepped out of the limo and the season began, he was the guy I liked best. I was pleasantly surprised to see the spoiler that he was F1. Their first date sold me on them as a couple. And the bolded, same here.
Yep, I am woman enough to admit when I am wrong. I trusted long term posters who have yet to be wrong until last night. I trusted what I heard come out of Des's own mouth. Personally, I could not ever get over what Des said about loving Brooks and not feeling the same about the others. Chris is an amazing man. I hope he is happy and that Des is too. He is a bigger man than I could be. I always said we had no incontrovertible proof by SC's that Brooks was F1. Sources and Des, that was all we had. Good one Fleiss. You got me!
