IMO, there isn't a way to really make Brooks look good in this situation. He got scared and ran. No matter how much groveling and begging and professing of love he does to get back on the show, many won't forget he left in the first place.

I completely agree with this umngirl. I think if Brooks leaves and then comes back, there is going to be a tremendous backlash on it. To me, what is going on has to be more than a simple case of cold feet.

Bottom line, as long as Des is happy since she is the lead, that is what I am hoping for her.

Exactly! I precieve he is a man in love and scared to death and that makes him human, that's reality. Sure Chris and Drew could be afraid too, they are who they are and Brooks is who he is. I precieve if they want each other then they should have each other. JMO

Ali was able to suck it up and move on because her guy was still there. Des guy is leaving, kind of hard to suck it up.

regarding your question... no I don't think there is something in Books past that they are holding and getting ready to side swipe him with it. we don't know for sure what happens, and wont until Monday at 8pm. even then we might not know the details until Aug 5 at 8pm. all the speculating in the world wont make it so. we can come up with scenarios that might be, but honestly those that know have not told us, and those who have told us don't know.
Ok, ANY of the guys then. The point is, would the machine do that??

Remember the machine did this during Emily's season re Arie - leak to the press at the start of the season that Arie had dated Cassie L, then bring it up to Emily midseason as part of the storyline of how Emily develops mistrust in Arie and transitions to Jef. (Just talking Storyline here, not necessarily Em's actual feelings.)

The machine could do the same with the info that Brooks "cheated" on his exgf with the older woman in Mexico on an NYE. It might not be coincidental that this piece of info was leaked to us midseason, fresh enough to remember when CH has a sitdown with Des to tell her that "we have evidence that Brooks cheated on a prior gf". Just like Bryden's leaving might have been a foreshadowing of Brooks' eventual storyline, Brian's exgf situation might have also been a foreshadowing of sorts.

(I put quotes around "cheated" because as far as I know, we don't know if he actually cheated on a current relationship with that NYE makeout session.)

yup. i put this theory out there the other day. the crazy bitter ex shows up at brooks' door with accusations he cheated on her with the cougar when they were together and tries to sabotage his relationship with des. i wouldn't put it past tptb. they love this kind of stuff. we see CH ask "are you telling me you dont love this girl?" he's not talking about des. CH doesn't refer to des as "this girl". CH tells brooks he has to go talk to des immediately. youknowwhat hits the fan and brooks leaves...only to return in a few days.

who knows? it could happen and just know you were forewarned if it does.

I think Ali was torn between Frank & Roberto and in fact before I knew Frank was leaving I thought she might end up with him. He was always her type and she appeared devastated when he left, much like Des.

I think Ali was mad that Frank left, making her look like 2nd fiddle to him(she wanted him to want her even if she wanted Roberto). I think Roberto was her guy. Frank leaving brought up her insecurities about Roberto. How could a hot guy love meeeeee? (in my Ali voice)

Brooks inability to say what he is thinking, looking to family for as much help as he apparently has might make him cautious as some have said make me think he just is not ready for marriage or even a commitment. If he is f1 I feel bad for Des. What is attractive on a reality show might turn into a real life nightmare when the cameras stop and they face the real world. The man is good looking and sensitive but way too dependent on his family at his age. I wonder if it is him what their odds are of making it. I am the mother of four adult sons and would be freaked if any of them took this route to find love especially one this insecure. You must first know yourself before you can give your love to another. My guess is that is the drama.

Not sure if this has been discussed but a bachelor blogger - Office Stace (she keeps away from spoilers) thought she had the opportunity to attend the ATFF and was unable to because she found out it was a closed set. welcome swissmiss!! yes... i can see one of the story line this season is about Brooks`s insecurities (real or not). and that will be great material for the so-called most dramatic ending
