My son is a prof at the school Ashlie went to and had her in one if his classes. He said she was sweet, serious, smart and mature. She was well liked by staff and fellow students. Good ingredients for a marriage. He is older than the average guy which might help too. Loved their season and wish them the best.

Timing is everything with this franchise. Major happy announcements usually come at a time to defray from otherwise not so happy news. Should be interesting with the timing.

Or, it could also be that the TPTB need a little something "extra" to keep the franchise in the news since there is no Bachelor Pad this season or Dancing with the Stars to keep the brand in media mentions. And, there could be extra interest/media if the next Bachelor Season was atypical in some fashion: a 2 bachelor season, filming the season in Seattle (Chris), or a single Latino father (Juan Pablo) as the lead.

Yippee if is Juan Pablo. Thanks to the poster who posted the pics. Dr. Hottie, I could not agree with you more! It used to be light hearted silliness which after a twelve hour day of work was great escapism TV.

I'm actually excited about a new season with a hot lead. It's about time and Kasha was right when she said they need a happy moment to detract from the train wreck! Women will be so focused on Juan Pablo they will forget how bad this season turned out.. :Clap:

I feel like a dirty old lady but that guy is hot. I am fed up after this season. I could see coming back just to listen to him talk! ITA they do need some happy moments. You guys are both spot on. Fingers crossed. Nothing against Chris but this guy has charm. I was glad they got him in the hot seat during MTA. I wondered then if that was not the reason since he got so little air time. If it is him please let them get some decent women for him. He does not seem like the kind to settle and he has a child who will have to deal with his choice too. I wonder if the PTB realize how fed up many of us are. This would go a long way to handle damage control:High clap:

I think there may be some, but even Chris kind of made fun of himself on FD when he said "it's another poem,". Then clarified he thought that was a special way to communicate w Des (since they both write). I'm sure prod encouraged it as well.

If they limit it but just a few go a long way. It was hard to get a good feel on his personality. I had a hard time connecting with him. Curious what kind of conversation skills he has. Seems nice but like Juan Pablo's humor.........and looks!

How did this all come about? That just seems odd that the announcement for the next Bachelor would come this soon. They are giving us an early headsup about TB announcement - even before we see the conclusion of Part 2 of the finale. And Chris hasn't even been officially eliminated yet!!

If Chris is going to be announced as the next Bachelor, I think that he should just do it by skype from Seattle. Why even bother showing up to have that "talk" with Des in person? After last Monday night, I sincerely doubt that either Chris or Drew have any questions that they need answers for. I am sure that after watching that, both of them have already gotten all the closure that they need.

ETA: Kasha, I do understand that this early announcment could be a distraction from the messy and perhap not so happy ending for Des' season. Actually, the announcement for the next Bachelor is about all that I am really interested in now.

im not sure exactly what this whole thing with chris is...i dont think he was literally handing out roses. i havent seen any pics..i think someone said they were filming him and some girls had some roses but not like he handed them roses....i think that part was speculation. anyway juan pablo or zak would make more sense to be the bachelor with an announcement this early...wouldnt make sense to me for it to be chris s or an F2. im still thinking chris is F1 anyway. also i think theres proof of jp being in LA now?

I as well know nothing about Chris handing out roses but Drew has favorited several tweets about him handing out roses to a girls soccer team at some sort of tournament! These were tweeted on July 13th. Could this be something similar to what Chris did?

No. His brother is a soccer coach, and Drew gave the girls on his team roses. Like pre-teen age.

Close enough. Drew was with his sister and her soccer team. He was handing out roses to the girls. Nothing like what Chris was doing.

Oh ok thanks for the info! I knew the girls appeared to be 13-15 yr olds but since everyone was talking about this thing with Chris and I just happened to see those tweets Drew had favorited I thought maybe they were related some how.
