MVMom, below is an excerpt from Chris Harrisson's media interview yesterday when he said this in regards to how Brooks treated Des:

I really don't think it would have made any difference whatsoever if she had been on you know one knee begging for his hand in marriage three weeks ago.

Hey guys look I just get the feeling from everything Ive read and analyzed that Des ends up engaged to Chris. I know it sounds crazy considering how she just professed her love about Brooks but I just don't see how Chris H could be saying any of these things if Brooks was F1. But it's just so darn confusing cuz RS keeps saying he's sure she is engaged to Brooks and said he would be telling us on Monday how he came to this conclusion. But what's also confusing is RS says "engaged" and these other sources are now saying oh well maybe they are happy and together but not sure if they are engaged....but what?? I mean which is it, if they really knew the truth that part would be clear. Nate pretty much implied Des does choose someone so she doesn't go home alone. I think she is either with Chris or engaged to him.

As mentioned by many folks already, it's the spoilers vs. the edits / Nate / what Chris H is touting in the latest rounds of interviews. I am just confused that he said the ratings don't matter as much as Des's well being in the latest media interview. Yet if she is engaged to Brooks, he has done nothing but taint their relationship with everything he said in the media rounds. We here in Chrisville wish Des nothing but the best but she better not reward Chris's steadfastness, love and support by allowing him to propose and then dumping him, that we will hold against her. Especially after those LCD pictures we have from screen caps of her and Chris, how could she be frolicking with Chris after claiming that she wanted to go home and for her it was over.... that's not right in my opinion but we shall see what happens on Monday!!!!!

I'm so anxious to see how this plays out as well. On one hand I don't want chris to have his heart broken but then again I really don't want to see him with des either! It's all very conflicting when I get this invested to a person on the show! I don't understand why people keep comparing chris to a faithful dog. Yes, he did say he was there for the long haul but.. The man has some self respect!!!!! From what I see on Monday nights he has every reason to believe he could be her final choice and if she lets him down on one knee after brooks returns to only reject him would be completely heartless!

Well if she is with Chris I am a tad bit concerned about how much she really loves him so what happens in the next few months is up in the air. I think there is a chance she does love him or could grow to love him esp with Brooks out of the picture. I mean sometimes when a girl loves a guy and gets dumped and then later gets over him she might realize that it wasn't real love because love is a two way street. The thing with Brooks is, Des thought he loved her too, I think if he has some time to get over him and thinks more and more how he didn't love her, it will hurt but then she will come to a realization maybe she didn't really love him that much after all..i mean really she barely knew the guy...the went on like 3 or 4 dates inside a bubble.

Anyway I just don't think there's any way Chris Harrison would be saying these things about Brooks if he is engaged to Des. And Chris H likes Brooks...he's not saying bad things about Brooks he's just saying Brooks didn't love her....and he is emphasizing it also cuz he needs to do damage control cuz they are showing Des saying how much she loves Brooks and I think Chris H wants to point out, look she loved him ("or so she thought" those are Chris H's words), he didn't love her, she needs to get over him (or has, which he can't say). I just don't think Chris H would throw in the "or so she thought" if Des was engaged or with Brooks. He is prob saying that cuz Des is not with Brooks and is with someone else and he wants Des's claim of loving Brooks to not seem so real and damaging to her current relationship.

I agree!! You would think if brooks is indeed f1 then the host of the show would be selling the couple instead of constantly reminding us that brooks isn't in love with her!! Maybe he would rather emphasize the fact that brooks struggled with his feelings rather than he just doesn't love her.
